What do two fingers in the air mean? I always thought that was the sign for victory.

I never understand the two fingers either but it seems to make the rounds of all the Italians. Some kind of happy sign is all I know. In the old World War II days it was VICTORY. Way before all these people and their lives. Everybody is such sheep with all the same mannerisms. Totally narcissistic for sure. A photo every five minutes of themselves. You seem despicable Lormar if it were sold in supermarkets? However I have not ever seen Lormar in supermarkets but I saw it in stores and intimate as a model for Lormar Elizabeth succeeded to Manuela Arcuri. About her ass I gladly trade it with mine!

I think her whole body is rocking!! She works hard for it, seemly everyday some type of workout to keep it in same shape. Lord knows I don't have that discipline.  It may not be someone else's preference for physical beauty but under the current societal definition of beauty, she has it in spades.

And even if you don't think so, what does it matter? Why do we solely focus on any women's looks instead of her professional achievements? She is working post George and hasn't really traded on him (much). She keeps getting rehired by some of the same people (German coffee, Lormar) and she is picking up new contracts (Casino). She must be doing something right for that to occur and therefore she is living her life the way she needs to to remain employed in an industry where 80% of "models" would not be working primarily in the field of their choice.

Societal definitions of beauty are not defined just by thinness. The vast majority of the population are thin.
Physical beauty incorporates the whole package: face primarily, body proportions, hair, skin, health, fitness.
Canalis is a showbiz personality, not a model.  Her professional achievements? A topless nun, DWTS contestant & show co-hosting...

Ocean, please know I wasn’t posting in response to any one post. I have been off the site for a while and came back and after reading through the gf’s threads (as George is out of sight at the moment), it seemed to me that at least  70% of commentary made was related to their appearance and that the women did not meet some posters expectations physically, morally or professionally. I mean, if someone is looking at the ex girlfriend of a movie star to be their moral compass and shining example on how to live a positive, joyful and enriched life full of compassion and empathy  then no wonder so many people continue to be disappointed and critical of the women. These women did not sign up to be anyone’s role model. They just dated an actor that you like. So why are they being held up to an ideal that some George’s fan base has decided they must attain and if they don’t meet a standard, they are failures, scum of the Earth and deserve to be “exposed” to the world?  

Betty hasn’t been with George for over 2 years but people are still posting pics of her ass from the Hawaii beach walk from over three years ago for comparison and analysis. Really? People age. They change the way they work out. She wasn’t doing Krav Maga during the George years. Her body has the right to change. Her diet may have changed with the aim to get certain results. She may have had plastic surgery. It really doesn’t matter. These women are simply the ex girlfriend of an actor, not your mortal enemy.  

Not sure why people are still so invested in tearing them down. Does it make the poster feel better about themselves if they can point out perceived flaws in a public figure? Do you do the same to the people you work with? Your family? Your friends? What is the appeal of attacking someone just because they don’t meet your ideal? Wouldn’t it be better to just decide to focus on those you do believe in and be positive in general instead of such an outflow of hate and negativity? Because I promise you these women don’t care about your opinion of them. So why expend the effort in your distain and spend so much time in a negative state of mind?

Actually Ocean and Watching, the flat ass story in Hawaii wasn't the main story at the time with the walking on the beach at the time of the movie Descendants. It was "fake George" the look alike George who was shorter in the photos, not merely walking on the down slope of the sand. There were many conspiracy theorists at the time that George had a "double" to throw off the paps. Who knows? It was a hilarious story at the time and everyone goes back to this pancake ass photo as a before and after with the supposed Doctor Urtis reconstruction who also just showed up in Milan recently September 12th bearing gifts for her 35th birthday party. The reason Canalis stays lively in this thread is she is a walking soap opera almost daily.

The ceremony will be held at the Embassy of Italy in Washington D.C. on Oct. 11, 2013.

Mr. and Mrs. Neil Bush, Chairman of Points of Light and Italian Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero and Laura Denise will host the event.

The Points of Light Tribute Awards spotlights individuals and organizations who best exemplify the American ideal of service and voluntary action.

The foundation was set up in 1990 after President George H. W. Bush's inaugural address invoked the vision of a "thousand points of light" and a call to action for Americans to commit to service to their communities.

Celebrities, dignitaries, business executives, supporters and civic leaders come together annually to salute honorees whose extraordinary contributions to volunteering and service have made their communities and the world better.

Christie is being awarded for his response to Superstorm Sandy.  The organization credits Christie working across lines with government, businesses, nonprofits and faith groups to quickly respond to the disaster, including working to harness the efforts of tens of thousands of volunteers in the recovery effort.

Along with Christie, other 2013 honorees are the site AmpleHarvest.org (a non-profit fighting hunger), Amy Paterson (a cancer survivor who came up with a child care solution for parents in treatment) and the company Citi (for its corporate service).

Elisabetta Canalis, Italian actress and model, and Greta Van Susteran of Fox News will emcee the event.

Among the special guests will be singer/songwriter Pia Toscano, broadcaster Paul Berry, and Al Roker.
