I haven't felt anything here in MA.

Hi - I honestly knew nothing about an earthquake here. And I watch the 5:00 pm news every evening. Nothing was mentioned.

I guess the Kardashian wedding was more important! Thanks to everyone who was concerned.

Since it happened at 1:55 pm today, I don't think it would have made the 5 o'clock news today (it's only 3:17). So I guess you didn't feel it. Good.

I'm okay, LL, the house just shook. Felt like it was rocking. No damage though for me.

Yep, just read on the Internet that it happened today. Sorry to hear that you felt it though. At least you had no damage. At 1:55 today I was speeding along Route 287. If there was shaking going on I wouldn't have felt it anyway. The only shock I would feel is terror being on that highway. LOL

You were speeding on Route 287. Didn't know you could do that anymore. Every time I'm on it, can't go over 40-45 with all the trucks.

In a car, you probably wouldn't feel it. Was on the highway in southern CA going from Ramona (San Diego area) to LA when they had a pretty good earthquake. Didn't hear about it till we got to airport in LA. Caused some landslides and damage. We didn't feel a thing.

OK folks, must apologize. I just spoke to my neighbor Nichole and she said that the earthquake did hit here. She was sitting on her couch and her couch shook. DUH.

There is a 65 MPH speed limit on 287 but that highway is like the Autobahn, it doesn't matter how fast you drive, as long as you don't hit anything. If you don 't go 75 or 80 MPH they drive you off the road. Never, ever saw a cop car there. They're probably afraid. LOL

You are a tiger. Which way were you going? So I know when it might be safe to go to the Commons or continue onto PA and the Crossings in the Poconos
I might get daring and adventurous one day soon.

There is no safe way to go on that highway. If you took 287 north to the Commons, you'd take Rt. 22 West exit (exit's on the left of course). Every day coming home from work I'd have to merge over 2 lanes to take that exit. Said a little prayer every time I negotiated that move. LOL I live only about 2 miles from there in Bridgewater.

I've been enjoying the peace and quiet since school started. Which is a good thing because I have a major case of PMS. Good Lord, I can't stand myself at times and everything has been getting on my nerves. Usually the PMS goes away when AF arrives but not this time. Grrrr...I feel a margarita in my near future. LoL

Just used it, and it worked for me. Just clicked on it and it opened post a reply window. Hope that helped.

Mostly PMS but maybe a little of both. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder. I don't think it's the heart though, a little lower, actually.

Just cut what you don't want to use. That's what I do.

Mine quotes the whole post then I can just highlight and delete the part I'm not replying to.

Yeah, its old school acronyms but hey, I'm old school most of the time too. LoL

patty, that's what I do too. I'm looking for that little highlighted paragraph instead of having to explain the quote.

When I was having issues with the quote button it was because in my profile preferences I said no to one of these options below:
.Always allow BBCode :Yes
.Always allow HTML :Yes

I think I chose NO to BBCode. So, if you have no, change to yes. If nothing works, let's wait for katie's help!

Cindi. do you want "highlight" what you want? If that's what you want, see the button to left of emoticon button (one with all colored squares). That's the hilight button - you can choose whatever color you want to use. If that's not it, like LL says, you'll have to wait for Katie or Dex, possibly.

Hi patty and LL, thanks for trying to help. There's nothing at the left of but at the bottom of my emoticons it says HTM and BBC codes are on. When I clicked on that page it says error "no access".

I don't think it's important enough to trouble Katie with, if you ladies don't mind my "________ says" and then the quote.

I'm going out to lunch at Friday's with my friend and I think I'll have one of their famous "margueritas" as an appetizer. LOL

Are you highlighting before or after you hit the quote button? I do mine after and then when its highlighted I hit delete.

Have fun at Friday's. Have a margarita for us.

It looks like you're doing it right. The computer doesn't know which part of the post you want to respond to so it helpfully gives you the whole post. All you have to do is delete the bits you don't want.

The reason this bit didn't work for you was because you broke up part of the instruction to the computer (the bits in the square parenthesis which I've highlighted in red). If you'd kept [quote] as one whole word at the beginning it would have worked perfectly.

In box you get when you hit quote button, In the long row of boxes or buttons across the top, it is between the double blue A and the single blue A. That is the highlight button and you get your colors to choose from, you should highlight after you are in post a reply box, not before.



Hey, you had 2 kids, you should have some idea about what to do with him in bed. If not, there are a lot of sites on the internet where you can see demos. Lots and lots.

Tried that also when I hit the highlight button it gives me all the pretty colors but not the option to post. I'm truly, truly giving up.



I think it would be easier to figure out what to do with George in bed than to achieve that elusive reply box. LOL

When you hit the quote button, it opens up big box with the quote in it. You do your thing in there, cut what you don't want, highlight what you want to. Type your comments. Then hit Send below the box. Just like with quick reply which I presume you are using since you are getting messages to us.

Patty, I've been getting messages to you all by just hitting "Send" in the big box. But I'l try it again. OK, now let's see if it works.

Maybe now that I solved that earth-shattering problem, I can concentrate on what to do with George. I'll have to "sleep on it." Pun intended.

Hi Girls



Just wanted to tell you all that I'll probably be offline for the next 3-1/2 days. Going to NM to granddaughter's wedding. Be back Monday evening. Hope to see lots of good stuff waiting when I get back. If there's a lull in activities, maybe I'll be able to drop in. Hope somebody posts some pics of George on red carpet. Between the wedding and playing with great grandson, Chris (voted the most beautiful baby in NM by a radio station), I'll be pretty busy. New grandson picking me up at A/P. He works 5 min. from A/P. Wedding Saturday.



Hope you all have loads of fun while I'm gone so I have lots to read when I get back.

Thanks for your kind wishes lighter. The NJ shore is being evacuated now. I hope we have a shore left when Irene is done with us and hope everyone on the northeast coast will be OK.

Please keep us in your thoughts. If it is as bad as they say it might be - the power could be out for a long time. What a week in the east. First an earthquake and now a hurricane. Yipes!!!

Hi bluebelle, sounds like you are on the east coast too. We're all waiting for this monster storm to arrive and leave. Warnings are so great that Atlantic City, NJ is forced to close down their casinos.

I'll be holding you up in prayer for protection and hopefully, NO power outages! Well I can think positive about the latter one anyway! LOL

While Irene is still a hurricane in North Carolina, the Weather Channel has downgraded it to a tropical storm by the time it hits NJ, and NY.

Hopefully it will weaken more before it hits up there. You guys have had too much rain already.

The New Jersey Parkway exit 98 southbound will be shut down as of 8 pm tonight, along with other southbound roads. This means that people who live at the shore who chose to not evacuate will not be able to be rescued. Gov. Christie said at a press conference that these people are on their own and can't expect to be rescued.

Cindi - Thanks for that info. I hadn't heard that. I live in Westchester NY and we lose power on a sunny day. Just a little freaked out about this storm.

Hang tight to everyone on the east coast! I hope it downgrades to just a storm by the time it reaches you.
