George did commercials for Fiat in Italy. Another shoe-in from George?

I know it's about the money for George, but is it a little bit PR to "sell" him to the Italian people? He's been doing those commercials for several years, but why are they always foreign commercials. I've only heard of him doing the Budweiser commercial here in the States. Maybe they pay better across the pond?

IMO he may not want Americans to know he does commercials. I think it also helps with name recognition in Europe. When his films are released they know who he is.

I think its pretty common for u.s. movies actors to do commercials in Europe. For the name recognition and the cash. It also does not make them look like they are selling out to the population at home.

I can't find any substantiation for this, but I thought for a long time, it was considered bad taste for movie stars to sell products in the US (aside from makeup). Then (if I recall correctly) Catherine Zeta-Jones broke the barrier with her T-Mobile stuff. Or was it Jamie Lee Curtis? But it was fairly recently (early 2000s).

As Bunny says, it seems the bigger stars prefer to keep their mongering overseas, to preserve their reps with Americans. Because, you know, we could never find out what's happening across the pond! Duh.

I think there is alot of overseas advertising done in Japan too.

Since I am absolutely sure she'll never return to Leverage, I'm sure they're not bothered by anything she does now.

No, she wasn't killed and they did kind of leave it open for a possible return, but according to EVERYONE on their website for the show, NO ONE wants her back. And these are diehard Leverage fans who write on that board!!

She won't be going back to Leverage during the interview with her and Tim she said she wouldn't be. Doesn't surprise me they went as far as shooting her from behind when she was talking etc only so many ways to cover up a bad actress. And when you consider there not exactly up there with the best it didn't bode well for her. Funny enough besides these commercials she is doing for Italy she hasn't gotten any more work in the states...George can only have so many favours. This add looks for a car but then I don't speak Italian I gether they are trying to be funny. Are there any actual performers on this show or is it all about them?

Taking care of her pet-owning responsibilities, Elisabetta Canalis was spotted walking her two little dogs in Los Angeles yesterday (January 17).
The Italian model/actress looked lovely in a white tank top with Nike athletic shorts and a hoodie as she went for a jog while the paparazzi looked on.
In relationship news, Elisabetta is said to be catching baby fever and wants to start procreating with her boyfriend of a year and a half, George Clooney.
An insider revealed, "She wants a baby with George. As much as George has recently fought the idea of marriage and family, he is finally thinking about settling down. But Elisabetta doesn't even really care if they get married. She has a laid-back European mentality and doesn't need a wedding right away."

I like the trailer, it's funny. It's a parody, and a play on countless 'mission' scenes in movies, where the 'protagonists' gather to receive their orders, are told how important team spirit is and how they all have to work together, while the leader (Gianni Morandi, the key host) talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. Just very lighthearted. It's one of 3 tv spots in advance of the festival, to appeal to an Italian audience for whom the festival is a big deal. Bit on it here:

In the first spot Morandi pushes Elizabeth, Belen, Luke and Paul to form a united group, but, ironically, begins to play around a misunderstanding by some to the stereotypes of popular American TV series. In an underground garage Captain Morandi in the guise of what appears to be a cunning smuggler, reaches his four loyal and informed them of the object of the meeting: a luxury car big engine. The promo continues with Morandi repeating them makes them they are a team and we must act together, do a thorough work and without incident. At the turn of framing Belen and Elizabeth are busy washing the car, while Luke and Paul cleaned the windows. At that point comes from the driver's Morandi with his hands in his pockets all are working except him. The promo ends with Morandi delivery room watching what will become 'the new catchphrase: "Sanremo 2011. The team is ready."

RE Shorts - that was my first thought, but maybe she bought them to make everyone think that.

RE Hoodie - I've seen guys do that, but all females tie it around their waist. Unless that's the way they carry a hoddie in Europe.

SanRemo Festival from 15th to 19 th February. I would be greatly surprised if the hosts did not have to be there a few days before the opening to practice (for lack of a better word).

Also, I think George might be starting the movie end of January. As Director and Producer, he may need to be there earlier than the other actors to set-up.

George lives right near a hiking trail up a very big hill. What did she do go searching for the paps? She looks mean and I don't know where they get lovely looking from. I know she is working out but that hoodie is doing her no favours. she works out all the time she knows how hot it gets, maybe she is having a really bad hair day!

She looks awful - If I was going to call the paps and take the dogs for a walk I would try and look cuter. She looks really butch here.

Whilst they went a bit hardcore on the photo-shopping for the print ads taking out any emotion or features on her facde to make her look doll-like, in the video she does look good and professional. At least in this gig, they didn't make her look overly trampy like the Cavalli job. More girl next door.

She is making some serious cash with modelling contracts in Italy trading on the association with George. Although back when she was tweeting, didn’t she post a photo of herself getting her hair done at a different hair salon in Milan? Was it not Aldo Coppola who is the high-end stylist to the celeb set? Ely is pictured front and centre at a party to celebrate both his 70th birthday and 40 year career held in Milan in February last year – at the same time that George was hosting the Haiti telethon in LA. Oh well, it's a job. Keeps her in the spotlight and in Prada handbags.

Why were they washing the car? Or was that supposed to be part of the mission? The Leverage fans didn't take well to Eli that is part of the reason she isn't going to be back. Going by some of the new publicity Eli has been marked as the Diva. Not being in Italy when they expect her too cause she has "work" in LA. So far one car commercial which looks done and George is in Michigan. She must be going back to Italy soon. Wow she is going to need a really long holiday sounds like she will be working for a whole week!
