Betty would certainly not show up on ABC This Morning, although that would have been sheer AWESOMENESS. Like if she just stood next to his chair in a bikini, running her fingers thru his hair while he gave his earnest answers. At the bottom of the screen it would say "George Clooney: Actor/Activist/Manwhore"

It seems like he and Prendergast are having a goatee-growing contest. P is winning.

Lighter, I was just on Viper's today, and they still just have the one article that Law posted on 12-5-10, the one about George being called gay by Belen's boyfriend. They were on hiatus for quite awhile and then posted this article and nothing since. I wonder what happened?

Maybe Berlesconi (or whatever the hell their dictator's name is - oops, their leader) who OWNS the media in Italy doesn't want Law's input on their "beloved Queen" (or Italian Queen as Lainey calls her). So true, PigLove! I seen the segment this morning and all I could think about was Betty's beach pics. When he commented if they wanted to be taken off the terrorist list, they needed to act legitimate, all I could think of is how can anyone take him legitimately and seriously? I know Betty was the one running around the beach but all the photos had Clooney's name tied to them. He really doesn't think her actions reflect on his character?

Lolo, I think that some might say that it might already be too late. Sure he does the humanitarian stuff, but even some joke at that. I think this relationship, whether it's really love or not, has backfired. I know that some in Hollyweird have done much worse than this and have staged a comeback, but George is going to have to do something ridiculously fantastic to win some of his fans back. Not me, of course, since I am filled with Cloonyliciousness, but I'm just sayin'.

It's funny. Twenty years ago, GTC's choice of arm candy would have had zero effect on his ability to garner respect or credibility. But today, I think it does. Or is it just his female fans who care?

That and he's doing more important things with his life and making a better contribution to mankind and his personal life makes a difference. If it didn't, IMHO, politicians, CEOs, etc. would not have to resign when their personal life comes into question.

Right now, George is able to separate the two and the mainstream media keeps them separate, too. For now!

On some of the entertainment sites with comments, it appears that some are men and don't seem to be totally taken with Elisabetta. Of course, some are the normal male who would *u*k anything that moved, but overall, I don't think George has his fan's support for her.

Sisieq, I agree that the media doesn't put the two together, i.e. professional vs. personal life. However, the media isn't necessary the view of the public.

Melbert, I think you underestimate the quiver Clooney generates with what Lainey calls "The Minivan Majority." They aren't paying attention to the gossip blogs and only get the People Magazine version of Betty. They don't overanalyze, and they don't really care about his personal life.

I think he's more in trouble if he doesn't make a CHARMING movie soon. Something to make the Minivan get all quivery over him again. And he will probably need to get back on Letterman or Ellen too. The Minivan doesn't watch This Week with Christiane Amanpour.

Of course, if he just wants to get fat, grow his Zorba The Greek beard, and DIRECT, then he can sleep with whoever he likes.

I know that you are right with the Minivaners, and honestly I want to believe in the old George. I think that the Descendents is going to be the movie to endear George to all. From the write-ups and the pics we got, seeing him as a vulnerable "father" other than a vulnerable "loner", we will see George out of his comfort zone with all his films playing himself (as so many have said). I hope that 2011 is HIS year!

The way she spreads and flails her legs about, and likes tattoos, maybe she could get a tattoo on the top inside of her thigh that reads "enter at own risk"

I keep on hearing how his private life has detrimentally affected his professional life and yet, where is the evidence for this? On the contrary, The American has made to date in excess of $64M. That's not counting dvd sales or tv rights, still to be factored in. For an indy arthouse 'european' film that was expected to flounder, gasp a bit and then die, that's more than a very decent return. Surely this would have been the year where he would have had a serious setback if Eli is such a handicap for him?

He needs an new audience and that he may have generated one this year is surely a good thing since he (apparently?) wants to be taken seriously as an actor/director and not as a piece of ass. Although that's kind of out of his hands now since his piece-of-ass expiry date has passed.

LOL! George is getting old enuff to get moobs. But George is usually in pretty good shape. We'll have to keep a boob alert on George! !

He may have taken EC to all his awards, but not to any after parties and he ended up being a no show at a prestigious Hollywood fundraiser where his name as part of the advertising. For me, that says alot, IMHO.

A great big "+" Caged. I think alot of people are comparing his box office with the Ocean's to his "lesser" grossing films. Doesn't necessarily mean they aren't good films, just different audiences. Ocean's never won any awards (major anyway) that I know of. Even crap stuff by other people , in my opinion, have won awards.

There is a BIG twist in this movie that should do that! His character makes a heart-wrenching decision that makes one question one's self if you could/would do the same thing.
