They still are getting her name wrong,why do they always refer to her as Elizabeth Hurley! It's got to piss her off!

I still find it amusing Lucy. It's like they always refer to her as George's gf. She'll NEVER be known just as Elisabetta Canalis. No identity of her own.

Do you think she cares? It seems to me as long as she gets her name out there she's happy.

Her name always is that when any Italian article is translated into English. Its not done on purpose. LOL, its probably the real Hurley who gets upset.

At first I was going to say - what an effin' joke, but realized that Belen Rodriguez was part of the music fest, too. Even though it was cancelled I personally feel this was setup because of her being with George.

No it is also odd that they are talking about it even though it has been cancelled. I don't believe it, sounds more madeup then anything. How would them going give soldiers a preview of a concert? If there were bands going too maybe. But three hosts who would really care? I think it is trying to show that eli is willing to do something humanitarian of course it would look better if she actually did something. Lysa Heslov is going to Haiti soon although I doubt Eli would be getting an invite.

I doubt any humanitarian effort on her part would do much for her image at this late in the game,it would be unbelievable!!!!!!

I am quite ignorant about other religions and beliefs, but do they insist that their women be covered up in Afghanistan? Maybe having Eli parade around in her butt floss, the bad guys would all lay down their guns and surrender - end of war! She could save the day!!!! Major CS!!!!!!

I'm a bit confused if the soldier was killed on the last day of the year and they were supposed to go Christmas Eve the reason for the cancellation makes no sense which makes me smell a BS story. Something to make them all look good they need a heck of alot more then that to help out Eli's image as anything other then a wannabe actress/tv presenter who likes to sleep with rich men and do a couple of days of work a year.

Had to go back and re-read it Dex. She was in Cabo frolicking on the beach so that's the real reason they didn't go. I'm sorry that someone was killed, but using that as their excuse for not going when they were supposed to be there 10 days before he was killed - yup major BS!!!

I do think they chose wrong her hair generally looks awful and even after all the primping with everyone it doesn't look anything differant then it usually does. Although it is washed! Took me awhile to even work out what the add was for.

And I disagree re her hair. I think she and her hair look great here, and this is a much more honest hair ad than countless other ones I've seen, where the model is wearing hairpieces and even wigs while the makers make claims that their products will achieve the same look. Here, what you see is what you get - clean, shiny, well-cut, nicely styled, natural hair.

I'm not a huge fan of Betty, but I don't understand the people who say she's ugly. (Beauty is subjective, I know, but is "ugly" really subjective?)

I mentioned this in IMDb today too, but it's worth remembering that men have much lower standards than women when it comes to beauty.

Essentially, as long as a woman isn't hideously ugly, isn't too badly deformed, isn't obese or majorly anorexic and conforms to average height and number of body parts, they tend to think she's fine. Someone who's clearly easily available for sex is a definite plus point.

I do believe they get more picky when they start looking for a woman they want to spend more than a couple of nights with, but then we all know that George isn't that way inclined.

Yes, there is a touch of exaggeration and sarcasm in my above words but you all get what I mean. For most men (MOST, not every single man on the planet!) she's attractive. If she also matches a man's personal likes then there are plenty who would even go as far as to say she's beautiful.

IMO If you show a pic of her to guys, most would say she's attractive. Before you try this test, remember that the tone of your voice or the way you show the picture will warn the smarter men that 'attractive' isn't the answer you're looking for and will reply accordingly but I think without that direction, the posters who insist that she's ugly and masculine will be disappointed by an average man's response.

A fan candid on the beach 2 and half years ago where she looks ordinary? I could post a candid of her where she looks much more glam and attractive and it would prove what? That she, like most people, takes good and bad pics. And out of what league? What league exactly is she playing in? She's not competing with anyone, or trying to be anyone other than who she is. Far as I can see, she is getting on with her life and making the most of the opps coming her way. Bottom line, companies are using her to advertise their products in Italy where she is well known, regardless of Clooney, and regardless of whether people like her or not, they would not be using her if they didn't like her look or think it worked.

This thing about her saying she's not a model: I took that comment when she said it to mean that she's too short for catwalk modelling, it was in relation to her height. Maybe allow her a little leeway because of the language thing and because she seemed a bit nervous in that Leverage interview. And no, she didn't say she could have been a catwalk model were she taller, just that she was too short for it.

Who'd be Clooney's girlfriend? I hope the grief is worth is for her because no matter what she does, it's wrong.

Women have higher standards when it comes to beauty? Let's call a spade a spade here: that translates into women are far bitchier when it comes to assessing another woman's attractiveness. Which they are, and it's depressing read. As for men having 'lower standards'? Really? Men are far less critical of women than women so therefore they have lower standards?? What a depressing perspective and not one I share. Maybe they're just nicer than women and fail to see things to criticise, how about that for an alternative view? I'll take men and their 'lower standards' any day of the week over the endless criticism of women by women all over the internet.

And with respect, Katie, very little of that applies here. So much of the criticism Eli gets is because she's regarded as not good enough for George Clooney. End of.

@ Katie...to lend some unsolicited testimony to what you've said above about most men and how they would react to Betty, my 24 y.o. son came walking into the room just this past holiday and I happened to be in one of the private forums with the recent half naked pictures of Betty up on the screen as he walked by and he STOPPED dead in his tracks when he glanced at the screen and inquired...'WHO'S THAT?" I told him to roll his tongue back in his head and for several minutes he proceeded to tell me how hot he thought she was and he's in a committed relationship (but of course he's not dead!)

And regarding some pictures being good and some bad, I have RARELY seen still pictures of myself that I like. I don't take good pictures and the camera really doesn't like me, except when I sat for professional head shots...those were good but that's a rare occasion. Yet I have been video taped working and look good on tape, so go figure!

I didn't realise that was her in the photie with the 2 lads...I think she looks quite nice there better than now IMO.

Betty looks normal and cute in the beach shot (although her belted swimsuit is mockworthy). I haven't had a lot of experience, but isn't it true that many celebrities (except supermodels) are underwhelming in person?

Katiedot is totally right that men have more "basic" standards of beauty than women. And Caged is also right that it's a sad state of affairs when women can be so vicious. I would argue that we've been socialized to compete with one another for generations, and it might be one of the toughest last habits of the "old days" for us to kick.

Oh, and just because I don't think Betty is ugly doesn't mean I think she's good enough for our George.

Bette looks good in some shots and bad in others like most people. But then most aren't being paid to spruik a product. That commercial is for hair products until they actually showed them I had no idea why she was dancing around, laying on her back with her short dress up or pulling her dress down at the shoulders.

Her hair isn't her best feature and it has often looked straggly and limp, it looks ok there but nothing great.

Men's standards change more so by how many drinks they have had they may start out picky but by the end of the night that tends to have changed. I think men and women can be as bad as each other, I have never met a man who doesn't check out a womens body first and I think alot of women check out shoes etc. I think both sexes are as bad as each other.

Eli can look pretty at Venice in that green dress she looked lovely and in some pics we have seen she has looked good. But without the right makeup, lighting etc she really is nothing special to look at she can look very harsh and smug not what I would call a natural beauty.

I have met a few models and even not all done up some are still stunning. Helena Christiansen is lovely and very sweet in person and drop dead good looking, there was a lovely danish model whose name I didn't know and she was just as lovely.

When she said she didn't model I took it as model not just catwalk and she didn't want people looking up her old topless modeling shots cause now she wants to be an actress. Not that it seems to be working out for her. She hasn't gotten any work out of Leverage she seems to only be getting it from Italy that alone should be giving her a huge hint.

As for george's next girlfriend she will be put through the same wringer if she is from the same sort of mold. Even Celine got a lot of nasty comments although her I really liked.
