A wedding date and venue (?)

I have a feeling that today is their wedding day. I believe that the whole "september wedding" thing was leaked in purpose. Next month every media outlet will be in high alert making it almost impossible to marry in secret and if the wait until october the same will apply because the bands made it clear its going to happen in the near future.

Best man is an interesting question. Obviously, it's not Brad (seriously, magazines?).  But does he go with Rande or Grant?  My money's on Grant.

My money still on Nick Clooney.  Georege really respects him and it means he wouldn't have to choose between male friends.

I have also been wondering for some time if it would be the weekend.  It's a long weekend in the US.  Plus it seems one of the only ways to outwit the paps it to do it when they are not expecting it--which would mean before the dates speculated.  Guess we will find out in due course. 

I do think if he does not have something understated, Brad and Angie are going to make him look like a compulsive attention seeker.

Brad and Angie had the wedding they wanted, George and Amal will have the wedding they want. Their day has nothing to do with the others . I hope they release at least a couple of pictures.

Which do you think would take more attention away from the bride - an Angie and Jen faceoff or the Obamas?

Either way, it would definitely be about THEM and not George/Amal wedding!

Joanna - I was joking, but I do think if they were both invited ( Jen and Angie) it would be pretty awkward.
 Actually, I didn't know George was such great friends with Jennifer Anniston - especially as he's gotten so close to Brad over the last few years. I'd be really surprised if she was invited.

I'm even wondering if Brad & Angie are invited, since George wasn't invited to their wedding - didn't even seem to know about it til it was over.

Now I'm thinking it might just be family, the Boys and Rande & Cindy - and maybe Matt. Who knows? We could go on guessing forever.

Lizzy, George has been friends with Jennifer for many years as when he was on ER, Friends shot on the same lot at Warner Brothers.  I think that he was better friends with that other blonde that played Phoebe (I can't remember her name...).

Thanks, Mel I didn't follow him that closely back then and didn't know he knew her  that well. Considering he knows most of Hollywood, I can't imagine him inviting everyone he's friendly with - the guest list would read like the Hollywood phone book! That's why I think he's going to stick with family, the Boys and a few really close friends.

Aniston and Theroux, Courtney Cox and the Kimmels were all at His Nibs' party in Cabo at Christmas. (programmes with Himself and Theroux - with pix - have been featured on Kimmel)

And it was Kudrow's neurosurgeon brother who sorted out His Nibs' injuries, leaking fluid etc

PAN - I just assumed they were all invited to the party because they were all vacationing at the same place at the same time. Cabo is a favorite getaway for A-listers. I didn't think it meant that they were close friends.

Just to throw another wedding venue out there: what about the home he bought in Tuscany earlier this year? Maybe the renovations are complete and the wedding will take place there. That would be under the radar!

I don't think everyone he knows is a close friend. He even said that he and brad don't see each other that often. I think they will keep it to really close family and friends.

During the summit ( violence against women) a few months ago Brad and Jolie were there (Jolie as one of the organizers), yet they sat away from Alamuddin and there was never any sign that the 3 ever interacted. I always found that odd, and attributed it at the time to them not being formally introduced to each other. But could it be that the friendship between George and Brad has sort of cooled down? I would think that if your best firend's fiancee is in attendance, maybe you can say a quick hello? So I would think that Brad and Angie are not on the list of wedding guests. That's my hunch.

But the truth is they didnt attend the summit on the same day.

And even if they did they the seating arrangements are set by other people.

I don't think Brad is in George's inner circle of close friends or vice versa so they may not have told George.

Why would they wait until the end if the month? So close to the beginning of shooting for Our Brand of Crisis. What? No honeymoon? I think it will be sooner than later. And I do think it will be in Como. George can control the situation better if it's at his home or the Villa d'Este.

I think the more possible dates and locations that are floated around the media the happier Camp Clooney is. They've got everyone going in circles trying to guess when and where the wedding will be. Sadistic little brat must be laughing himself sick!

Villa d'Este is likely to be choc-a-bloc with motor racing types this weekend. Italian Grand Prix and Monza not far away.

Maybe George has gotten special permission to hold the wedding at Oleandra. If he didn't it would not be legal. In Italy town halls and  licensed venues are used for the civil ceremony. If he has we may get reports on caterers and things happening at the villa.

Three days ago George Clooney dropped the bombshell while at Andrea Bocelli's Figh Night in Florence, Italy, that he was going to wed his stunning fiancée Amal Alamuddin in Venice, Italy - and not Lake Como, as previously thought - 'in a couple of weeks.'
But on Wednesday UsWeekly had even more intriguing news to share: the publication claimed the couple will actually tie the knot first in London on Friday.

'They'll have a civil ceremony on September 12 with their parents present,' the weekly quoted a source as saying.


Their wedding in Venice will take place on September 27, according to Us.
'Sixty of their nearest and dearest will converge on Venice's Hotel Cipriani,' the weekly said it was told by its source. John Krasinski and his wife Emily Blunt as well as George's ex-ER co-star Julianna Margulies will all be in attendance, it was also revealed.

I don't understand why they would have two ceremonies? US Weekly is not the only pub to claim this. I think the Mirror UK said the same but don't understand the point of two ceremonies?

Why did the bann state they would be married in Italy? I would think the legally binding ceremony would be the one that must be declared.

Guess she's not going to be going to Greece .
