I am beyond furious with George. At a time when it is imperative that Biden gets our full & vocal support, calling for him to drop out of the race now is totally irresponsible & a gift to the opposition. It's a bad idea for both political and practical reasons.  How many big-money donors are going to follow George's lead? How much will this hurt the campaign? 

Honestly. this election isn't about the candidates. It's about the platforms they're running on. Support Biden now to defeat Project 2025. If you want someone else, wait until after Biden is elected. If he can't handle the job he can step down & Kamala can step up.

Yes, I'm quite surprised not to see Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on the platform together a bit more during rallies.

And for goodness sake, the last person who needs a boost is the bloke from the Opposition - that bloke who's only interest is not the country but himself!

I'm furious at every single one of them. What are they thinking? It is the epitome of elitism to dump the system that, for the most part, works - especially when they and their families won't be hurt (would, in fact, probably thrive) under a fascist and criminal regime. None of the rest of us have homes in Europe we can escape to.

Biden is the nominee we chose. Pundits and celebrities and influencers don't get to undo that at their whim. And are we going to spend the next two months fighting about how to choose an alternative, while the other side lies and cheats their way into the White House? Screw George Clooney and anybody else who thinks they know better than, one, the voters who have to live everyday lives in this country, and two, almost 250 years of history. 

I don't give a fuck that Biden is old. I knew how old he was when I cast my vote for him. I wish he'd done better at the debate, but one night doesn't change my mind about him or the capable and productive administration he put together. I am better off. My family is better off. My city, state, and country have been made better by President Biden. He can rest all he wants. If rest doesn't work, we have Kamala Harris. That's the way it works. Biden is smart, fair, and compassionate. The other guy is a criminal, predator, and aspiring dictator. If we change the plan now, evil walks in the door of the White House in January, with detailed marching orders. George and his monied cronies will be fine, but this country will not recover for several generations, if at all.

Take your money and your opinion, and go to the south of France, George.

Clooney doesn't want Trump any more than the rest of you do. He loves Biden or he wouldnt have thrown him ths fundraiser.

He quite obviously saw something while there that made him question his ability to do the job. I don't think it's just his age. No one gives a crap about that.

Ida, what George probably saw was a man who was tired from following a grueling itinerary. I'm not sure how many of us would be able to function as well as Pres. Biden does considering his schedule. In one day he traveled from the US to Europe & back, through at least 4 time zones  - and he had a cold. Just imagine the jet lag! All evidence is that Biden is quite capable of continuing to do his job  though at this point I wouldn't care if he was comatose - I'd still vote for him.  It's about making sure that tfg and Project 2025 don't come anywhere near the White House ever again.

George may not be as politically savvy as he thinks he is. What he's advocating is ill-advised and damaging to the Democrats' chances. Hopefully, most big money donors won't follow his lead. Way2Old is right He should go grow grapes in the south of France.

Just saw that George is trending on Twitter. He didn't make any friends by asking Biden to step down.

No, he didn't. Every Comments section of the industry outlets carrying the story that I've read today is full of people saying that he has ulterior motives, most of which have to do with Amal and the ICC, and all of which make him look bad. The consensus can pretty much be summed up as, "George Clooney can fuck all the way off."

Still waiting to see a plan to replace the chosen nominee that doesn't disrespect the ELECTED Black/Indian woman VP and gets this unknown better choice who hasn't beaten tRump on every state ballot in time and without legal challenges, for a NOVEMBER election.

I don't know if I'm more disgusted or broken-hearted. Never thought I'd tell George Clooney to KMBA in the way the phrase is intended.

A lot of comments I've seen claim George is getting even with Biden because Amal was involved with the ICC's charging of Netanyahu & Hamas and Biden didn't support it. I'd hate to think he,s that petty, but it sure looks like it.

If he had any constructive suggestions as to who could replace Biden at this late date I might be less disappointed in him, but he doesn't. I'm not even sure if the finances are available to run a new candidate. One post I saw claimed that according to campaign finance laws the war chest Biden has amassed can't be transferred to another candidate - except, possibly, Kamala Harris. If she's not the candidate that money can't be used.

Bottom line: George needs to either make it known that he's still going to donate to whomever the Democratic party runs or STFU and go sit this one out in Europe, where he spends most of his time anyway.

Last year, I sent President Biden a message asking him to NOT DEBATE Trump, under any circumstances, because you CANNOT DEBATE a pathological lying, narcissistic, megla maniac. Don't take my word for it, read "The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump". It would be a Trump shit-show, because he has no respect for the moderators, his opponent, any rules, the law or the American people. It's not to late to use this to offset his bullying and lying about the event, call it that after saying it was a Trump shit-show.

All Biden had to do was say, there's nothing to debate, our records speak for themselves. And after the felony convictions, he should say, I don't debate convicted felons and architects of a coup attempt on American.

But, Biden was being respectful to a presumptive candidate by agreeing to participate in a "civilized" debate. Trump has no civility!

What I saw at the "event" (can't call it a debate, because Trump did what he always does, breaks the rules for his benefit) was a lying bully, disrespecting the forum, disrespecting the moderators, disrespecting his opponent, disrespecting the American people, not following the format, not answering the questions, constantly going back off topic to lie about immigrants, "lions and tigers and bears, oh my" (I mean really? Where are all of the prisons and asylums that the imaginary people are coming from? Where's the proof? Nobody asks that.), to frighten his cult followers, and score ratings points.

Oh crap, he managed to scare the Democrats too!

The "fall-out" should not be about Biden. Even if he was 101, he's still the only candidate to save democracy and the world!

The only way Biden should play Trump is at Camp David, with 3 people with live camera feeds tracking and marking Trump’s ball location.  EVERY attendee, Secret Service included, must submit to a search for golf balls.  

Because Trump would say Biden cheated with trick golf balls, golf balls would have to be purchased, off the shelf, by a 2-person team, one from each side, placed in a lockable courier bag and escorted to the course, just before the round begins.

Lizzy, you're completely right about Biden's state at the time of the fundraiser. For the "debate," it was not so much the travel as it was the fatigue of working as President and preparing for the night. But in both cases, clearly Biden's stutter was triggered, and what everyone saw were the secondary behaviors that go along with stuttering and trying to control it. It is a known medical complex. 

And it is not dementia. It has nothing to do with cognitive ability.

Also - and I'm not going to argue about this, because I can't be dissuaded - CNN altered the sound on Biden's microphone. His voice was scratchy, yes, but there is no reason for the difference in sound QUALITY between Biden and the racist criminal predator traitor on the stage.

Way2Old - As far as the debate goes, even he says he just had a bad night. We all have them sometimes & it doesn't mean anything other than he had a  bad night. Doesn't mean he can't keep doing the great job he's been doing for the last 3 1/2 years.

I've seen the issue of sound altering discussed on Twitter. I don't know enough about sound engineering to know if it was tampered with or not. It wouldn't surprise me though.

Buy ads to showcase Trump’s nefarious deeds.  Place large signs on vehicles and drive them around his gatherings (make sure covert private security accompanies said vehicles).


Take a page from their play book, everyone has the same response to the question.   For example, What debate?  That was not a debate.  Trump did what he always does, breaks the rules, disrespects everything and lies for ratings.  Like being in a cage with a shit-throwing monkey.  That was not Presidential behavior, but the behavior of a tyrant.   Or, Biden has and is rebuilding ALL of America from the ruins of another republican administration.  The world needs him to continue his progress.  Or, how many people half his age, with his schedule, has had a bad day?  That doesn't negate all of the great days he's had, or will have.  I can tell you this, he won't ever destroy America to feed his ego.
