The most beautiful part about all of this is that George reportedly proposed to Amal at home!
“George cooked a meal himself for Amal at home on April 22, then he surprised her by getting down on bended knee and presenting her with the ring,” a source told Page Six. “He was so happy she accepted, he was calling friends with the news later that night,” the source continued.
He popped the question with a gorgeous diamond engagement ring, valued at $750,000.
The report also said that the couple would marry this fall.
“It’s only four months away but they want to get married at the end of the summer, in early September, before Amal returns to work,” the source told Page Six.

George Clooney is set to marry Amal Alamuddin on September 20, 2014 in Venice Italy bringing to an end his perennial bachelorhood which has earned him a playboy reputation and even sparked homosexuality questions. Clooney's singlehood will come to an end as well as put to rest any questions about his sexuality when he ties the knot in a move which he declares as "Marrying Up."

While Clooney is a well-known HollywoodA-lister who is not only an actor but also a producer and a humanitarian activist, Amal is not exactly chopped liver herself. Often referred to only as a British Human Rights Lawyer, Amal represents some very high profile clients. The future Mrs. Clooney is a mix of beauty and brains and works as an adviser to Kofi Annan, theUnited Nations envoy to Syria. She is also part of the legal team representing Julian Assange of Wikileaks fame.

With such high profile clients and many other achievements on her resume, Amal certainly does not need a man to make a mark in the world. This is perhaps what prompted Clooney to declare that he is "Marrying up" when asked about Amal during interviews in the middle of the battle with British publication Daily Mail. The battle against Daily Mail was the result of a story claiming that Amal's mother was going around telling people that she had objections towards the upcoming nuptials in a faith-related issue. Clooney released his own statement stating that the article was fabricated and that its publication's claims are endangering his family members.

Meanwhile, with wedding plans going full steam ahead, the couple decided against holding their wedding at Clooney's personal estate in Lake Como due to the possible commotion that the wedding will cause. Clooney had both his guests and his neighbours in mind when making the decision. The couple opted instead, to hold the wedding in Venice, also still in Italy but in a more private location that they have yet to disclose.
The soon-to-be-married pair are no strangers to Italian weddings as they attended awedding in the Chianti region of Italy earlier this month. The bride was Amal's cousin and Clooney's bride-to-be officiated the wedding.

Canada doesn´t make sense... Venice does, but I don´t think to much friends of them will be able to go to Venice... maybe they do another party in USA after the wedding.

I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry. This info appeared in the Christian Post on May 13th. Maybe that's where the first story came from. Venice seems much more likely.

I'm sorry you trade in an anonymous economic Muscatel wine (certainly not produced in Italy) with Moscato, excellent dessert wine that can be still or lightly sparkling and sweet.

I think, for what it's worth, they may have already married.
Within the last month, possibly around the time all relatives were over.
But to avoid paps they all piled into a private plane for some remote location. Three days taking over a small hotel, made to sign a 6 week confidentiality clause, which would bring us to September, when pictures would be released along with the cat formally out of the bag.
Add a bit of spicy gossip to another wise dull month, everyone back to work/school.
A totally flawless PR/Personal way to handle things.
Also, might explain the "Harry's exit" tipsy on honeymoon/love.jmo
Who do think arranged it Stan or Baria?

Sounds reasonable. I wonder... if it will be this year at all? We all know how George loves to pull everyone's chain. No noted activity at the Villa, though. Maybe a safari to unwind out of sight ( no pun intended) from all the attention, both sets of in-laws arriving, blah blah blah. Since this seriously has turned into a soap opera, stay tuned Razz

Yeah, but the cousin and bride spent what should have been their honeymoon at the Villa. Unless they're weird, or cheap ( hey honey, let's save a few bucks and stay with Amal and what's-his-name at his villa for a few nights), why there, why then. Can't recall... was everyone there at the same time?

It is true that currently the main restaurant is closed but it is known that the castle has a large kitchen that can be used by a hired caterer for wedding receptions. It has a large parking lot and is very secluded, great for privacy. In Sept. 2010 a countess from Milan got married in the church of Perledo and then the reception was held at the Castel di Vezio with almost 800 guests.
