Don't let Daily Mail hear this but maybe George and the boys are on that bike trip to Ireland. George said he wanted to get Bono on a bike. This was said after Amal was in the picture, cannot remember before or after the engagement.

Re: A wedding date and venue (?)
Spies tell The Post that Clooney and Alamuddin are on the brink of marrying. The ceremony will be held in Italy — Clooney has a home on Lake Como — and is slated for late August or early September.
Clooney has dispatched a team of designers and tailors from Giorgio Armani to outfit him and his groomsmen.
Alamuddin, meanwhile, has commissioned a gown personally designed by Oscar de la Renta, sources say.

I could see Oscar, the shower was in New York and Oscar is located in New York. I think before the end of August the wedding will happen. It was reported that Amal had to go back to work in September when they first got engaged.

Re: A wedding date and venue (?)
To my knowledge, George and Amal have been under the radar since leaving on that private plane about a week ago. Here is my "hunch." Where on the face of this earth can GC go and not have anybody report his whereabouts? Answer: Augusta, Ky. I read on FB a couple of years ago that Bridget Clooney mentioned that when George goes to Augusta, nobody says anything cos they take care of him. Paps are not going to be hanging around a small town like that either. I wonder if all this talk, etc., about Venice, Lake Como, etc., is just a red herring put out there to throw people off the scent. Perhaps the wedding is going to/already has taken place in Augusta. Then a quiet stateside honeymoon. I was thinking about this for awhile now. Remember when the engagement news came out and Cindy mentioned to someone that the wedding was in September? Why would a good friend mention when the wedding would take place if they were concerned about paps and commotion? Also, since GC has most of his family and extended family and friends in Augusta that would make it convenient. He could easily get his Aunt Rosemary's kids (his cousins and family) out to Augusta by plane along with "the boys" to land in Cincinnati with a group of friends and family picking people up by car to carry them to Augusta for the ceremony. Also, Nick and Nina painted their home and cut the bushes and they haven't done that in years but it was done a few months ago. George was also in Augusta back in June for a family reunion(which he usually does not attend as he is in Italy at that time) but he came this year...perhaps to make plans? Isn't it odd that Amal did not go to see his extended family and such at that time? Perhaps not because they would be coming soon to be married. This is all conjecture, and I am wondering has anyone else thought this lately?

I don't think George would put his parent's town through a wedding. Plus you have to consider all of Amal's family.
I think it will be in Europe.

Well... I have think about KY wedding because of that, for all the family moving to Europe, but then Amal´s family would be do the same, moving to KY. I have no idea how they´re gonna do it. But the wedding "licence" says Italy.

Re: A wedding date and venue (?)
I'm going to guess Martha's Vineyard, USA. Reasons: no one would suspect it; the president is there on vacationn, which means the Secret Service has roads blocked off and the airspace is restricted (no paps in choppers). And maybe they're good enough friends that President Obama would decide to go out for dinner one night to distract everyone from a special event happening elsewhere on the island.
That said, I really do think it'll be in Italy. I think it has to be since she put it on the paperwork for the banks.

Re: A wedding date and venue (?)
If it weren't for the banns, I was thinking Augusta, too. Could she get married here in the US even though the banns said Italy? I thought they were a public notice that a wedding was going to take place so anyone who objected (like a spouse) could come forward. I didn't think the location was binding. Is it?

Nope, I don't. Coz apart from anything else there's the other side of the family to consider. London I could see becos that's where Amal and her mother live. Original very early on prediction from her side said Ottawa tho......
Still think it's Venice
And will he let the ex-girlfriends go first? Stacy baby People pix, then La Canalis and hubby..And then......major release of pix.......

I don't think the exes even pass through his mind anymore, if they ever did. They git their compensation he doesn't have to tiptoe around their PR. I think it was probably this weekend; it's been way too quiet. That last batch of pics we got were a few days old when we saw them, so it's been close to two weeks without a new sighting. Maybe People will announce their exclusive tomorrow morning.

Re: A wedding date and venue (?)
Well, here are some things to consider:
I don't think George is married. He has too many friends in the business to get married during Emmys week.
Lots of people consider the American holiday Labor Day the end of the summer, most people are off, and Hollywood goes back to work right after. That's Monday, Sept. 1st.
I don't think he'd marry the weekend of the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
The Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah (sp?) is the evening of Sept. 24th until the evening of Sept 26th (Wednesday through Friday). Hard to travel to make a Saturday wedding that weekend.
Supposedly, a film George is producing (and maybe acting in?) starts principal photography Sept 29th in New Orleans.
What does that leave...?

Re: A wedding date and venue (?)
Hmm, if they're marrying in Como, or even Venice for that matter, the weather is going to get less pleasant as the month moves into autumn. Yes, northern Italy in late September is infinitely nicer to London, but it's still hit and miss. If they're planning something relatively outdoors-y then they're better off early in the month.
Not sure that 9/11 anniversary or Rosh Hashanah will feature highly in his planning and I wouldn't be entirely surprised if this was a weekday wedding rather than at the weekend. As all their friends and family are going to have to fly in, they're going to be staying longer than a weekend anyway, so why not make the wedding on a Friday?

To be honest the people that want to be there and can be there will . The wedding is probably built more around Amal and George's schedules.

George Clooney did not marry Amal Alamuddin this weekend while we were obsessing over the Beyonce Video Awards and the Emmys. Now that the international entertainment media shifts its focus to Venice then, it’s not likely he’ll do an Italian wedding during the next two weeks. So there are now new rumours.
Here are the details:
Supposedly there will be a civil ceremony on September 12 in Chelsea, London. That’s a Friday. Then they’ll all head to Venice, well after the festival has wrapped and sh-t has gone back to normal, for a weekend reception celebration starting September 26, my birthday, also a Friday. It’ll be intimate – about 60 people. After that, about a month later on October 25 there will be another party back in England in Buckinghamshire.
There’s your update. For now. Until it all goes back to Como and we have to redirect.

On the 12th I'll be like Meg Ryan in When When Harry Met Sally... what is is she says? Oh yea, what a LOT of women (especially some of his exes) will be secretly saying (or crying) to themselves:
"He just met her... She's supposed to be his transitional person, she's not supposed to be the ONE. All this time I thought he didn't want to get married. But, the truth is, he didn't want to marry ME."

How George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's wedding has the makings of a Hollywood blockbuster
The countdown has begun. No, not to the beginning of the school year, but the much-awaited wedding of George Clooney and his high-flying fiancée, Amal Alamuddin. The couple posted their wedding banns at Chelsea Town Hall earlier this month, and these must be displayed to the public for 16 days before the big day – meaning that, by our calculations, the nuptials of the century are due to take place any day now.
After Brad and Angelina’s secret wedding last Saturday, we are hoping for better things from a Clooney-Alamuddin bash. But what form will it take? More tasteful than May’s Kim Kardashian/Kanye West extravaganza, undoubtedly – but will there be presidents among the guests, snowmobiles on the wedding list and Nespresso for the toast? We piece together some of the rumours and reflect that, at the very least, a wedding where Clooney is the groom and Brad Pitt is best man sounds like the beginning of a Hollywood blockbuster in its own right…
The bride: Amal Ramzi Alamuddin, 36, barrister. Born in Beirut, fluent in French and Arabic, she grew up in Britain and currently works at Doughty Street Chambers in London, specialising in human rights, international law and extradition. Famous clients include Julian Assange (the Wikileaks founder) and Yulia Tymoshenko, the former prime minister of Ukraine. She recently turned down membership of a UN commission to look into possible violations of war in the Israel-Gaza conflict – perhaps because she has a wedding to plan.
The groom: George Timothy Clooney, 53, Oscar-winning actor. Born in Kentucky, he rose to fame as Dr Doug Ross in the TV series ER, and made the leap to Hollywood, starring in films such as Ocean’s Eleven and Gravity. He is the only person to have been nominated for Academy Awards in six different categories. His humanitarian work includes focusing on the Darfur conflict.
The in-laws: Clooney’s mother, Nina Bruce, was a beauty pageant queen and city councilwoman. His father, Nick, is a former TV and game-show host. Amal’s mother, Baria, is the foreign editor of Al Hayat, a widely read Arab newspaper, and has made numerous appearances as an analyst on Middle Eastern affairs on the BBC and Sky. Her father, Ramzi, is a former university professor and ex-vice president of the American University of Beirut.
The venue: according to Clooney’s Aunt Starla, the couple considered Cincinatti, and even Highclere Castle (the Downton Abbey set) before plumping for Italy. Clooney’s Lake Como residence, Villa Oleandra, was initially thought likely but more recently rumour has set upon Venice, where Clooney has reportedly secured “an entire island” for the weekend’s festivities.
The dress code: all details of Amal’s dress have been kept under wraps, but the designer is said to be Oscar de la Renta, who dressed actress Katherine Heigl and former First Daughter Jenna Bush for their weddings. According to reports, an entire team from Giorgio Armani’s Milan office flew up to Lake Como recently to fit Clooney and his male attendants.
The best man: Rande Gerber (Mr Cindy Crawford) was the first name mentioned, but it’s likely to be Brad Pitt, according to Aunt Starla. As for bridesmaids, US actress Ellen Barkin threw Amal a hen party a few weeks ago.
The ceremony: Clooney was raised a strict Catholic, but a religious ceremony is unlikely. According to E! News, the happy couple will say “short but meaningful handwritten vows” in front of their loved ones.
The guests: President Obama and First Lady Michelle are said to have been invited, although the White House won’t comment. Newlywed Brangelina should be there, while Brad’s ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, is also rumoured to be on the list (good luck with that table plan). Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts, Bono and Matt Damon are invited, too, while Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is also said to be going (and featuring the wedding in her magazine).
The food: Clooney told Wine Enthusiast magazine that his favourite food and drink pairings are Italian-inspired – pinot grigio with fish, cooked fillet-style, and Tuscan reds for pastas with rich, heavy sauces. Could this be a clue? As for drinks, Clooney is fond of bellinis, which he drinks at the Harry’s Bar franchise near his villa – though if he wanted to give the toast a personal twist he could use the tequila brand he launched this year, called Casamigos. For that after-dinner drink, however, will Gorgeous George be able to resist serving Nespresso? He’s been the face of the coffee brand for nearly a decade.
The first dance: Brides magazine reports that Clooney has approached Lana Del Rey’s people about the possibility of her performing at the wedding. “Amal is a massive fan of Lana’s, which has made George determined to make this happen,” a source says. Del Rey won’t come cheap, though – she charged £1.5 million for just three songs at the Kardashian nuptials.
The wedding list: unlikely to be at Peter Jones, although the Jolie-Pitts have reportedly already bought the Clooneys a £125,000 gold-plated snowmobile as their present.
The honeymoon: if the day is early September, the Clooneys have an exclusion zone around George’s Lake Como villa until the 30th, which might suggest a honeymoon there. It has form: The Help’s Viola Davis had her honeymoon there a couple of years ago (sans Clooney, we should add). Other locations mentioned include the Seychelles.

Yep. A load of previous rumours already out there all cobbled together under one banner headline.
Ah, the art of journalism......
Well, if you just take one those rumours - Anna Wintour. She's not going to be available until at least September 9/10. Far too busy watching the US Tennis Open and Roger Federer (lucky her!)
Oh, and I hear she is now editorial director and artistic director now for Conde Nast Publications - the group own Vogue, Vanity Fair, Architectural Design, W, GQ, Wired etc etc
And the OK rumour says Como? Well, that covers an awful lot of geography doesn't it? The town? The Lake? A village on the lake? The other end of the Lake?

Re: A wedding date and venue (?)
To be fair to the Telegraph, they did say they were only "piecing together some of the rumors" and just speculating - like we are - what the wedding could be like.
I love the "gold plated snowmobile" from Brad and Angie! What the hell would they do with that? He lives for the sun - don't think I've ever seen him in the snow except in a movie.
Honestly, the silly season is upon us!
