Oh give me a break! How do you think the internet works? Do you really think Europeans can only visit and comment on other European sites? Do you think there's some sort of magic that allows an Italian PR agency to read and respond to sites in English that are hosted in the UK but not on USA ones? Also, for your info, there is very little interest in Canalis in the UK. She features only as Clooney's girlfriend, and it's quite clear from the majority of comments at the DM site that most people know very little about her and are just commenting on her pics. Nothing more. It's called objectivity. A baggage-free opinion.

ohhhhhhh you making my point to me too , it's not controlled by clooney fans but it's not normal to see rating acomment more than handerd time,u think that all english woman only job to do that in EC POST ONLY and i still think that her pp team making tricks with many italian german english site becuse its more under control there and less population less media society not as hard as in US and she have communication n media remember when the tweeter incident happened her friend was presenter or in media feild i don't remember so much but he start to defence her and speak let her alone and her pp don't leave her she must have good contacts since she showed her ass on many known magslike FHM ,maxim and others

I think they are playing the two girls off each other. making one good and one bad to get press for San Remo. They just chose Eli to be bad cause they have plenty of ammunition. The other girl is softer and prettier and seems to have a better image. As for not wanting to work away from George she really has little choice in the matter she isn't getting any work from the US and George seems quite happy going around without her. But it is a nice sound byte for her!

Nonsense. More under control? Less media society in the UK?? From the land that created the tabloid? You have to be kidding me. The US is a free nation? What exactly is the UK then and the rest of Europe? You plainly are not familiar with the Daily Mail which regularly posts articles about women looking ‘less than their best’, intentionally provocative to get hits on their site and keep the advertisers happy (and the rates up.). And the comments under practically ALL of these articles – not just the Canalis one - for the most part are scoffing in derision at the DM’s utter stupidity. Go look at other similar articles and you will see exactly the same thing, similar post counts and similar post ratings. I'm sorry if that disagrees with your theory but there you go. The comments, had you actually read them you would see, are far more engaged at ridiculing the DM and its moronic stupidity than actively supporting Canalis.

The idea that anyone expressing a positive opinion about her is suspect and the result of some international PR plot is nonsensical. On that basis, are those who don't like her and don't find her attractive, and post accordingly, also part of another international anti-PR plot? And even if her pr and friends DID post at the DM, and rate positive comments, so what? Why shouldn’t they if they feel the article is unfair? They would only be agreeing with the majority opinion on there, that slating a woman for looking less than camera-ready when she’s out exercising/walking her dogs is the height of stupidity.

I certainly hope that we don't get to see Eli singing and dancing! We saw her old velina dances (or spastic movements) in old videos and I just can't imagine that she's got a good singing voice after hearing her speaking voice. EEEKKKK!

What is it about all the cleaning? I get it is supposed to be funny but her wearing glasses to look smarter and all this cleaning just looks odd for a music show advert.

Maybe that is why she is skipping rehersals? SHe needs all the help she can get but I do think they will work around her shortcomings. Belen is getting better publicity then Eli is and I think we will see some more friendly pics of Eli. All this negative press won't do much for her career.

I can't get these videos to play, but from what I understand is that these trailers are jokes about the hosts putting the show together. If you don't speak Italian and don't know the references then I don't think you're going to find it funny.

It certainly does! And fair play to Betty for being the first of his girlfriends to really make something of it. The rest just slink back into obscurity [apart from Lisa Snowdon who also managed to make a career out of it], but Betty's working it like a dog with two dicks. As my grandmother used to say, ahem.

Press is press and it's all good for her career. There's a whole bunch of US celebrities who are utterly talentless and famous for being famous starting with the entire Kardashian clan, moving on to Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie, all those real housewives, all those Jersey-shore/licious people, batchelors and batchelorettes and so on and so on and so on.

None of them have done anything to deserve the media attention they get so why shouldn't Betty also do the same? Is Snooki in any way more worthy than Betty?

According to one of the Italian posters, Belen has a reputation as a diva and not much more popular than Betty.

That's obviously just one poster's opinion of course, but it worries me the way we think on this board. Because Belen is prettier she must also be nicer? Because she has a softer smile she must be nicer?

Yes it is, read the website and you'll see that stories can get hundreds of comments and comments can get several hundred votes (take a look at this story about Victoria Beckham and see for yourself.

Actually I don't like Betty one bit. The difference is that I don't hate her. A lot posters here don't seem to get that it's not a choice between loving her or hating her. It's also possible to just not like her.

So I don't go looking for faults in her behaviour and I don't go round trying to find things to criticise. Likewise I don't like Paris or Kim K and the rest of them either. I think they're parasites on society, but again I don't hate them and I don't spent hours on websites discussing about how ugly they are and how awful the latest thing that they've done is.

Oh, but Katiedot how could we ever know otherwise? Personally, what I'm trying to say that Betty needs to work harder on her presentation. Every photo shoot and pap setup is an opportunity to create a public persona (sweet, or fierce, or sexy, tough, etc.). Unless she is intentionally trying to come off as a smug girldog, she's doing something WRONG. If she softened it up, she would seem nicer.

In this case, appearance IS really all that matters. How she acts in "real life" doesn't concern me, since I will never meet her. (And I haven't heard any stories about bad behavior.)

Katie, I don't understand the Italian either, but to me it's just more bad acting. Maybe it's supposed to be silly, but I just find it annoying.

I'm going to throw this out for consideration: we all know someone who's arrogant, prickly, awkward or just plain rude, right? But when we got to know them better we discover that they're actually just shy and uncomfortable in social situations and unwittingly put up a barrier that puts people off. I wonder if Betty isn't a lot like that. In pics where she's genuinely relaxed and with friends she smiles, but put her in front of a camera (say on a red carpet or with paps) she freezes over. When George puts his arm around her and holds her closely on the carpet, her photos tend to look better than when she's been 'abandonned' by him.

My point being that not everyone is so good at putting themselves across well. Now of course you could say that people like that just shouldn't try to be famous and you'll get no argument from me on that one.

I'm definitely not pro-Belen, but I agree with PigLove. Betty needs to work on her presentation. We all form our opinions on the way people look, or present themselves. That's our society, thanks to the tabloids. Doesn't mean it's right, just the way it is. And you're absolutely right Katie. There's just some who shouldn't be in the spotlight.

Katie, I think you agree with me. Since it's fairly clear that Betty is hellbent on being famous, she needs to learn to control her public persona. GTC is a master at that, so she has a wonderful opportunity to learn.

So true. Can you imagine a reality show with Bette and snooki? That would be funny. Bette is getting all she can while she can, it is when the split happens that will be the telling time for her and any work. Lisa has worked well after george so it will be interesting to see if Eli's jobs dry up or she manages to get a career out of it. Not sure what career Eli will get but I'm doubting it's going to be an acting one at least not in the States.
