Re: June 2014 chit chat
So we are starting this tomorrow, in my case 11 hours from now when I get up, it will be a brand new day - already organised a walking partner to walk around aimlessly with me for 2 days a week, so that's a start.

So, do you think a "Diet" or "Losing Weight" thread should be started rather than continuing on in the ChitChat thread? Those who are not participating in the program can then just follow the regular ChitChat and then the discussion for the weight loss can have its own thread.

Ohhhhhhhh, please be sure to read the labels carefully if you are going to consume pre-made shakes, foods etc, esp with your new health /diet issues! Hidden gluten-fillers may be lurking. Good luck Nicky

Re: June 2014 chit chat
Good point. When I bought the shake I asked if they know if there is gluten in it and they recommended one which hasn't. Anyway, I just tried it out and tasted so disgusting I nearly through up. Maybe I have to mix it with frozen fruits like strawberries to change the taste. Now in the summertime it could be a nice ice-shake hehe.
(by the way Pigpen, can you check your PM-Mailbox? I sent you a PM a while a go with regards to "how to quote post from different threads". FYI )

Re: June 2014 chit chat
Thanks Alisonfan for the tip. I will check out the website. And I will try out "buckwheat pasta" I tried corn pasta once but I didn't like it was so soft. Not nice.....I will get back to you if I have more questions.....I'm slowly getting started.....
Yes you can copy post from another thread. For example. Somebody post a comment you like to get into more in details but you can't do it in the original thread as it would be off topic you could then copy that post and copy it to a new thread or post in in the chit chat thread and discuss it further.....Or if you feel like the post matches also perfectly to another thread you can copy it there too if it's valid and on topic. But of course you always need to mention that you copy a post from another thread otherwise it can be confusing.
I posted my explanation in this thread below. Have a look. Maybe this will help. Otherwise just post your question in the thread below

By the way do you guys realize they use now the new Technic to measure goals for this World Cup? Interesting after they talked about it for so long....Now we need to have a Technic when the referee should get a penalty. The first one he gave to Spain which leaded to 1:0 was wrong...but hey...They had to pay big time for it hahaha

Re: June 2014 chit chat
Yes the Goal Line Technology is a good thing
for disputes when the eye can't tell if the ball went over the line or not.
Bad memories for England when a winning goal was disallowed some years back.
But now the directors of TV cameras are showing
every goal scored on the new technology !!
Typically causing great amusement to our expert
football commentators !!
Thanks to Nicky, and anyone else, who is supporting
England in the World Cup this time round !

Oh boy same here. I was watching with friends and we were laughing all the time. Each goal was shown with the new technology as we didn't know it was a real GOAL haha

LOL sorry It's me but the German team has still an Italian trauma from the World Cup final 2006. hehe
So if Germany can't win this World Cup I wish it to everyone else except to the Spain and Italian team
But it is only a football issue apart from that I love Italy (and Spain)

I know Joanna and I would probably hate being a celebrity and having my pic taken all the time. But wouldn't it be nice to live the lifestyle of the rich and the famous for just a little while. Especially now when it's summer and love is in the air...
(Since I'm already off topic. I'm sorry You Brits lost against the Italians last night)
Thanks about the football...no offence IM ?
No, I wouldn't really like to live the "celebrity" lifestyle,
especially at my time of life....but can well understand the appeal ! Lol
On a serious note, the feeling I have deep down is that we are all millionaires, compared to many people in this world.

Re: June 2014 chit chat
Well hubby missed out on his daughters soccer game but fair enough he watched Italy beat England. Just to be shit stirrer when Italy scored I ran topless through the lounge-room to the amusement of my family - hubby was laughing his ass off. I also wore an English t-shirt just to annoy him, but then he sent the photo to my brother (and as we are all Scottish born) I received a not very complimentary text msg from him!! So until Scotland makes the World Cup Im only cheering on the Socceroos from now on - surrounded by too many Italian fans and angry Scottish fans at the moment.

Re: June 2014 chit chat
Just stopping by quickly.Gosh it is a gloomy and windy Monday morning and I'm off to work. Reminds me of that old song I don't like Mondays (Boomtown Rats?)
I can't believe that people lose weight when they are under stress. The more stressed I am the more weight I put on.Seems like 1 kg a month right now.It sucks and I have to do something about it.
I think you are right Joanna; we are all millionaires compared to a lot of other people in this word. I know I should be grateful for the little things but I am not feeling it this morning.

No I understand Silje.....you can't feel it all the time !
I don't feel it all the time , but it's still a fact and that's all that matters.
I am a multi-millionaire today because my two step grand daughters showed their love for me yesterday,
in their unique style.
I feel so blessed & grateful.

From MSN UK
Good News...
Schu is no longer in a coma and has gone into
rehabilitation.

Schumacher out of coma
Michael Schumacher is no longer in a coma
Michael Schumacher is no longer in a coma and has left the hospital in Grenoble where he had been receiving treatment after being involved in a skiing accident last year.
The seven-times Formula One world champion had sustained severe head injuries in the incident in the French Alps in December, and was subsequently put into an artificially- induced coma a few days later.
But his management company said in a statement on Monday: "Michael has left the CHU Grenoble to continue his long phase of rehabilitation. He is not in a coma anymore."
It was later confirmed that Schumacher had been transferred to the University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV) in Switzerland.
Darcy Christen, a spokesman for the hospital, said: "I can confirm that he has been admitted on Monday morning."
He said the hospital would not be disclosing any details about the star's condition or which part of the hospital he is being treated in.
"I can't say anything about his medical status. We have decided to ensure for him and his family privacy and medical confidentiality."
Schumacher was injured after falling while skiing off piste in the French Alpine resort of Meribel.
The German initially required surgery to remove a haematoma from his brain, but despite its success the 45-year-old was forced to remain in a coma under sedation.
Official reports after the initial frenzy surrounding Schumacher's status have been few and far between, prompting a number of scare stories regarding his future.
The last update on Schumacher's condition had been in early April, when a statement was released saying Schumacher was showing "moments of consciousness".
The time in between without any further announcement, however, had again raised questions as to whether Schumacher would ever make a complete recovery.
Those doubts remain, with no other information provided with regards to his health.
Schumacher's family, however, have again offered their sincere gratitude to all those who have played a part in the process over the past five and a half months.
The statement from his management team continued: "His family would like to explicitly thank all his treating doctors, nurses and therapists in Grenoble, as well as the first aiders at the place of the accident, who did an excellent job in those first months.
"The family also wishes to thank all the people who have sent Michael all the many good wishes. We are sure it helped him.
"For the future we ask for understanding his further rehabilitation will take place away from the public eye."
Monday's announcement was welcomed by Mercedes, with whom Schumacher raced for three years from 2010 when he made a largely unsuccessful return to racing.
"Encouraging news on Michael's condition this morning. We couldn't ask for a better start to the week. #KeepFightingMichael," the Brackley-based marque said on Twitter.
Lewis Hamilton was delighted with the update on Schumacher as he said: "It's incredible news. Amazing.
"Everywhere I go people ask about him - the States, Canada. I could be at a petrol station in the States and people would ask about him.
"I've always kept him in my thoughts and prayers, and it's really positive to hear there is some progress.
"I've been trying to keep an ear out for what is going on, but not really hearing much.
"So to hear he is now really in that wake-up phase is really, really encouraging.
"It's also exciting, that first step on that new ladder for him."
Germany footballer Lukas Podolski dedicated his side's 4-0 World Cup win over Portugal to Schumacher.
"In the end [the victory] was for him," the Arsenal man told the Guardian.
"He's a good friend a good guy and he's also crazy about football. Maybe he watched the game or he knew about the result."

I only got to see the one goal near the end as it started at 3 pm my time and I was still at work. But happened to go down to our cafeteria where they have tv monitors, usually just playing work related propaganda, but today they actually had them on the game.
Saw the guy get the goal and then drops to the ground looking like he was kissing the grass! Great reaction.
So I guess we don't suck as bad as in the past! HA!

Yes congrats USA.....it was a BELTER !
Another phrase used here in UK is....A game of two halves....used when a team plays 100% better or worse in the first or second half of the game.....45 minutes each half,
plus "injury" time added on by referee.
Enjoy the World Cup !

They're the crunchy cakes made by pouring hot chocolate over any

They're called different names in different countries I think.

Remove crust on thin white fresh bread lightly spread with butter/margarine sprinkle hundreds and thousands, cut into small triangles pile them on a plate and watch them disappear. Kids love them young and old.LizzyNY wrote:Also, what is Fairy Bread?

Sorry! Yes, we can start up new thread here in the party in the kitchen section. Give me a mo' and I'll copy over all of our previous posts. Not sure what to call the damn thread though. Any ideas?sparkie wrote:Feeling so very alone here at the moment, watching Soccer wont get the weight off or have we been 'Red Carded' in regards to our ultimate goal?

Congrats lorna...We play against Ghana on Saturday and after that on the 26th against the USA...Watch out.. We just beat Portugal with 4:0 AMAZING... So in our chart we at the moment number one and USA number 2 and people talk that the USA is a "secret favorite" so let's see how that goes
Did anyone see the game yesterday? I can't believe Spain (the world champions) are out already. One competitor less to worry about hehehe
@Joanna...I think England is playing today and you must win right or you are out too?????? Lets hope your team will make it
