Hi Lizzy Im safe, just some really bad weather at the moment




As I haven't left my suburb in the last 2 days, Im not amongst all the chaotic traffic, flooding roads etc, just need to watch out for damage due to winds, do have a ridiculous amount of trees in the street where I live. 

Thousands are without power, so far ours has remained on and hopefully that will continue. 



I love our weather forecaster on TV, tells us its 12 degrees but feels like 6, that's honesty for you.

Glad to hear you are all safe and no damage everything is okay here, although for 7 hours I had to carry around in a baby swag my 6 month old puppy she was terrified.

Funny thing happened, with the wind chill factor I did see a Brass Monkey running down the road  

 Theminis & Sparkie - Glad you two are both ok. and no damage. Seems like the scientists are right about global warming. The weather here is out of control, too. We just get a lot of rain and cooler temperatures than normal, but the middle of the country and the south are getting clobbered by storms and tornados and drought. Something isn't right!

Sparkie, how's your puppy doing? When I was a kid, we had a dog who disappeared for hours every time there was a storm. We would usually find her shaking under a bed or in a closet. The poor thing was terrified.

Be well and safe. Hope the weather clears up for you soon.   

Lizzy she is fine thanks they are just like babies, they forget very soon. Yes this weather is crazy. Although I believe we should nurture and cherish this beautiful earth of ours I sometimes wonder if it is part of the earth's cycle of life. I sometimes think that this maybe part of her growth and we are just spectators to all her majesty.

Sparkie - I agree with the idea that this crazy weather is part of the earth's natural evolution, but I think that what we do is escalating  the changes and making them more severe than they would naturally be. IMO we need to make some big changes to the way we live, and we need to do it fast.

PS - Glad your puppy is ok

Dogs and Storms especially puppies don't usually mix very well - nice of you to carry her/him around for comfort

I've just got back from a few days in West Wales,
where the weather was warm & sunny,with blue skies and a cooling North Westerly breeze.
Just right really, except no big waves....so no surfers
to watch!

they don't as yet stock it in Australia, tried importing but shipping was ridiculous.  Lucky Scottish whiskey is my thing and I have a very well stocked bar!!!

Her name is Tilly she is a Mini Foxy 3.4 kilos and she is keeping me sane. I am sorry but I am not computer savvy enough to down load pictures for you, you just have to take my word that she is sooo cute smart as anything I really think she has been here before.

Ah my childhood dog was a Fox Terrier.....
white with the black saddle and black ears. Terriers are smart dogs.
My Westie Millie, is very smart and amazes us how she can work
things out quickly.

Im taking my 3 children to see this as a surprise on the school holidays - which begin this Saturday - my youngest who is dinosaur mad will love love love it.

Joanna yes they are very smart dogs we use to own Mini Schnauzers, after we lost the last one my mother said lets get another breed so we went with a Mini Foxy male name Jack yes he is still with use but getting very old. What an education he was and the things he did omg

1. Dug a hole in the middle of my new mattress
2. Planting vegetables in garden he followed along behind and pulled everyone
    one back out
3. Digging a trench for new PVC piping followed along behind and filled it back in
4. Got into snail bait mad dash to Murdoch University 2.30 am Monday Morning
    $3,500,00 later he survived that god.
5. Killed a Brown snake (our deadliest) 2 ft from me

Countless other damage coupled with major hospital stays =

This sounds great. The son of my friend is 3,5 years old and loves dinosaurs too. And when I sit on the sofa he is sitting right next to me to show me his dino book and tells me all the names. He really knows all the names with 3,5 years old. I can't even pronounce those words not even think to remember which dinosaurs has what name...

But I love the movie from Steven Spielberg "A land before time" (hope it is the right translation)....

Look funny video. Everyone loves soccer..hehe. When Portugal was playing against USA  few days ago and Portugal shot the the last goal at the end even the dog was happy HAHA ...Portugal is now out. 

And Ghana too....

It was funny to watch the USA fans at the end of the game today when the result came on the screen that Ghana lost. USA had nothing to worry anymore for the next round....

Weather Situation
A strong cold front is crossing the Bight, with an associated low pressure system crossing waters south of the Bight to be just west of Tasmania by Saturday morning. Strong to gusty northerly winds will reach gale force at times tonight and Saturday ahead of the cold front, then colder and squally west to southwest winds will extend eastwards across the State in the wake of the front as it crosses Victoria on Saturday.
Damaging winds of around 60 km/h with peak gusts of about 100 km/h are forecast for parts of the North Central, North East, South West, Central, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts on Friday night and Saturday, particularly over elevated areas. Alpine Areas are likely to experience winds of 60 to 80 km/h with peak gusts around 120 km/h.
A wind gust of 104 km/h was recorded at Mt Hotham this morning.
A wind gust of 100 km/h was recorded at Kilmore this afternoon.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:

• Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
  
• Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
  
• Keep clear of fallen power lines.

Theminis & Sparkie - It sounds like you're in for some awful weather. Are your winters always like this? Theminis, are you sure a soccer field is the best place to be? Please be careful and stay safe.

I don't remember it being quite this windy before and it sure feels colder than it used to, could also be Im getting older!!

I worry mainly about trees falling down, cant do much about it as we are not allowed to cut them, very glad I don't live by the ocean or river at the moment.

As much everyone likes to hear what you like to eat.....maybe your oreos puts everyone in temptation in the diet thread.....Can you not hear our suffering to stay away from oreos.....   Diet and oreos don't match    Funny that you Americans love oreos so much. Is not so big over hear......What can I say...our German chocolate is so much better   Which I haven't eaten for a while  

German, Swiss American I don't care... bring on the chocolate.  I'll walk an extra 3 miles tonight!!

If it can be moved, then I think that it should be totally REmoved. I had an extremely low blood sugar and I HAD to eat the oreos to raise my blood sugar.
