No, it's saying that her price for all the different kind of work that she does has hugely increased since association with George.

As to whether these high prices will last, I'm betting on 'no', but it will take time for her rates to drop. She's pretty well known now which is why celebs get paid money.

As the rates are quoted in euros, I'm assuming this is for work in Italy, not the US.

I went on her IMDB which is small to say the least most are very minor parts and nothing that seemed to set her up for anything else. 2008 seemed to be good was that the year she was dating the soccer player? Before that she is lucky to have done more then one or two things and those she did were really small. She seems more C list and more famous for those naked calenders. Her work has always gone hand in hand to who she has dated at the time. I have always said she will end up back in Italy no one else is prepared to deal with her lack of any real talent. Not too sure how much presenting she will get her San Remo and that kitchen show she did got her really bad reviews. The people who produced San Remo has even said they won't work with her so she is getting more and more limited in what she can do. Some more modeling gigs with the not to high profile fashion houses now Cavalli seems to no longer need her. I think because of her attitude and her I love the US etc stuff she is going to find it harder to work even in Italy without George. I think she will marry a rich guy with some sort of fame! Dont forget she has the big project in the US and her shop so she is still thinking she can get some sort of international fame! So I guess she is crazy!

She is apparently buying a house in LA, signing with a LA based agency and talking to the new agents about a tv gig. If she is still in talks for the tv gig, it must not yet been signed on the dotted line so there is no guarantee that it will happen...

It seemed like the end of a dream, but Elisabetta Canalis has already found a smile after the end of his troubled love affair with George Clooney . Who photographed the former tissue notice to Positano with some friends, including the Neapolitan entrepreneur Angelo Life , that seems to have established with Canalis a very special feeling.

Actually that article is a bit behind the times. Betty is already on the books for an agency called LA Models. She is pictured in the Women division on their website. Although she is named as Elisabetta Canali. Her US agency can't get her name right??

Getting her name wrong doesn't speak for her agency.

I don't think it is an A list agency and she has been signed with them for awhile and so far she hasn't gotten much work besides the PETA thing. She is way too old to be a model and has no actual acting talent. I think the project in question is for some sort of reality show because what else can she do? She is buying a house in LA maybe the series can follow her doing that and opening her store. I wonder if she will move near George? Can you buy a house when you aren't a resident of the country?

I do not think the video for PETA and is a volunteer job but I do not think has been paid to do it. I think you're in Los Angeles already had a house to rent, however it is possible and easy to buy homes in the United States, especially now.

To be a "regal resident" you must have gone through the immigration process and have been sponsored by a US citizen related to you like a husband or children. A working visa is only for the duration of a project and multiple visa just allows you to come and go and each time for a stay of 3 to 6 months renewable once but then you have to get out and get in again.

if she has a working visa (H1B or another special category that I am not aware of it), it means a company is sponsoring her. In my understanding, s he can buy a house. Unless, there are different rules for Italian citizens. Shakira bought a house in Miami, so did Rick Martin... But if they had a US citizen as a co-signer/witness, of course, I don't know. My former boss is from Australia and he came on a working visa to teach here and he bought a house. I think you are talking about J-1 visa, which allows you to work-study, but for a limited amount of time.

Lela, socimar, maria4, I'am not saying/typing that betta or anyone for that matter cannot buy a house anywhere in the USA and you are all right, times are tough in the USA housing/job market. That it will be difficult for her to get work in LA just like it is for thousands of women who are citizens of USA, she will probably have a tough time of it.

For an Italian visa to stay in the United States (ESTA) and lasts one year you do it online, because I know I do every year and allows you to stay three months then take a plane Los Angeles \ Tjiuana (Mexico), a 'hour flight, take a bath, take un'pò sun, and leave in the evening and found not to be output from the U.S. and lasts another three months. How many problems do you?

Eli will probably show it off. But it is very expensive to live in LA and if her Visa requires her working etc then she may not last. The tourist one where she leaves every few months like she has been doing makes the most sense. Besides any excuse for her to go to Mexico! Re-reading all the above comments, I couldn't really understand what or why everyone was upset was it because you don't think Eli can buy a house or you think others don't want her to buy a home? I lived in Mexico for 3 years without student or working visa(my husband is Mexican)this was 25 years ago, I had to renew my visa every 3 months and leave the country and re-enter once every 6 months. I would think betta already has all the in's and out's worked out by now, she's had 2 years to think it through and work things out.

Adding on, EC has been to America plenty of times before George. And, I think when she was younger with her Father (if I remember reading an article correctly).

yes, Ely has been in the US a couple of times with her father while he was attending symposiums related to her father's work as a radiologist. At that time she and her father probably traveled on a tourist visa.

So far they don't seem to have done much. She signed with them before her breakup with George and all she has done is PETA. Which was a naked modeling job...other then that she hasn't had any work in LA except Leverage which she only got because of George. I think she is really delusional if she thinks people are going to hire her now! That is why I think it is a reality show she and Val are pitching wouldn't me if it includes finding a house etc.

I did think her tv gig could be a presenting job considering she made a big fuss in an interview to state she wasn't an actress, model or dancer - she was a presenter. But I doubt any contract has been signed otherwise she would be talking about it. No whether if the job is still on offer now that she is the ex-girlfriend of? Leverage was diue to who she was dating. Who she use to date - especially if she legally can't discuss him - will that draw in viewers?

If she is talking about doing a reality show with the store and her "life" in LA , I'm not sure that will do well or even get off the ground. How long will people watch her smout, go shopping then go to the beach? The Karasdian women made money out of it, I'm sure Betty and Val look at that and think "we could do that better than them". But if a reality show, would it be in English? As her language skills aren't great and watching her try to speak in English when she isn't confident with it could work against the show as most people don’t like hearing their language get destroyed by someone with not a great grasp on the language and a heavy accent in a reality show setting? Or her and Val in Italian and then it would be sold to Mediaset (cause you know she has connections there) and air in Italy only? The Italian plan doesn’t really plan into her "I'm going to be a big star in LA" plan. And that wouldn’t bring in the huge money that she would be hoping for in LA - especially after two years of seeing the type of money and perks that George got. You know she is going to think she deserves that type and level of pay check.

Maybe the agency isn’t going to book her work (if it comes her way) until she is living there full time and not off on another holiday on a beach somewhere...

I do think she will buy the big house and show it off. Let's not forget - she does have a bit of cash of her own to spend so she isn't going to be buying in Skid Row. Will she spend a lot of her savings on the house to "buy" entrance to LA and appear to be super successful (like that arranged pap encounter when doing the car ad in LA) - most likely. That seems to be her style - the desperate need of external validation. Wonder if Prada Beverley Hills will give her a discount like the Milan one does?

If the tweet was right and she is headed back to Milan then I assume she will call them. Sarah, from what I can remember kept in public eye for about a year after her split. I can't remember who asked about the modeling agency Sarah modelled for, but I think it was Nobu model management. I looked it up and showed her weight, height,measurements and about 10 pics. That was a couple of months ago, she is no longer on their roster.

I admire anyone who chases their dreams, but you get to a certain time of life when IMO practically needs to be considered. How old is too old to model, or start an acting career? Why not stay in Italy were acting jobs would be easier to get due to the language. There is that actress on Modern Family from Columbia that is successfully working but that is an exception. I think that is why she is staying in LA. Everyone knows she can't act and so far no one has asked her to do any modeling there either. I really think the project is reality based no one else would have her. I predict she will hook up with another actor probably who likes attention as much as her! SL failed very fast she didn't get any real modeling jobs after George and I remember a blind item about a woman pretty much putting herself up for sale as the girlfriend off.
