Crudelmente puntuale è stata la fine dell’amore con George Clooney, lo stesso è avvenuto con il rapporto con DonnaOro, l’azienda orafa per cui faceva da testimonial. C’eravamo tanto amati, ma ora il «bye bye Eli» immortalato da una paginata di pubblicità sul Corriere della sera dell’8 luglio è lì a dire che ognuno va per la sua strada. E un’altra storia finisce, con millimetrico tempismo.
IL SALUTO PUBBLICO DI DONNAORO. Il brand di gioielli, a cui per due anni Elisabetta ha prestato il volto come testimonial della comunicazione aziendale, termina il suo legame lavorativo con lei e la saluta e ringrazia pubblicamente con un amorevole messaggio uscito, oltre che sul Corriere, anche su altri quotidiani italiani.
Concomitanza casuale? Forse. Ma la sincronia perfetta fa venire una gran voglia di pensare male. Di immaginare, cioè, un ben servito direttamente consequenziale alla rottura con Clooney o, addirittura, a un contratto appositamente pensato a tavolino dalla ditta di gioelli della stessa durata di quella pseudostoria d’amore altrettanto pianificata strategicamente.

Insistite e insistenti voci, infatti, non si stancano di suggerire l’altra versione. Ovvero quella per cui la più patinata storia di cronaca rosa dell’anno non sarebbe una appassionata liaison sentimentale, bensì una indovinata e ben congegnata trovata pubblicitaria, utile a entrambi i protagonisti.
Tra uno scatto dei due bellissimi a lume di candela in un ristorante esclusivo, uno sfavillante red carpet mano nella mano da divi innamorati e qualche bacio (pochissimi, per la verità, quelli carpiti dai fotografi) a favore di obiettivo, si insinua, testardo, il sospetto della montatura.
UNO STRATAGEMMA DI MARKETING. E l’illazione di chi, dietro all’apparenza di una storia con tutti gli ingredienti per mandare in visibilio il gossip e per guadagnare le più ghiotte copertine patinate, vede dell’altro. Uno stratagemma di marketing, per l’appunto. Che a lei sarebbe valso - proprio quando la popolarità legata soprattutto al suo passato da velina cominciava ad appannarsi un po’ - un deciso ritorno sotto i riflettori della cronaca.
In effetti, così è stato: quando è arrivato l’amore con Clooney, Eli è finita di nuovo in prima pagina, è stata ospite contesa dalle trasmissioni tivù (con cachet lievitati), è arrivata addirittura a Sanremo. Ed è diventata testimonial ambita. Esattamente come per la casa di gioielli di cui sopra.
I SOSPETTI SU CLOONEY. Ma - sorge spontanea la domanda – lui, il divo interplanetario che forse agogna la privacy più della pubblicità, da questa storia che cosa ci avrebbe guadagnato? Anche qui le insinuazioni si sprecano al punto che il giornalista gossipparo per eccellenza, Alfonso Signorini, non ha esitazioni ad affermare che la foto per la quale oggi sarebbe disposto a pagare di più è proprio quella del divo americano in atteggiamenti teneri con un altro uomo.
Per confermare, una volta per tutte, le convinzioni dell’ampio fronte di quanti - neppure davanti all’ex matrimonio di lui con l’attrice Talia Balsam o alle ultime voci (e foto) che vorrebbero Clooney già intento a farsi consolare da Sandra Bullock -, insistono a giurare sull’omosessualità del bel George e sul fatto che l’attore farebbe di tutto per smentire voci e sospetti in materia. Persino assoldare la nostra Canalis. Che ora però, mollata da lui, viene mollata da tutti.

Ma siamo sempre sul terreno delle illazioni, mancano del tutto le prove e dai riservati protagonisti non si riesce a scucire alcunché. Anche provando a interpellare direttamente la maison di gioielli sulla sospetta tempistica del contratto tra DonnaOro e la ex velina, iniziato e finito precisamente a tempo con la love story hollywoodiana, la risposta è perentoria e negativa: i due avvenimenti non hanno correlazione alcuna, la loro sincronia è solo una coincidenza casuale.
«Le date non mentono», ha precisato l’ufficio stampa del brand «ad azzeccarci nella cronologia saremmo dovuti essere dei veggenti. La collaborazione tra DonnaOro ed Elisabetta Canalis, infatti, è nata nel marzo 2009, cioè qualche mese prima che la storia tra la showgirl e Clooney iniziasse e, da contratto, si è conclusa a maggio 2011, ovvero quando i due ancora stavano insieme. UN RINGRAZIAMENTO INNOVATIVO. E hanno precisato, piuttosto, che il loro arrivederci a Eli sui giornali è un modo innovativo e gentile per salutare e ringraziare il volto che per due anni ha lavorato con loro. Celebrandone i molti pregi, come i «suoi valori» e la «sua autenticità».
Ma c’è di più. Nell’affettuoso messaggio si legge anche un’ulteriore omaggio a Eli: «Alla sua capacità di brillare di luce propria. Perché sappiamo», scrivono da DonnaOro, «che la luce che abbiamo visto in lei, prima che si accendessero i riflettori del jet set internazionale, non smetterà mai di farla risplendere, anche nel suo futuro». Actually that would be a 26 month contract, since March comes two months before May, which is still an odd length of time for any legal agreement but they must have had some reason to overlap the contract time beyond the standard two years.

Gerard Butler is single although he doesn't seem to stay with anyone too long but I'm sure Bette will give it a go. I think with the attention she gets in her bikini someone else may like her to be the girlfriend off......

The first interview is really the only one where she could make any real cash anything else after that isn't worthwhile because she would have already talked. Not that I think she can say anything and most people will be well aware of the likely hood she has a NDA and not really be able to say anything much. So it won't be worth that much and as time goes on it will be cheaper and cheaper. According to her and Val she has a big project coming up in the US and the shop. What would she do in Italy? She has really shown them how untalented she is and they seem over her. Eli wants the bright lights of LA but I don't think it will last! We are talking about 2 different men, both involved with Eli at the same time during the fashion show at the BAGNI ELENA in Posillipo, Naples, and a few days after that.

The so called “entertainment agent” that you are talking about is Roberto Ruffin who was with her at the fashion show in Posillipo (Naples), later was seen having dinner with her and also papped together in Padova because he is from there and his agency, the S.M.I. (Italian Star Management) provides “exposures” to the celebrities he represents and he represents her. Probably they were talking business by candlelight.

The guy with her on a yacht vacation on the Amalfi coast was an ex-boyfriend, Angelo Vita, a Neapolitan entrepreneur (imprenditore edile) with whom she had a relationship in 2007, and lately spent a few days of vacation with him on his yacht after the fashion show. He was her boyfriend from 2007 when she was in Naples to shoot the movie “La seconda volta non si scorda mai (???)” but they broke up and eventually Clooney entered in the picture. Did they reconnect?? Looks that way but nobody knows for sure.

On what do you base that statement? Before George she was a C or B list celebrity in Italy with the kind of work options you'd expect from someone in that position, ie: a mix of anything that will get her in the public eye. She was making fairly decent money, seemed to be in the media and onTV regularly enough.

Her work options are (and always were) limited to Italy and any other neighbouring countries that may take an interest in her, but that's nothing to be sneezed at.

Dating George has succeeded in making her that much more famous and her face is now known to heaps more people than ever before. In Italy she'll always have work thanks to George.

I predict she'll do just fine in her home country with plenty of modelling jobs, celeb spokesperson jobs, TV hosting and interviews. Internationally, no, but then she'd have to be crazy to ever have thought it would.
