Venice ... Danesfield House for Amal and George
More is known about the marriage of George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin. The civil ceremony, apparently on September 12, will be held in the municipality of Chelsea, London, where the couple made the banns of marriage.
Episode two: the big celebration is planned, during a long weekend of September 26 to 28, in Venice, where an entire island of Venice would have been reserved for the occasion. According to a source close to the family, just a guest sixty (handpicked) are invited to the party. The paternal aunt of Amal, the bubbly May Salman and his children, and Ramzi Makram will be ringside.
As for the other cousins, band mates and colleagues, they will have to wait another two months before tightening the clamp of the two lovebirds. Indeed, the invitation cards are launched: parents Amal Ramzi and Bariaa Alamuddine offer in honor of the couple Clooney dinner Oct. 25 at Danesfield House Hotel in Marlow-on-the-Thames, Buckinghamshire. Located an hour's drive from central London, this magnificent Tudor domain, located in the heart of a garden of several acres, received the award for "Most Excellent Hotel Meeting Venue UK 2010" and the "Condé Nast Johansens Award for Excellence ". In addition, its Michelin star (Britain and Ireland) restaurant is the guarantee of a successful meal!

Re: London post-wedding party for George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin - 25 October 2014
So they're saying that there will be three events? The actual, legal marriage in London on 12 Sept followed by the wedding ceremony (cake, dress, bridesmaids, party etc etc etc) in Venice on 26 September and then a party outside of London in October?
Plus, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they had a party of some sort back in LA so all of George's many not-quite-close-enough-to-be-invited friends and work partners in the area can have a get together.
Hope they don't run out of tequila!!

Of course it could just be the hotel doing a little publicity? Although it seems an unlikely outlet - a Lebanese news article - for the hotel to use so this seems to have some credibility.

Mmmm, same Lebanese news outlet that broke the story they were on a yacht in Dubai. That was true. Glad it was broken by Mid East news source not Daily Maul just for a change.

Re: London post-wedding party for George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin - 25 October 2014
This makes no sense they said in the banns Italy would be the place of the wedding. It they are getting married legally in London wouldn't they have to state that? Isn't George due to start filming on the 29th thats a bit close. I think this is a red herring Amal stated she hoped the press would not find out the date. I doubt anyone but she and George plus the planner know the true date and what is happening.

Re: London post-wedding party for George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin - 25 October 2014
Ah ok. The civil ceremony doesn't count for most couples - it's just the legal signing of paperwork before a judge (or other official) and takes about 25-minutes. Most couples I know who've had to do this don't consider this their actual wedding even though it's the day the law recognises them as being legally married.
The wedding itself is the one in Venice/Como or wherever they have it.
Then there's the dinner in the UK.
The way I see it is as just the one event: the wedding (in Venice, Como or wherever). The rest isn't technically part of the wedding, it's just dinners with people who couldn't come to the wedding. I think it's something unavoidable with a small wedding (in other words the whole world isn't invited) between two people from different countries (lots of friends and rellies in different places) when one of them is a film star (lots of friends and business partners who'll want to congratulate him).

DISCOVER THE INVITATION TO MARRIAGE AND GEORGE CLOONEY AMAL
Paris Match has obtained the invitation for the wedding celebrations of the star. After a ceremony in Venice, it was in England that the parents of the bride will receive at a dinner.
On a cream colored card stock, a layout sober announcement: "Ramzi and Baria Alamuddin invite you to celebrate the marriage of Amal Alamuddin and George Clooney." Here is the invitation we publish below, as the Lebanese daily "L'Orient-Le Jour."
One month after the Italian celebrations in small groups on the weekend of September 25 at the Hotel Cipriani in Venice according to some, a meal will gather in England two hundred invited guests including United States and Lebanon. One hour from London, in the town of Marlow-on-Thames, on the banks of the Thames, George, Amal and her parents chose the luxurious charm of Danesfield House Hotel, a sprawling white building surrounded by a garden with French.
To say "yes" to his famous fiancé, Amal, a lawyer renowned Anglo-Lebanese, chose a dress designed by Sarah Burton of the London house Alexander McQueen, a choice before it Kate Middleton has not looked back. George Clooney is striving to create strong links with the country that he grew Amal. The American actor is also announced in the credits of an episode of the very British TV series "Downton Abbey."

I think if George and Amal have a small wedding they might have something for the people her parent's couldn't invite maybe close friends and family that didn't make the small wedding guest list.

If this is in fact the actual invitation.
A) there is a serious leak among people the families trust
B) all this bs about wanting privacy regarding the wedding, is exactly that.

To me, that looks very much the type of place for George & Amal to be wed.
Is it the same Hoptel Ciprianl that George & Rande were photographed unloading
Casamigos from a boat last year ? The water front looks very similar.
Wherever their wedding is I wish them both a joyful, loving, memorable day.

Jumblatt to attend Clooney-Alamuddin London dinner Party
Not really related to a sighting in London but I wasn't sure where else to put link.

Jumblatt to attend Clooney-Alamuddin London dinner Party
BEIRUT: A London dinner to celebrate the wedding of Amal Alamuddin and George Clooney will have some familiar faces in attendance with Walid Jumblatt among the three politicians invited to attend, ministerial sources told The Daily Star.
Environment Minister Mohammad Machnouk and MP Marwan Hamade will join the Progressive Socialis
Party leader in the UK on Oct. 23, for the dinner hosted by Alamuddin's father Ramzi.
The Lebanese-British human rights lawyer Alamuddin, 36, and Hollywood actor Clooney, 53, dominated world headlines last weekend in a lavish Venice affair that included a secret wedding ceremony at one of the famed city's luxurious hotels.
An internationally acclaimed barrister, Alamuddin surprised tabloids by pushing the American celebrity to break his long-time vow to remain a bachelor forever.

Re: London post-wedding party for George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin - 25 October 2014
This is concerning. Presumably George will attend and it will be another show in front of the cameras with Amal in a glamorous dress. George needs to stay out of the limelight for a while not court more attention just when a backlash is beginning. But maybe that's the point of the whole thing - George wants he and Amal to be an extremely public "power couple". If so George had better be prepared to be hunted down like Brad and Angelina who live in an isolated bubble nowadays surrounded by bodyguards. Hard to believe that George is trying to create this for himself.

Hideaway hotel for Clooney clan
I can disclose that Amal's parents, Ramzi and Baria Alamuddin, have sent out invitations to 90 members of their family and friends to toast the new Mr and Mrs Clooney at Danesfield House at Marlow, a turreted former stately home which is now a fivestar hotel.
The 65-bedroom hotel has been block booked for the last weekend of this month by the Alamuddins, with the highlight being a Saturday night dinner and dance in honour of the Clooneys (who will be staying in the hotel's two-storey honeymoon suite in a tower). The hotel's Michelin-starred restaurant is a favourite of Amal's parents, whose home is nine miles away in Gerrards Cross, and is an ideal venue in terms of security, located in 65 acres of gardens overlooking the Thames.
It will not be the first time that Danesfield has been locked down against unwelcome intruders. During the Second World War the house was requisitioned by the Air Ministry and was used as the headquarters for the RAF's photographic intelligence unit.
After all the razamatazz of the Clooneys' wedding in Venice, the weekend at Danesfield will be a less high-profile chance for Amal's mother Baria (who is an editor of the Arabic news site Alhayat.com) and her father Ramzi (a retired professor of the American University of Beirut) to celebrate their daughter's union to Gorgeous George.

AS GEORGE Clooney relaxes with his bride Amal in London en route to Marrakech, he has three weeks to prepare for the next important leg of his marital odyssey - being on show for a celebratory party to be held by his in-laws near their home in Buckinghamshire.

George WOO-NEY: Grey Lady set to haunt George Clooney's wedding bash
ACTOR George Clooney could get the jitters at his British wedding bash – because it is being held in a haunted Hotel.
The lavish event for Clooney, 53, his new wife Amal Alamuddin, 36, their families and friends will take place at Danesfield House in Buckinghamshire.
But the couple might want to add some ghostbusters to their guest list – because the 65-bedroom country pile is haunted by a spooky woman called the Grey Lady.
Many servicemen reported seeing the apparition – wearing robes and carrying a lantern – wandering the grounds during the Second World War when it was used as an RAF base.
And since it was turned into a hotel in 1991 workmen have also reported ghoulish goings-on.
Local spookhunters Luton Paranormal said: "When the building was being renovated one of the workmen was shocked to see footprints suddenly appear on the ceiling.
"Shortly after that the building caught fire and was extensively damaged.
"No cause could be found for the fire and it was eventually repaired.
Then the footprints appeared for a second time and again the building caught fire.”

Visitors to the area have also reported spooky sightings at night.
A source said: "At twilight the Grey Lady of Danesfield Park has often been seen taking a stroll.
"She is dressed like a nun and carries an old-fashioned lantern.”
The wedding party, which is being held a week before Halloween – has been arranged by Clooney’s new in-laws, who live nearby.
Amal’s parents Ramzi and Baria booked the hotel exclusively to toast the new Mr and Mrs Clooney after they married in Venice last month.
On the Saturday night there will be a dinner and dance followed by a more casual event the following evening.
The newlyweds will spend the night in the hotel’s two-storey honeymoon suite, set in a tower.
And the festivities will carry on once they return to the States because George has planned a further two parties in Hollywood.
The first will be for Tinseltown pals who could not make the trip to Italy and is scheduled to take place at his Los Angeles mansion early next month.
A-list guests are expected to include fellow newlyweds Brad Pitt, 50, and Angelina Jolie, 39.
There will be a final celebration in LA early in the New Year – after Clooney picks up the honorary Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes on January 11 for his contributions to acting, directing and producing.

Re: London post-wedding party for George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin - 25 October 2014
Hi,
I just thought I'd add a few bits and pieces about Danesfield House Hotel since I actually got married there myself.
The hotel is on a bit of a hill top and yes does overlook the Thames although from that view you do get a 'lovely' view of a caravan park which is down there as well :-)
I heard something about her being from the area so perhaps that's the reason why it might have been chosen.
It's a nice looking place but service has always been poor, so I do hope that they get external staff in!
It does have helipad so I guess that gives them some options in terms of guests arriving etc.
It's no way near as fancy as other hotels, Luton Hoo, Cliveden, Stoke Park but perhaps as they say they wanted something in the area.
Definitely not a 5 star place, 4.5 star looks, 3 star service.

A) there is a serious leak among people the families trust
B) all this bs about wanting privacy regarding the wedding, is exactly that.

This marriage seems to me that it is becoming a crazy antics! In this marriage I can not see George as the protagonist, but only as an extra.

Good lord, three parties in two countries over four weeks? Even Kim and Kanye managed to get it done in a weekend. Take it down a notch.
The fact that Paris Match - a French celebrity magazine which I've read in the past - it's like Hello - got a copy of the invite is significant given that the French media have given the most coverage to Amal's French arms dealer uncle who is under arrest in France. I think this is Stan's hand at work releasing a copy of the invite as a distraction in the French media to the French stories about Amal's uncle.
Plus I think the whole thing has been announced in advance to draw a crowd of media outside the hotel so George can make an appearance with Amal and all the photographers can photograph them. I think it will be a super classy event where a fortune is spent on the decor of the party. George may even have photographers inside the event from Harper's Bazaar UK or something and sell the photos again, or a Vogue exclusive. I think George wants to create another high profile media event. It's another PR stunt to create this high profile humanitarian couple and another PR stunt to raise her profile in UK/Europe where she is based.
But I don't think George should be doing this. The attention grabbing has gone too far already especially in England. People can see they are being played by in your face PR. She is being built up too far too fast with the PR stunts coming a mere weeks from the one before. The build up has been too fast. Stan should have done it slowly over a period of a year instead of too much too soon like this.
Amal will probably be in another designer gown, something really expensive or daring for attention and styled to within an inch of her life. Once you cotton on to their PR agenda it all starts becoming predictable. I'm in PR myself.
The awards season is around the corner so Amal will be at all the events George goes to (of course) and I'm sure George will wangle himself a presenting gig at the Oscars, even if he isn't nominated for anything this year, so she can be at that as well.
Personally I was a fan of Celine. She was a thousand times more beautiful than Amal - it was impossible to get a bad photo of Celine and much less vain/self obsessed and attention grabbing. Celine was more low key and natural, had a law degree too and never alienated anyone.

Celine was a law student when she met George. She worked at a school when she moved to LA to be with George. It's lovely that you prefer Celine to Amal, however George chose Amal.

George Clooney to throw wedding Party
George Clooney is reportedly throwing a party in Buckinghamshire next week to celebrate his wedding.
The 53-year-old hunk and his beau Amal Alamuddin, 36, who got married in Venice last month, are having a private bash at the lavish Danesfield House, which overlooks the River Thames, next Friday (10.24.14).
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Amal has a lot of her family in the UK so it made sense for them to hold another bash here following last month's wedding."
However, it is not known who else will be attending the party in South East England as members of staff at the posh hotel have been told to remain tight-lipped.
The insider added: "Hotel staff are under strict orders not to let slip who their upcoming guests are -- but everyone is buzzing about their arrival."
Meanwhile, the newly-weds recently splashed out £10 million on their first marital home - a plush Georgian riverside mansion in the small village of Sonning Eye, Oxfordshire, central England.
Their new property in the Home Counties boasts a steam room, gym, study, library, cellar and even a boat house, and the area is said to be home to many rich dwellers, including financiers and Arab sheiks and is often frequented by the Home Secretary, Theresa May.
Meanwhile, George already owns several properties, including a mansion in Lake Como, Italy, and a home in Los Cabos, Mexico, where he counts Cindy Crawford as his next-door neighbor.
