Just Jared is reporting that she was hard at work on "men at work", however Stacy's tweet indicates it was her first day on a new project. She started "men at work" on the 26th according to her tweets. More inconsistencies to add to the mix.

can't say I blame her if she chose work _ if that's the reason _ especially when, with george, we never really know how long the relationship will last. But if she wants to play it wise (seeking better carreer goals rather than droping everything to be with George( then she shall also be wise and not tweet in advance about every plan they have. That could be the better option next time around.
It really just makes me think they're really really casual _ and sometimes in that kind of relationship when you're both busy you can have your agenda a bit mixed up if something else comes up ? I don't know, maybe it's no bigger than that _ just a supposition

From the mouths of COH to Stacy's tweet. You know we could do a great job managing her career. I went into the wrong business.

yes.......it flew throughout the weekend even over the dinner with the President of the United States. Very interested to know myself what "today brought her"!! Maybe a fight with George, disappointment from half the nation for her behaviour....I wonder!

Socimar I don't think half the nation cared about Stacey's where abouts we are interested because we all are interested in George. I do agree though, COH could definitely do a better job of PR for her. The questions could have been avoided if she had just tweeted. There is no way they could have thought no one would notice her absence.

Guess Who Didn't Come To Dinner?

Stacy Keibler was supposed to be glued to George Clooney's arm at last night's White House Correspondents' Dinner, but I guess negotiations between their lawyers to extend her escort contract past awards season broke down, because the three things missing last night were her 50 foot-long legs and her plastered on fake smile. George came SANS an escort, but who needs a cocktail waitress or lady wrestler or Italian cokehead as a date when you've got Barbara Walters? Barbara was so excited to be squeezed up against George Clooney that her old lady juices overflowed up into her face and coagulated into a Juvederm-like substance. That isn't plastic in Barbara's cheeks. That's an orgasm!

George mostly spent his night charming ladies, having intimate moments with wine bottles and showing us what he would do if he was ever left alone in a room with his second holemate (after Brad Pitt): Michael Fassbender's peen.

And in case you missed it, here's the White House Correspondents' Dinner's prom king, President Obama, doing some stand-up comedy shit at last night's party (click here to see Jimmy Kimmel's act):

It seems that a lot of people believe that the two have broken up:

....so that's what George's GFs will be remember as, a cocktail waitress (SL) or lady wrestler (SK)or Italian cokehead (EC). Is George suffering from a "Pygmalion Syndrome"? that he feels he has to mentor and help these girls in their career and then is "sayonara"??

You know it could be George just dates Stacy. Sometimes she comes, sometimes he doesn't want her to come. Not sure why some fans always insist on a big relationship with him, especially since he appears to have some serious commitment issues with his women at least.

I would suggest you lighten up - no of the theories are going to get you or anyone else here any more information than your theories cause it will be a cold day in hell if George ever came on here and TOLD you the reason.

I merely commented that he said she's working and yet there continues to be conspiracy theories. I'm allowed to ask why no one seems to believe what is a simple and most likely true statement made by George that she was working.

Maybe you should improve your communication skills. Saying who the fuck cares is hostile and demeaning. This is supposed to be a fun forum people don't need to be patronized by someone else. If you didn't give a fuck then leave everyone alone who have been having fun sharing their theories etc. By the way i don't take anything personally just wish people could express their opinion without demeaning others!!!!

Sorry to burst any bubbles but new kid knows what I look like and she'll tell you I'm no Stacy! HA! I do wish I had her long legs tho.

But that plastered Barbie Doll smile, no thanks I'll pass! Oh, I think I did wear my hair in a bun on top of my head - like in the 60's when they were more fashionable but not lately! (And I don't get the latest trend either - for instance Kate Hudson doing a "Stacy" bun thing at the dinner which caused all the confusion) I really don't think that type of "hair-do" is very flattering to anyone. Too severe pulling the hair so tightly back like that. Makes me think they're trying to smooth out the face wrinkles! Brahahaha!

So not protesting too much, not taking it personally, just laughing my ass off!

I never thought she wasn't working or that George was lying. I am just pretty sure that the producers would have rearranged the schedule if she wanted to or could go. Girlfriend of George Clooney beats ex or about to be ex-girlfriend of George Clooney when looking for publicity any day. I just feel George is in charge, and for whatever reason he didn't want her there.

Also another idea, let's say he did break up with her, would he tell a reporter from Politico, a DC political newspaper with the occasional "celebrity" story, that he broke up with her at the White House Correspondent's dinner? What if they had an argument, and he didn't want her to come. Do you think George would really say something like that? She is working so that is where she is. True but also convenient.

Did I specifically say "Why does Mrs. Clooney give a fuck why Stacy is not at the dinner?" If YOU felt demeaned that's on YOU.

I specifically responded to YOUR comment telling me to GO READ AND COMMENT somewhere else so please get off your high horse.

I didn't tell anyone to stop commenting I gave my opinion and I use the word FUCK if I think it's appropriate.

As to this being a "FUN" forum - I beg to differ.

I've read some really disgustingly mean things that people have said to each other. I did not say anything to anyone in particular.

I did however feel that YOU were taking my comments personally as I mentioned to phys ed.

Why don't YOU Lighten up if that's what you say this forum is about which is having fun.

I'm having fun but I'll also respond if I think it's appropriate when someone asks me a direct question as you did.

As I said, if you think this is a FUN forum then YOU need to lighten up.

Now you may go on and comment all you want - I don't think there is any need for me to respond to you as I've done so now twice.

If you don't like my comments put me on your ignore list and have a good night!

You're arguing about assumptions, but not everyone has the right to express his opinion? Of course it is strange behavior of the pair G and SK. I believe that when you are invited to a dinner with the President so important if you can not participate is a good idea to apologize and cancel the other hand, all waiting for Stacy and she wrote on Twitter that he had the dress for the occasion! The interpretations may be many but one thing is sure if he had desired or if Stacy had wanted to be sure that job was not going to stop!

Gosh, did I ever miss a lot!

Quick round up of my thoughts (for anyone who cares!):

FIrstly, yep, I think it's weird that she missed the dinner too and then kept quiet about it. I'd have thought she'd have tweeted something sooner than she did, but oh well.

I don't think this means they've broken up, but the only reason I think that is because they made such an effort to be seen grocery shopping and out to dinner the night before. George does do weird stuff (remember Sarah Larson out on the red carpet with him at that fasion thing in New York and then dumped 10 days later?) but I don't think he's that weird.

socimar wrote:Absolutely correct...and there are times when decisions need to be made and she needs to keep her own commitments but the WHCD was her commitment, it came way before the so called sit com pilot (or whatever it is) and when the President of the United States expects you to be there, you said you were going to be there, you were fitted for the dress and twitted about it......and then you back out, sorry, it is not good.
Ah, bullshit. The president didn't invite her and I doubt he gives a flying a monkey whether she was there or not. This wasn't some important presidential event where attendance was mandatory. The president was also a guest of the hosts of the event.

She later got a more important thing to do and went with that instead of the dinner. It's not a bad thing.

cindigirl wrote:So it clearly shows where her priorities lay. And they're not with her man. Maybe he likes her that way, but still doesn't make sense to me how she could think her bit part in that little known sitcom is more important.
Why should she drop everything for George? He certainly doesn't drop anything for her and I don't think they have such a relationship.

I guarantee that had we found out she'd given up a job just to attend a relatively meaningless dinner we'd have been tearing her a new one.

The next mrs clooney wrote:Just Jared is reporting that she was hard at work on "men at work", however Stacy's tweet indicates it was her first day on a new project. She started "men at work" on the 26th according to her tweets. More inconsistencies to add to the mix.
JustJared doesn't know everything and like most gossip sites can't be bothered to check everything. How many posters here thought it was the Men At Work role that kept her away as well?

madsky wrote:You know it could be George just dates Stacy. Sometimes she comes, sometimes he doesn't want her to come. Not sure why some fans always insist on a big relationship with him, especially since he appears to have some serious commitment issues with his women at least.
Totally agree. IMO they're together, but it's not a serious thing. One day she'll be gone and he'll move on to the next one. We know it. He knows it. She knows it.

madsky wrote: I am just pretty sure that the producers would have rearranged the schedule if she wanted to or could go.
There I think you're wrong. Stacy Keibler isn't nearly important enough to force an entire shoot to reschedule around her plans for a weekend away with her boyfriend (which is what this amounts to).

madsky wrote:Also another idea, let's say he did break up with her, would he tell a reporter from Politico, a DC political newspaper with the occasional "celebrity" story, that he broke up with her at the White House Correspondent's dinner?

It was very dark in their area. her hair was done up on her head in some fashion, but really didn't look too well done. Also saw them sitting at a table after dinner was over, a couple of times during president Obama's speech and during Jimmy's. Wonder what the heck is up with this? PR time?

She also looked upset or pissed. had a pout when standing next to him on the floor.

Oh yeah, I did notice that when she got up and left with some others, that George got right up and followed, like he didn't trust her to "keep quiet", if you know what I mean about paps.

Katiedot wrote:Totally agree. IMO they're together, but it's not a serious thing. One day she'll be gone and he'll move on to the next one. We know it. He knows it. She knows it.

Hold up there a minute. Who is the one who made it into a big deal? That would be Clooney. Who is the one who paraded Stacy around the international red carpets as if she was the best thing since sliced bread? That would be Clooney. Who went out of his way, via the media, and his own red carpet performance, to give the impression that he was all loved up with this new woman of his? Again, that would be Clooney. So fans (I'm guessing) would be perfectly entitled to think this must be someone he likes, no? Because the alternative is that he's just using her for his own ends and will 'let her go' when a suitable period of time has passed so it won't look cynical or manipulative. Remember, this is about Clooney, not Stacy.

So maybe less about the fans letting their imaginations run away with them and taking things too seriously, and more about the man who's doing all the manipulation. Cool

He likes, yes. I wouldn't dispute that.

But where the hell do you get loved up or 'best thing since sliced bread' from? He's not done anything more with Stacy than he has with any of his other girlfriends and we've all seen how not-terribly-serious he was about them too.

Does he have to keep his casual girlfriends a secret? Does he have to hide them away like a shameful thing to be hidden except when he's seriously loved up and then, and only then, can they be seen in public with him? That does seem to be what you're saying.

Just because he takes them out with him doens't make it serious or a romance.

It's not whether they are serious or not the fact is she made a point about having the dress and was wished happy travels from someone on set on Friday. They had accepted because it was announced they would be there. It simply seemed odd she didn't show and didn't tweet to head off the negative comments.
Now someone correct me if i'm wrong but couldn't they have shot her scenes first so that she could have left.

Maybe we should be looking at this another way altogether. Perhaps she is totally secure in this relationship, not a political animal, has another job, and knows that GTC will be flying straight back to her on the first flight in the morning!

After all, he's 'very happy in his private life' (paraphrase), went through a few hoops to get her, (and the odd match), and she's there for him when he goes to Sudan, London etc., etc

She seems pretty similar to me - Germany, Barcelona........

Come now. Look at how he perfomed on the red carpets and over the entire awards season and the amount of loved-up media it generated. It's just silly to say that wasn't highly manipulative and designed to show him in a certain light. Can't be blaming me for reporting what I (not to mention countless other people) observed.

Does he have to keep his casual girlfriends a secret? Urr, no idea what any of that's about or where it's coming from. Certainly not from me.

Surely it doesn't need to be pointed out that there is a middle ground that most other celebs couples of any merit seem to manage to walk perfectly well, where a relationship is not used so blatantly and transparently as a tool for media attention? Does that need to be pointed out? Really??

Yes, that makes sense to me, particularly the bit about the politics/her non-attendance. One of the washington post blogs said that he spent the entire evening working the room and was there almost in a 'campaigning' capacity. Could be maybe he/they felt that it would be easier for him to do this without having to worry about whether she was bored/ok etc.

Anxala...you took the words out of my mind and mouth
as I was reading and copying this !
Stacy had to work late and as George was going to work
all evening, there was no need for her to bust a gut to get there.
Simple explanation in my mind. Plans have to get changed at the last minute for all of us

George Clooney works hard at Correspondents' dinner,
makes it look easy
By The Reliable Source

Clooney, center, chats up New Jersey Governor Chris Christie at the Bloomberg Vanity Fair White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) dinner afterparty (Andrew Harrer/Bloomberg) We have so much to learn from George Clooney: As thousands of guests tried to bolt from the ballroom of the Washington Hilton at the end of the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner — in a mad rush for the after-parties or the taxi line — Clooney stayed at his table and poured another glass of wine. [UPDATE: Scenes from WHCD weekend, 4/29/12]

Clooney doing the posing-with-fans thing at the dinner. (Larry Downing/Reuters)
It’s not easy to be a celebrity at one of these things, besieged from all sides by fans and distant acquaintances — no, really, that stuff is exhausting! — but the Oscar winner spent the entire dinner posing for photo after photo with every female who could squeeze into a frame with him.

And then he spent the next three hours on his feet — we watched, so we know — schmoozing a parade of VIP guests (Harvey Weinstein, Barbara Walters, Jay Carney) in the front foyer of the Bloomberg/Vanity Fair after party at the French ambassador’s residence, but making it all look like fun.

Why? “If you’re going to commit to do something, you need to do it,” he told us, still going full steam at 2 a.m. In Clooney’s case, that meant talking (mostly election politics) to everyone who approached — and strategically lobbying the people who can help with his pet cause.

Clooney with Colin Powell at the afterparty. (Joshua Roberts/Bloomberg) “My job is Sudan,” he said. He cornered Defense Secretary Leon Panetta for 10 minutes at the party; praised Colin Powell for his work in the region. “I’m not a policy guy,” Clooney explained. “I got to have long conversations here with people who make policy. All you’re trying to do is find politicians — from the right or left — who understand an issue and explain it to you. I walked away from conversations finding out things I didn’t know. ”

Make any progress? He grinned. “Nothing — nothing — gets solved at the Correspondents’ dinner. Ever.”

Party animal I think you would have to be very secure not only in your relationship but in yourself to be with George. The thing is she didn't have to accept if she didn't like political party's but she did and was excited about the dress.

My theory is simple Stacey worked on Saturday, but she was due to get on a plane and join George. Sometime between Friday and Saturday they had a bust up she didn't go. Maybe George knew she wasn't coming maybe he waited and she didn't show. Now George has to go, but doesn't want to have to answer where Stacey is so he being elusive as ever gets into the party but Politco ask and he has to say she had to work which is true. The guests aren't gonna ask that would be rude.

Now on Sunday they makeup, maybe he sent her 1,000 roses and a enima whatever it works. She goes on twitter and says she had to work late. Just Jared the night before never mentioned George or Stacey they mentioned everyone being there but them.
Stacey seems good at talking to people there were more than enough people for Stacey to talk to .

Which makes me think George didn't talk to Stan about this he handled it and we see the results. Stacey tweeting would have avoided the new breakup rumors and end of contract talk.

This is just my
theory I like Miss Marple and Mysteries.

Katiedot,

I never said that the President "invited" Stacey to dinner, I said he "expected" her to be there. When you accept an invitation and the President of the US is present there are logistics involved. The Secret Service/Security needs to know who, when, how many are coming, it's the protocol. Several team of people need to check and recheck the invitation list and the President knows exactly who is coming so he is not caught off guard. George Clooney was going to be a party of two but the second one never showed up.

There's a saying - You live by the sword, you die by the sword - Cray Cray uses twitter to twit pics of Einstein, "you know he loves you when", look at me I'm in Cabo, AGAIN, got my dress, etc. etc. etc. and then she says nothing, NOTHING about why she didn't go.

I'll be clear - I don't give a rat's ass why Cray didn't go, in fact, I'd rather not see her hanging off G's arm with her next bad dress and her stepford wives smile. But you can't put your life out there and then miss one of the most prestigious celebrity events in the US, and not tweet one single word about why, and not expect people not to speculate, or wonder or draw their own conclusions. And then, the first tweet is, "Integrity, blah blah blah".....and people aren't going to wonder wtf??

She should have kept her private life private, like she AND George keep saying....over, and over, and over again....

Now that I've read the piece about how he worked the room, I'm thinking maybe it was a conscious decision for her not to come. (She has been quoted as saying she stays as far away from politics as possible)

Maybe after the fact of her alluding she was coming, he realized there was a great potential for campaigning for his Sudan agenda and they rerouted, knowing she'd be a the fundraiser. And not only that, look how he was swarmed all evening. If I were his date, that would be awkward and boring.

Hence the grocery shop and dinner out, to maybe buy off Stacy, in the sense of a trade off. "Ok, here, we'll do some PR here and here and then I'll go to the dinner alone." I'm not saying that Stacy wields such power in the relationship as to compel George to make trade offs, but that maybe he just did it for her sake, to smooth the blow of not going to such a high profile event.

I keep coming back to how happy he looked at the dinner and even the next morning at the airport. No scowl at being papped. He's such a different looking guy when he's not with her.

And for the record, I love a good mystery and thank all my fellow fun conspiracy theorists who collaborate together in search of plausible answers. Pure enjoyment and I think we all know we take none of it as gospel truth (that is until it's confirmed!)

Hi Lakin that's for sure we don't take any of it as truth.
Stacey uses twitter for the dumbest things yet, to avoid drama and questions about her relationship that I would assume would hurt her she says nothing.

Stacy No Show for White House Correspondents Dinner - Page 3 Empty They are DONE

Post by kat2030 Mon 30 Apr 2012, 13:48

There is no possible way this woman cancels at the last minute TWICE to attend major Whitehouse events with George Clooney due to "work." A "guest" appearance on some show and a model shoot? Please.. Frankly, I can't believe this has happened TWICE within a few weeks. Esp after she was tweeeting about her dress! This woman looks like a fool for putting up with it, and he looks like a fool for continuing the charade.
Why does this guy even bother with relationships? If they arent "to his level" (despite activiely looking for that) then dont have a relationship! This guy has major "issues."
He needs to either come out of the closet, admit he's an egotistical jerk, or hire hookers (they'll give him a lot less "drama")

She was suppoed to attend the Whitehouse dinner with the Obamas (right after he was arrested) and the same exact thing happened. No apologies or anything.
She all of a sudden was a no-show and announced on her tweet she had a last minute modeling job or something to do. It didnt add up though, the dates.
Also found it strange right after he was arrested, they asked who he made his one phone call to in jail and he said his MOTHER?? Shouldnt it be your significant other?I think these two are contantly fighting and breaking up and he has a hard time calling it quits in their face so he pisses them off enough to do it for him. Just a thought..

Hi kat2030! Welcome!

I believe annemarie is right about this - it was never established that Stacy was invited or that she actively declined or avoided going.

Also, the comment about George calling his mother was a joke by George. The only reason you make a phone call from jail is to contact help in posting bail / getting out / get an attorney, etc., which was not the case here.

I know for me I am always fascinated by human behavior maybe because my under graduate major was Psychology. So Stacy not going, for me, is more about curiosity and I enjoy all the analysis here.

Stacy tweeted on the morning of April 29, the retweet quote "Integrity reveals beauty." This to me, is that she was letting her friends know something. Maybe, she was concerned about her moral character in this situation. During the week, as the guest list to the correspondence dinner became more public, she was being made fun of with Lindsay Lohan and Kim Kardashian. That she was an empty headed girl and what would she talk about with these people. Even the most together person would find this gossip stuff stressful. Maybe, George told her that she had to sit at the table and not say much, just act pretty. So she got tired of being ordered around and to many rules. Even the most lay back couple, after awhile, is going to have a fight. I can't believe it is always party girl Stacy and lets see where the wind takes us. Eventually, the honeymoon ends and reality sets in. This is the weekend where her reality set in.

Your right lovely lois we all have fights and disagreements. The thing is they went out of their way to show they are a couple . Stacey tweeting Einstein, grocery shopping maybe a pap got lucky and got the shot, But, there was no luck needed for the paps on thursday date night. If they go to all this trouble to stop the talk why not tweet she's not going to be there and head off the negative comments coming from her it would have been to me good for her she got work. Waiting until the last minute and George announcing it just looked odd and opened the whole questionable relationship again.
