Re: General Chitchat for October
Here's a quote of an article about Tilda Swinton in ContactMusic.
Tilda also reveals the Oscar she won for her role in 'Michael Clayton' - in which she starred with George Clooney - has had little impact on her life and she considers it largely "irrelevant".
He worked so hard to get nominated for best actor, she got the award and she calls it "irrelevant?" IMO there's something very much "off" about this woman.

Not all actors give a crap about the many awards they give out to actors and she's one of them. Kudos to her I say.

Re: General Chitchat for October
Been away from COH for a few days, hope all of you are enjoying this beautiful fall weather ( for some of you - spring weather ) Texas has been great, we've had rain, the temps have cooled down in the evenings so the days have been nice. Today was a breezy 90, tomorrow we will wake up to 40. This is Texas, if you don't like the weather just wait a second and it will change (except in summer).
There are so many actors that should of won that haven't, but whatever if it's not important to her maybe next time she gets nominated for an oscar she should not show up to collect it.

Re: General Chitchat for October
It's that time again!
LOCK YOUR DOORS AT NIGHT
You've no doubt heard about people
who have been abducted and had their
kidneys removed by black-market organ thieves.
My thighs were stolen from me during the night a few years ago.
I went to sleep and woke up with someone else's thighs.
It was just that quick.
The replacements had the texture of cooked oatmeal.
Whose thighs were these and what happened to mine?
I spent the entire summer looking for my thighs. Finally, hurt and angry, I resigned myself to living out my life in jeans.
And then the thieves struck again.
This was really getting scary - my body was being
replaced one section at a time.
What could they do to me next?
When my poor neck suddenly disappeared and was replaced
with a turkey neck, I decided to tell my story.
Women of the world, wake up and smell the coffee! Those 'plastic' surgeons are using REAL replacement body parts -
stolen from you and Me! The next time someone you know has something
'lifted', Look again - was it lifted from you?
THIS IS NOT A HOAX
- This is happening to women everywhere, every night.
WARN YOUR FRIENDS!
P. S. Last year I thought someone had stolen my
Boobs. I was lying in bed and they were gone! But when
I jumped out of bed, I was relieved to see that they had just been
hiding in my armpits as I slept. Now I keep them hidden in my
waistband.
I thought this was too 'important' not to pass on.
Have a wonderful day - with a joy-filled heart. Alwaysremember to Laugh! Helps the heart AND the wrinkles.
P.P.S. Those same thieves just came into my closet
and shrank my clothes !
How do they do that?

Adorable, Pattygirl.
Love the missing boob joke. LoL
So my lunch with my friend went well. She owns a store downtown and the human and dog bath products are her best sellers. She's been thinking about adding more dog products and we've talked about me helping her. We also discussed a new addition. I'm going to do some doggie bakery products and sell them at the store. We're going to work on 2 recipes and debut them during the Xmas shopping season. I tried a peanut butter ball recipe tonight. My boxer doesn't usually like dog biscuit type treats but she ate 5 of these and wanted more. Next week I'm going to start perfecting 2 flavors of doggie cup cakes or Pup Cakes as we're going to call them. Hopefully I'll make a little extra moolah in the process.

Great MGK, the dogs will all love you. Every can use a little extra $$. Didn't you say you were looking for work, couldn't find anything? Maybe this'll be a bonanza for you, and doggie goodies sell really well here in NY. Have a doggie bakery right up the street from me.

MGK, you could make some money selling dog products, ever been in a petco or petsmart? Try making any treats that are not fattening and made from healthy ingredients. I spent over 150.00 at petco&walmart last weekend all on pet products. Go for it, and when your rich you can pay for Como vaca!

Thanks Patty. Yep, been looking for work but the only thing around here is retail and I would have to work nights and weekends. That's a no go for me, I'd never see my daughter and with hubby being out of town all week, I would have childcare issues. So yeah, the extra money will be nice.

APHORISM: A SHORT, POINTED SENTENCE THAT EXPRESSES A WISE, CLEVER OBSERVATION OR GENERAL TRUTH....
- The nicest thing about the future is .. . .. that it always starts tomorrow.
- If you don't have a sense of humor, you probably don't have any sense at all.
- Seat belts are not as confining as wheelchairs.
- A good time to keep your mouth shut is when you're in deep water.
- Why is it that at class reunions you feel younger than everyone else looks?
- Scratch a cat . . . and you will have a permanent job.
- There are no new sins; the old ones just get more publicity.
- I've reached the age where 'happy hour' is a nap.
- Be careful about reading the fine print . . . There's no way you're going to like it.
- The trouble with bucket seats is that not everybody has the same size bucket.
- Do you realize that, in about 40 years, we'll have thousands of old ladies and gents running around with tattoos
in strange places? (And rap music will be the Golden Oldies!)
- Money can't buy happiness -- but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Cadillac than in a Yugo.
- After 60, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you're probably dead.
- Life isn't tied with a bow... but it's still a gift.

Wenslydale? I dislike the stuff because I find it too 'bright', dry and crumbly. Can't explain better than that and I'm a huge cheese lover. They make one kind with apricots that I quite like though.pattygirl wrote:I have a question for my Brit friends out there. Can you tell me anything about WESLEYDALE cheese. Thanks for the headsup, Katie. The one I saw had cranberries in it. Don't like dry, crumbly cheeses, like them rather creamy smooth texture, the kind that slices well.

They need to take that into consideration and make a tattoo that ages well... When you first get it, it's one thing and as you get older it turns into something else... I wonder if anyone has done that yet?

Don't know about that, cindy, but my granddaughter's boyfriend is a nationally known tattoo artist. Met him at my birthday party and he is a very thoughtful person. He is very careful about who he works on, on their reasons for wanting the tattoo and what the design is and what it means to them. He travels the country doing his work, has done celebrities many times. Was offered one of those "Ink" shows on cable and refused to do it.

Oooh a zen master, like Coach on Survivor that is what he says.
I had yet another blackout 2 and a half hours on Saturday night right at dinner time. Poor Dex he is scared of the dark and of torches he kept sitting on my feet and he is not light! Ended up eating a peanutbutter sandwich and wouldn't you know it the electricity came back on. Too late to do anything else by then. Just another 1500 posts from me too catch up. LOL

Pfft, I'm struggling with my zen right now. Just got a really rude email from someone who'd registered to join this site.
She responded to the auto-email that tells her she's been approved saying just "Unsubscribe me. And stop bothering me".
How bloody rude is that? I don't care if someone changes their mind and wants to unsubscribe a day after registering, but does it really hurt so much to be polite?

I'm still sad today. I lost my "granddog" on Thursday. Dutchie had to be put to sleep because of his back problem causing him to be paralyzed. Dutchie was only 6 years and was the second dog my daughter lost in the last 6 months, the other one before got slaughtered by a bigger dog. Dogs are wonderful but a heartbreak when they have to go.

Sorry about Dutchie, Cindi! I know what it's like to lose a loved one. Lots of memories though! Some will make you laugh, again, I hope!
