What I ask is are we sure Amal to carry own twins? Or surrogate carry twins for Amal. What makes people think Amal to carry own twins.has some one said she carry twins.did no one say she not to use surrogate.Sorry but I see no where to read who carry twins?

Alison,
do you expect her to do a pic like Beyonce did to prove that it's her who's carrying the babies and not a surrogate?

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
Have we already talked about the babies nationalities?
I asked my husband (who works as a Registration) today which they will habe.
He had to check at first since he usually has to deal with babies born in Germany.
They can't be Lebanese because this requires the Lebanese nationality of the father.
When they'll be born in Britain, they get the British citizenship automatically due to their mother's British nationality, and they'll (I.g. their parents) will have to apply for the Us citizenship.
When they'll be born in the States, it's vice versa.
Could cause problems (as my husband mentioned), but won't because that would mean bad press for these governments.

EXCLUSIVE: How Julie Chen Knew George and Amal Clooney Were Expecting Twins!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]by Leanne Aguilera 6:27 PM PST, February 12, 2017

Julie Chen announced Hollywood's biggest secret last week -- but just how did she know?!
ET caught up with Chen on the red carpet for the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, and the Big Brother host spilled exactly how she was able to reveal the big news that George and Amal Clooney are expecting twins.
"Here's the truth of the matter," Chen confessed to ET's Cameron Mathison. "My husband [Leslie Moonves] and I saw George and Amal about three weeks ago, and they causally mentioned that they were expecting twins. And we were all like, 'Is it a secret?!"
Chen said that George shrugged and played off the news like it was no big deal. "We didn't feel right telling anybody," Chen said.
"And then that morning that I reported on The Talk, it was in a British tabloid that it might be true or it might not be true," the 47-year-old host continued. "My producer said, 'We might not report on it,' And I'm like, 'No, it's true! It's definitely true! He said it wasn't a secret, and I've been dying to tell!'"
Chen added that she did not call and ask Clooney if it would be all right to announce the news on The Talk. "I didn't call, but Leslie has known him for so long. He [said], 'You know what, I think it's OK,'" she said. "This is news that everyone celebrates. How could you want to keep it a secret? And it's way past the 12 weeks. She's due in June!"

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
I just googled George's name and saw quite some articles where people claim / guess / speculate that Amal became pregnant via IVF, even ask GYNs if they think that they had an IVF treatment.
IMO that's just ridiculous. Maybe they used medical support to get pregnant, maybe Not. We'll never find out anyway, and I'm sure nobody would have an IVF if it wasn't necessary. I've done it as well, and I can tell you that that's no fun!
So I can't imagine anyone would do it 'because it's easier than the traditional way to conceive' or 'because twins are so cute' or whatever other reason there may be.
By the way:
I haven't read this about Beyonce's pregnancy...

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
I would guess the IVF speculation is because she was seen at a clinic, wasn't she? And because of their ages (particularly George).
So it's not unreasonable to wonder but of course, yes, it's none of our business and makes no difference either way how they conceived.

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
It is silly no one knows how she got pregnant rumors are just that unless you were there in the doctor's office no one knows.
I have never understood why people think George got fixed just because the women he dated never to our knowledge got pregnant. These women knew better they knew he didn't want kids and I think fame was more important than having a baby with someone who didn't want to marry or have kids.
I think George and the women knew how to prevent that from happening and did no surgery needed.
As for fertility problems it's possible it's also possible they got pregnant the old fashioned way. Amal isn't that old and she appears to be healthy, and skinny women can get pregnant and have children. George isn't that old either .

George of course could get Amal pregnant by himself...We've seen many male celebrities over 60 make new babies. Mel Gibson just got his ninth child.

Annemarie,
I just love your quote 'maybe they got pregnant the old fashioned way'!!!
Maybe it's something I as a twin mum just don't like: People I don't know privately, who hardly know my first name, ask immediately after they've heard that I've got twins: "Did you have an IVF treatment to get twins?" I mean, I don't ask them if they got pregnant because they were too stupid to use contraceptives or their condome didn't Work. Or if they practise SM-sex or whatever.
And we've got friends who got just one child via IVF, and nobody ever asks them if they has an IVF. People seem to assume only multiples with medical treatments...

Carol. it's like twins weren't born before IVF and they certainly were.
I feel bad for Beyonce with her first child the trolls said she wasn't pregnant and she faked it.
This time she felt the need to show her belly that is sad.
Having such lies told must hurt. People can be so mean and nasty for no reason.

Unfortunately that's the world we live in, I think, and when you market the whole family including the little one with endless side products too, it's inevitable.
Not sure I agree with children being used in that way actually. The unborn don't seem to have a choice!

PAN - The unborn don't have a choice, but the parents do. I guess it depends on what their priorities are. Which is more important - the family or the family fortune?
I can't see George parading his kids around in public just to stay in the public eye. I don't think he sees people as marketing tools.

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
I had a neighbour, a girl who had twins.... she was not at all sporty, a bit of a couchy....I bumped into her 18 months after having the twins....OMG, I have never seen a fitter woman....She told me it was The Gym of Twin....one in each arm gives you biceps like Arnold!....She said they we born underweight and felt like feathers, but in what seemed like no time she was lifting a 10 bls in each arm ( she said they were great "grubbers" meaning eaters)....Don't know about loosing teeth but he will be as fit as a butchers dog.....in no time....

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
Noooo Lizzy......I have always believed George to be one of my tribe.....Here's the thing as he would say himself.....I don't have, made a conscience decision never to have a baby....Just like George....Not because I don't like them, the absolute reverse.....I love them too much....I see danger everywhere.....I go hyper over what they eat....I would wait outside the school all day....and not allow to leave home before 36 OK 45 years old....It's extreme but that how I roll.....even without kids ask me to babysit and I don't drink for 3 days before!!!.....I take kids seriously, so will he, he will be hands on.....and the greatest gift you can give them is your time and attention......I don't envy George.....but I wish him luck and blessings and a special pair of Guardian Angels......
Ha...isn't it funny....thats how I noticed George....I was asked to baby sit a special baby and the American was on the TV.....I didn't know how to turn it off....so I watched it....and the baby of course....

Just as a point of information, vasectomy doesn't preclude future children. Besides the admittedly low-success reversal procedure, there is always the opportunity to store (freeze) sperm before the snip job. Under the correct conditions the sperm is viable for at least 12 years, and probably indefinitely.
George could have hedged his bets and saved some of his swimmers from when they were young and vigorous.

I assumed Moonves and Chen found out at Miguel's memorial service on the CBS lot, but I figured she'd at least gotten George's permission to announce it.. "Kind of said 'no it's not a secret'" and "Sure, broadcast it on national television" are two very different things. That's not cool.

What's the difference there? The engagement news also broke out when he started telling (more ordinary than close) friends around. He would have denied the rumors every time, and when he did not, it would be 90% true.

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
Julie Chen did the right thing in asking her husband, Leslie Moonves, if he thought it would be ok to announce it. His ok I think was good enough for her to air the news. Leslie and George have been friends for years. On top of that Matt and Julie both said George didn't seem bothered by the news getting out. Maybe he and Amal made a conscious decision to not make an official announcement but just let it come out naturally over time ...

The difference is that Matt didn't turn around and start spreading the news three weeks later, after getting the okay from, like, Don Cheadle. He shouldn't have to ask real friends not to spill personal news for ratings. Chen says herself that other people were talking about it (meaning the random press around the world, I suppose), and so she touched base with her husband (also her boss, who also would benefit from the ratings) to get the okay. If they're all so close, why not put in a call to George and say, "Hey, there's a lot of chatter about Amal being pregnant. Mind if I make it official?" They were actively trying to hide her pregnancy with bulky sweaters and jackets. Maybe she's not 100% in the clear health wise. Maybe they just wanted a little more time to enjoy the news privately. At the end of the day, it was not Julie's or Les' call to make. And IIRC, the engagement story broke because they were out celebrating with Rande and Cindy, and people at other tables overheard/saw the ring, forcing their hand. He doesn't often complain about fame, but it has to stink not having complete control over your personal life staying personal.

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
I really don't think he would want to keep his private life so private, he even stated out loud in a speech that "we met in Italy, and we're getting married in Venice soon in a couple of weeks."
Remember the initial reports came out out of Amal's family? Just like the engagement news, Dailystar got the world exclusives twice ahead of everybody. Also Cindy mentioned the September wedding date to paps months in advance, and I don't see George's relationships with Cindy or "source in Amal's family" broken already. The news around them got slipped out anyway, he seems not to be so bothered.
Matt was doing the Great Wall press the same day, being asked constantly about the babies wasn't a coincidence IMO. Don't forget this month's Cesar ceremony, Amal couldn't possibly hide the pregnancy by then on the carpet...This confirmation could prevent them from many awkward pretends in public.

Sevens - It's not so much whether they were ready for the news to come out but the fact that a "friend" did it without checking with them. None of his close friends said anything to the media even though they knew weeks or even months ago. They waited until the news was already out. IMO Les Moonves should have checked with George before his wife leaked the news.

I think you're both making huge assumptions that no one checked with George. In his world so far, nothing - and I really do mean nothing - ever has leaked about his life in a way that seemed unwanted by him: from dating to engagement to wedding, the stories have consistently come out from friends at a time that seems to have worked for George's timetable. That's the way he seems to operate. I don't think that any of his friends would have said a word in public unless they knew it was ok otherwise they wouldn't be his friends.LizzyNY wrote:Sevens - It's not so much whether they were ready for the news to come out but the fact that a "friend" did it without checking with them. It's not coincidental IMO that the story broke after the first trimester, despite some of his friends knowing from very early on. IMO George knew what he was doing by telling Julie the news and she knew well enough that she could announce it.

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
I agree Katie, I think Les probably texted George or they had the conversation earlier Les may not have said George and I discussed this to his wife . George isn't the type for big announcements it's life he knows it will get told eventually.
He knew his friends and he didn't have to say keep quiet he knew they would. He only told Moonves and his wife three weeks ago, while everyone else has known from the beginning.

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
I think they had told many guests in the recent events they attended, such as the screening, Davos forum and the Barcelona speech. Obviously they waited until the first trimester to make public appearances and start telling people. Even an ordinary attendee in Barcelona stated on Instagram that Nick hinted it was twins. Perhaps so many people had known the news for a while, and some of them already revealed to the media anonymously, especially the AFP report a day before. Julie just waited for three weeks to confirm that on a national channel, drawing the biggest attention.

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
George's neighbor in the U.K. said George alluded to a possible pregnancy when he ran into her. And Nick did let it out of the bag at the Barcelona conference. I think that is telling enough that George wasn't deliberately trying to keep the news private. The news was out there already when Chen made the official announcement. I can't imagine George had any problem at that point with Chen making the announcement on national tv.

Since Chen is an entertainment reporter, she hadn't talked about their pregnancy if it still was a secret. Because otherwise nobody would ever tell her a secret again.
That's part of her business: to be told secrets and keep them and to know exactly when it's time to talk about them.

I truly believe George has always had control of "leaks by unnamed sources" etc etc etc.Katiedot wrote:Missa wrote: The difference is that Matt didn't turn around and start spreading the news three weeks later, after getting the okay from, like, Don Cheadle. He shouldn't have to ask real friends not to spill personal news for ratings.I think you're both making huge assumptions that no one checked with George. None of his close friends said anything to the media even though they knew weeks or even months ago. They waited until the news was already out. IMO Les Moonves should have checked with George before his wife leaked the news.
It's not coincidental IMO that the story broke after the first trimester, despite some of his friends knowing from very early on. IMO George knew what he was doing by telling Julie the news and she knew well enough that she could announce it.
And now Nina is talking with/ quoted by Radar and TMZ?? The world as we know it is going to hell in a hand basket.
