Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
Well I suppose they will hide for another two or three months before announcing the baby is coming.
If they want to shoot down the romours, Amal could have just sported any one of her usual slim, tight dresses.

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
Two thoughts...
1. Brad and Angelina never made a formal announcement with one of her pregnancies, eventually it became obvious.
2. We're missing the bigger story here- she's photographed wearing the same dress twice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
Missa wrote:In those floral dress pics, she alternatively looks not-pregnant, 3 months pregnant, and 8 months pregnant. I feel like we've seen badly fitting dresses before that catch on her hip bone at certain angles and give that bump illusion.
That said, she WAS looking awfully busty in some on those Suburbicon set pics, and the other thing that can do that to you besides pregnancy is fertility treatments. So if she was getting fertility treatments in late summer/early fall, she could certainly be in her first trimester. Timed so the munchkins will come along just in time for them to be holed up in Italy for the summer.
Very good point, and I thought about it, too, but kind of dismissed it because I was pretty sure we'd seen pics of her drink-in-hand at some function(s?) during the same time period. If she'd been getting the fertility treatments long enough to get busty (but oddly, not 'puffy' in the face or bloated anywhere else), she would also have stopped the alcohol by then. One would think.
She looked selectively enhanced to me, frankly.
Or maybe she was out of the public eye during the puffy/bloated time.
But if true, and she's pregnant with even one baby, we're about to witness a sea change in Clooneyworld.

It would be wonderful to see George as a daddy he is such a loving and caring man. I think they will make good parents
Amal's family has said she is a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews.

There's plenty of drinks at the event, however according to Lainey, Amal just sipped water.

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
Don't know why they think it's a big deal: she used to re-wear a lot of her clothes:

For years we’ve been chronicling human rights lawyer Amal Clooney’s greatest sartorial hits. There’s never been a bold print, floral scheme or quirky cut she’s been afraid to experiment with, but last night she definitely thought one look was worth another spin on the red carpet, re-wearing a floral-print sheath dress!
She attended the premiere of the Netflix documentary White Helmets in London alongside husband George Clooney wearing a floral-embroidered cap-sleeve Dolce & Gabbana dress. We all know how “groundbreaking” florals are for spring (cue Miranda Priestly) but leave it to Amal to actually make them groundbreaking (and stylish!) for winter. The key was pairing it with interesting textured tights and sleek black ankle booties.

She last wore the dress in October 2015 on a date night with George in London, but because she paired it with $1,195 thigh-high stocking boots (also by Dolce & Gabbana) and a bright fire engine red swing coat, we don’t blame you if you didn’t notice the shift the first time around.

The couple was on-hand Monday night to support the documentary which chronicles the work of volunteers who helped save civilians during the daily airstrikes on Syria. At the reception following the screening George thanked the filmmakers for their work. “The reality is that bad things happen when the lights have been turned off. That’s what the bad guys want,” George said. “You have to have the lights on, and show what this really is, and show that these are human beings and not names and statistics. Maybe the story is true. Maybe not. The source again unnamed and sure went into a lot of personal detail. Would be curious how that person came upon all this info and if it is a close friend of the Clooneys the leaking of this info I don't think will go over very well with them.

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
Well, considering that the conventional ultrasound method doesn't reach 85% accuracy until after 12 weeks -- and most doctors wait until the 16-20 week visit to give a definitive answer because of this -- if by some chance they know this and have told blabbermouths, she would be at the end of the first trimester already.
But, let's say, on a lark, that a nearly 40-year-old former smoker, pregnant by a man more than half a century old, is getting special pregnancy care.
There is a blood test that is a little more than 50% accurate in determining gender in twin births before 12 weeks, but a bit better in single pregnancies at 7 weeks. She could have had a 4-D ultrasound, which hits about 80% accuracy at around 11 weeks... and then told the blabbermouths, who went straight to the 'press' who print the most shit about their dear friends the Clooneys.
Can you tell I think this is ridiculous? If she's pregnant and they're happy about it, leave them alone. Lord knows the kid(s) will be relentlessly hounded soon enough.

Is George Clooney's wife Amal 'pregnant with twins'? Rumours the human rights lawyer, 38, is expecting a boy and a girl as she attends Davos

George Clooney's wife Amal is pregnant with twins, and has even learned that she will have a boy and a girl, according to InTouch Weekly .
That's the claim from made on Wednesday by the magazine. The 38-year-old human rights lawyer and her 55-year-old Oscar-winning husband - who wed in 2014 - are thrilled with the news, it was added.
This comes after the brunette beauty appeared to show off a bump in a floral dress at a screening for The White Helmets in London on January 9. Then again on Tuesday the looker seemed to have a bit of a belly at the Credit Suisse Women Of Impact dinner in Davos Switzerland on Tuesday.

Amal Clooney has worn more hot off the runway designer pieces than we've had hot dinners, but every once in a while it's good to look back to a bygone era.
She was honoured at the Women Of Impact dinner, which she attended with husband George, and of course she looked a million dollars. Her sequin embellished dress is a vintage piece by Chanel, and when teamed with heels by Paul Andrew, it's a winning combination.
Designed by Coco Chanel, it hails from the Spring/Summer 1963 collection and we love the flattering layered effect, which is a look the French fashion house revisited relatively recently. The all over ivory sequin embellishment is super glamorous, and if you want to find out more then click (right) through to William Vintage. But be warned, you won't get much change from a whopping ten thousand pounds!
'Amal is pregnant with twins: a boy and a girl,' a source told the publication.
'When Amal and George found out it was twins, they were surprised, but also a little scared because they both had said that one was enough,' it was added. 'But the news that it was both a girl and a boy made them really happy. They feel like they've hit the family jackpot.'

According to InTouch, George is up for the challenge of having two children at once.
The former confirmed bachelor, who once vowed he would never get married again and never have children (in 2006 he told People magazine, 'Marriage? Who knows? I’ve been married. It’s not something I’m looking out for'), is reportedly over the moon.
'He's gone from never wanting to be a father to being totally excited about Amal's pregnancy and the thought of raising two children who will call him Dad,' said the source.
'He's been doting on Amal's every need and doting on her belly. He's also having a blast coming up with baby names.'
It was added this could be the role of a lifetime for the Ocean's Eleven star.
'George is going to be an incredible father. He's been a bachelor for so long that most people don't realize how great he is with kids,' said the source.
And the boy name may be borrowed from his father.
'The name Nicholas, after his dad Nick Clooney, is a shoo-in for his son. As far as girl names, he's leaving that up to Amal.'

Amal sipped a drink Tuesday laughing with the head of IMF Christine Lagarde
When it comes to naming godmothers, Amal will reportedly chose.
But George will pick the godfathers, it has been claimed, which could include longtime friend Richard Kind and his producing partner Grant Heslov.
And then there is also Cindy Crawford's husband Rande Gerber who he runs Casa Amigos with.
The publication added that Amal had trouble getting pregnant over the summer, so she turned to IVF. Now that the IVF was allegedly a success, they are preparing for the babies.
'They are having so much fun looking at all the baby gadgets and getting everything ready for the twins. They're going to be amazing parents,' the source added.
The nursery will allegedly be inside their $15m UK home in Sonning, Berkshire. There will be an entire 'baby wing' with a nursery, baby spa, playroom, library and even a mini baby pool, it was claimed.
It was also reported they spent $2m on the new baby spaces.
And InTouch even got specific about the new baby furniture, claiming they snapped up a $10,000 Notte Fatata crib and a $19,000 armoire from a 'top baby boutique' in Beverly Hills.

The only thing that suprises me about that 'report' is that they managed to get the names of George's two best friends right: usually the Mail is adamant that he's besties with Brad Pitt. That they picked Grant and Rande is surprisingly accurate.

Well, I would expect the nursery to be inside their home why would it be outside duh.
I'm sure if they are having a baby there will be nurseries in all their homes.

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
It always makes me laugh when "the source"
always refers to George as "the Ocean's Eleven" star.
Whoever "the source" is, he or she must be very
out of touch with George's many other films.
If the baby rumours are true......then I think
that news is great.
If it's not, it would be a terrific waste of a fabulous combination of talent and looks, IMO.
So once again with A&G.....Watch This Space !

Obsessing Over Amal Clooney’s Possible Pregnancy Is Ridiculous and Sexist
January 19, 2017 2:13 pm by Michelle Ruiz
Noted human rights attorney and activist Amal Clooney recently wore a floral shift dress to a movie screening in London, where it was swiftly observed by “onlookers” that she appeared to be “sporting a small [baby] bump” and was reportedly drinking only water. Never mind that she quite possibly was just parched and in the mood for a Dolce & Gabbana frock with a little breathing room on that particular night. The punishment for being a famous woman of childbearing age wearing a loose-fitting article of clothing in public whilst also possibly abstaining from alcohol was inevitable!
Approximately one week later, In Touch claims Clooney is pregnant with twins—a boy and a girl, to be exact. Other sites are cheekily pondering if she’s pregnant, relying solely on a sorry lack of evidence. One British tabloid is even doing that creepy thing where they morph Amal and her husband (you might know him?) George Clooney’s faces to imagine what the aforementioned hypothetical twins might look like. Yes, the Amal Clooney “belly watch” has officially commenced, and it’s pathetic and sexist and deeply objectifying.
This belly watch, whether among celebrities or civilians, is a gross, ridiculous little habit that needs to die. It entails reporters (if you’re famous), or glaring “friends” and neighbors (if you’re not) sleuthing a woman’s dietary habits (abstaining from tequila? Sushi, too? She must be with child!), fashion choices (if you’re not wearing body-con as an A-Lister, you’re at high risk for “preggo” rumors), and, perhaps worst of all, their waistlines (eat a robust brunch at your peril, for that could lead to a full stomach, or what is commonly known as a “bump”). All this in an obsessive quest to guess the status of a woman’s uterus before they opt to tell people themselves.
This last part is integral to the base nature of the pregnancy-watch: Why is it so urgent and important to investigate whether women are expecting, anyway, especially when many women who indeed are having a baby simply don’t want to share that information until further testing confirms the pregnancy is likely to survive? The truth is that no matter how far women come, no matter how accomplished they are there (and Amal certainly is), there is an undying cultural obsession with whether or not women procreate (see: Aniston, Jennifer; 2000 to the present) and an ensuing effort to define them accordingly.
This obsession extends to their character (those women who chose not to have kids are traditionally branded as ice queens) and to their bodies, beginning with scrutinizing, with A Beautiful Mind–like intensity, non-existent bumps, progressing to tracking their weight gains (as with Kim Kardashian West, who was likened to Shamu during her first pregnancy), and then wrapping up with the rapidity with which they lose baby weight. Of course, men, who are equally responsible in the creation of babies, do not share even a fraction of the scrutiny. It’s at least part of the reason why feminist author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie didn’t share she was pregnant until she’d given birth last year, saying, “I just feel like we live in an age when women are supposed to perform pregnancy. We don’t expect fathers to perform fatherhood.”
Indeed, no one, at the moment, is scanning George Clooney’s face for evidence he’s “glowing” or checking whether he’s skipping alcohol or sprouting a sympathy bump out of solidarity with his wife. Nor should we be. If Amal Clooney is pregnant, the world will know in due time. In the meantime, how about we pretend she’s a man and extend her the same courtesies as her husband?

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
I agree with you that this article is ridiculous.
Just wanted to add that it actually IS possible to know the sex of an unborn child at a very early stage of pregnancy: When you have an IVF, it's possible to select only male or only female embryos before implanting them into the mother's uterus.
This is not allowed in every country (in Germany it's not, in other countries it is allowed). And I'm sure that that's much more precise than 4D.
For George and Amal, there are a lot of IFs: If she's really expecting, IF they really used IVF, IF they had this pre-selection...
Time will tell...

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
Anna Wintour's article is so right (well, I participate in this 'Is she pregnant?' guessing as well).
My husband and I had a lot of problems to have children, tried out for six years and had several miscarriages and one tubal pregnancy over six years, and so we had to use IVF to get pregnant in the end - which is NOT funny, as I can tell you. But since our marriage everybody was expecting us to expect, and so we got a lot of comments and questions that really hurt. Later on, I told a friend of my mother what had happened and how much it hurt. She said: "Why didn't you just tell us? " And I replied: "Why do I have to tell you? Why do I have to justify why I don't have kids after several years of marriage?" She never really understood that.

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
I believe it is still the thinking of many that procreating is a woman's primary purpose ... her lot in life. It's an extension of who she is. Its not, but changing that universal mindset is a slow process. Having children is a very personal decision. Many women go through so much stress and anxiety when attempts to get pregnant fail over and over again. The intentional, and unintentional, pressure of friends and family doesn't help make the journey any easier.

This bothers me to no end, that people can decide if they want boys or girls.... kind of on the cusp of designing a master race.carolhathaway wrote:I agree with you that this article is ridiculous.

If you want a child, God bless- but being selective gives me the willies. What- if you got pregnant without medical assistance, and you wanted males babes, but God blessed you with girls, you'd live her less, or even at all?????

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
PigPen,
I never saw the necessarity to pre-select your child's sex. Then I watched a docu on TV about a couple. The mother had a brother with a certain amyotrophia, he was very ill and died at the age of 16, their parents sacrified themselves for him, and she always felt neglected - and then, because of this, she felt guilty as well. Since this amyotrophia is genetically based, they found out that this disease is handed over just by mothers, daughters are just carriers, and sons are the only ones who get this disease and die due to this. So she decided not to have children, until she met her husband, and they decided to have a child. She became pregnant, and they checked the child's genetic code before birth: it was a boy with a 90 % chance that he had this disease. So they had an abortion and tried again. When they got the result that this child didn't have this disease, she was pregnant again: a boy again, 100 % chance that he had this disease. So they had another abortion and decided not to have children. Until they heard that in Belgium it's allowed to pre-select the child's sex during an IVF. So they did this and selected female embryos and finally got a daughter.
I can't tell you if their decision was right or if they should either have accepted what they got or should have given up the wish to have an own child. But since my husband and I incurred a lot to get our children, I do understand their desire for a child.

I don't think that makes it credible, it is the same thing that was said before. The only thing that would be credible is George and Amal announcing it.

Re: The definitive George and Amal Clooney baby thread
I remember an article in which it was mentioned that they added a baby wing with a nursery to their Sonning home.
The article was written in a specific and very 'cheap propaganda style'. Like 'Do you think it's allright that George and Amal are adding a baby wing with a nursery so far away from their own living?
Which presumes that they
a) want children
b) are building a baby wing with a nursery which is
c) very far away from their own rooms.
So this is a similar story, I guess...

A neighbor reveals to Radaronline?
George Confesses: Amal Is Having His Baby!
Posted on Feb 3, 2017 @ 7:05AM
Amal Clooney has kept mum on her pregnancy status but RadarOnline.com has learned that George just can't hide his delight any longer. Click through the gallery to find out how daddy-to-be-Clooney spilled the beans on Amal's bump!
George let the cat out of the bag — on a dog walk, of all places! One of the couple’s neighbors confronted them while strolling on a dog walk near their newly completed English country mansion and he basically admitted that Amal is pregnant! “When’s the baby due?” asked Joan Farnese, who later spoke exclusively to Radar.
Indeed, Amal, 39, was looking bumpy in an out-of-character outfit for the fashionista – a baggy sweatshirt over a pair of leather pants.
Oscar winner George, 55 – who had been busy baby-proofing the estate — coyly grinned from ear to ear and all but confirmed the news with a sly, wink and a nod.
What’s more, the couple also set tongues wagging at his favorite pub, The Bull, where a waitress who routinely serves the A-listers exclusively told Radar: “They’ve always ordered red wine, but this time they had coffee, and Amal wanted decaf!”
She couldn’t hide her bump recently in a tight white dress, and the pub waitress revealed how her eating habits had changed: “Amal must be having pregnancy sugar cravings, because she’s started eating the sticky toffee pudding, which she never did before!”

Sevens - Don't know the truth of any of the RadarOnline story, but most of the photos are old and in the newer ones you can't tell one way or the other. If she is, we'll find out soon enough.

George reveals to a neighbor? I'd be very surprised if he did.
If I were that neighbor or the waitress at the pub I'd be writing a letter of apology about now for talking to the media. I'm guessing both of those people won't be on G&A's Christmas list any time soon. And they might just be looking for another pub to hang out in. I would be.
