I've heard a snake bite on the right hand (it looks like the right hand) means that a person is having a problem deciding between doing the right thing and the wrong thing. A George Clooney Film.

He got the tag because he is the director. All directors do it - Speilberg, Eastwood, etc. Even Michael Bay does it. Normal Hollywood practice. Film is a director's medium. The film is the director's interpretation and vision of the script.
