Amal Clooney looked ravishing in red at the Chinese-themed Met Gala on Monday. 
The slender human rights lawyer created the illusion of curves with her voluminous John Galliano gown as she walked the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with husband George Clooney.
It was an interesting choice of designer for Amal, 37, who was seen being fitted into her dress by Galliano in an Instagram photo shared by Vogue.

The picture attracted some criticism from social media users about the British-Lebanese activist supporting Galliano after he was found guilty of making anti-Semitic remarks.
Early in 2011, Dior announced they had suspended the Italian-British designer following his arrest over an alleged racist tirade at a Paris bar.
In France it is illegal to express anti-Semitic ideas and he was put on trial the same year.

In September 2011 Galliano was found guilty and sentenced to pay a total of €6,000 in suspended fines.
Galliano returned to fashion last year to become the creative director for Maison Martin Margiela. 
It was a striking look for Amal who glowed in her strapless gown which featured a beautiful layered and ruffled skirt with a sequin covered bodice.
She completed the look with jeweled earrings and a matching red sequined clutch which a helpful assistant held for her while she posed for photos alongside her dapper beau.

George's movie - directed by Jodie Foster and co-starring Julia Roberts, Jack O'Connell, Dominic West, and Caitriona Balfe - focuses on a bankrupt man who kidnaps the TV personality whose financial advice led to his bankruptcy.
The movie has an expected release in 2016.

Damn the time difference! I only just saw the pictures of them and I freaked out! I did not know they would be going to the Met gala! George looked great and I love the fact that Amal supported John Galliano because he is a fashion genius. The picture of her getting ready with Anna Wintour and John Galliano: no words for this! This is proof that Amal has officially arrived. They looked so good!

Wow.  I'm swimming in pictures this morning.  They are all wonderful.  Love the photobomb. And actually loves the pics of George with no tie and open collar.  Very sexy.

I think George looked incredibly handsome.  He may look older than 54 to some but it doesn't matter to me. I think he's a wonderful man, actor and humanitarian.
I'm not going to admire him any less because of  how he looks.  Just saying.

He is one of New York's best Society Photographers this is probably why Anna had her ban on social media.

Yes and he has done many Vogue covers and features inside the magazine.

I think Galliano was the perfect designer for Amal when it comes to theme events he does his homework and uses the theme. It was beautiful and not over done. Where as some of these women just looked a hot mess.

A bit off topic, but I would pay BIG BUCKS to find out if her hair is naturally that fucking shiny or if she uses something in it cause in some of her pictures it actually glows. For that - I can find a little bit of envious hate! HA!

I think Galliano was a good choice too, no doubt appointed by Anna Wintour. I read somewhere that he made this dress especially for her. I feel like Amal is a fashion icon in the making because of Anna Wintour. She must really adore Amal. 
I am not a big fan of the layered skirt however but I absolutely love the upper part of the dress.
George looked really good in white tie but I'm not sure if it was the dress code this year. I know it was last year. Anyway, he looked good and a bit overdressed, which we are not used to!

There were a couple of men in white tie that I saw. He looked good and it is a new look for him I love that he took it to the next level next to Amal.

Maybe George wanted to complement Amal's spectacular dress and thought only tails could do her justice.

I thought Galliano was a great choice too.  I read too that he made the dress for her.  What will she do with that dress now?  Most likely she won't wear it again.
I looked at many pictures of women at the gala.  I don't think I'm predujiced (well maybe) that I think she was the best dressed. Also liked Uma Thurmon, Katie Holmes and Kate Hudson.  Thought Reese Witherspoon's dress was elegant but maybe a bit to simple for this event.  Amal stood out to me. Or  maybe it was the man she came with who caught my attention.

Amal fit the theme so did Fan Bing Bing , I thought Helen Mirren looked lovely in red. Well if your wife looks that good you definitely need to stand out too. Lol.

There are tons of products that make your hair shine but she probably has very healthy hair as well.

George looks handsome as hell. I think he needs a toning facial and some sun, but I suspect he has to wait on that until Jodie Foster knows no shots have to be redone or extra shots taken and gives him the okay.

Again, I am not a fan of the 'Hollywood hair,' but I can live with it. Probably not a lot of other options, unless he slicked it straight back.

As far the pants... Slacks for coat and tails are cut a bit differently, so I don't think they were "tight" myself. And I don't see the, um, point of discussion, but if indeed there was something, he could be excused. I understand there were lots of beautiful women in sheer dresses at the gala.

Not digging the formal tails...  can't tell if any other man wore tails.  All I noted were standard tuxedos.  Even worse as they were leaving... tie off, collar flipped up.  Yeah, I'm in the minority. He has a movies coming out.  But, really do think he's trying waaaaaaaaaaaaay too hard here, folks.
