Thanks PAN. You're on top of this tonight. George looks fantastic. Love his blue shirt and striped tie. He and Danny look like they're having a terrific time together. They should go out afterwards, kick back and have a few limoncellos. Like old times. I don't think either one of them will ever forget the last time they did!

Her night off! George Clooney replaces wife Amal with funnyman Danny DeVito as his plus one while stopping by NYC charity event
He's still a newlywed who has kept a low profile since tying the knot with Amal Aladmuddin in 2014.
But on Monday George Clooney had another date as he attended the SeriousFun Children's Network's Gala in New York City.
Instead of his lawyer spouse, the 53-year-old posed on the red carpet with acting vet Danny DeVito.

That's not Amal! George Clooney was accompanied by funnyman Danny DeVito to the SeriousFun Children's Network 's Gala at Lincoln Center in New York City on Monday
In addition, Meryl Streep attended the star-studded soiree which honored the legacy of the late actor and SeriousFun founder Paul Newman.
George looked dapper in a two-piece black suit, white dress shirt and striped blue tie.
Shiny black dress shoes looked perfect for the fancy event.
Danny, who more casual wearing a navy shirt, black jacket and color coordinated trousers.
Three-time Oscar winner Meryl brought her fashion A-game.
She donned a collared shirt with metallic sheen, wide-leg black trousers and leather heels.
All guests were asked to wear SeriousFun Children's Network's signature blue color somewhere in their cocktail attire.
Also at the bash was Tom Hanks, Carole King, singer Aloe Blacc and Gayle King.
Fans may have heard about SeriousFun Children's Network from the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

George is being funny...
"Since 1988, these camps have [helped] over a half million sick kids and their families from over five, from over 50, not just 500 countries... that would be too many." An observer tells Us that Clooney then made a pensive expression, pondering whether there really were 500 countries.
"There aren't that many... Are there 500 countries?" Clooney mused onstage. "My wife's the smart one."

George Clooney Gushes About Wife Amal
Actor George Clooney can’t say enough wonderful things about his wife of five months, Amal Clooney.
Speaking with “Extra’s” AJ Calloway at the SeriousFun Children's Network gala in NYC, Clooney beamed, “I really love my wife. I’m having a great time and I’m very proud of her, couldn’t be more proud of the things she does.”
Clooney hit the red carpet with fellow actor and friend Danny DeVito, and explained Amal’s absence. “She’s trying to get a guy out of prison in Egypt. I think so, so she’s working, she’s got a lot of stuff to do.”
Clooney and DeVito were happy to be supporting a good cause and having fun together, and poked fun at Calloway. George laughed, “He crashed my wedding! He dressed nicely though. He always dresses nicely.”
Calloway added, “He gave me a bottle of tequila, so it made up for everything.” George winked, “Know how much trouble we get in with booze, Danny?” Danny jokingly replied, “I’m staying away from it… at least until after the show.”

How George Clooney Brings Hollywood and Politics Together
by Rosalyn Oshmyansky 5:25 PM PST, March 03, 2015
As a Hollywood power player, George Clooney is bringing worlds together.
ET caught up with the actor at the SeriousFun Gala honoring Paul Newman on Monday, and he was not shy about partying it up with his close friend Danny DeVito.
WATCH: George Clooney's Wedding Was Star-Studded
"We end up on the front of the Post every time we hang out so we have to be really careful," Clooney said.
When he's not drinking lemoncello with DeVito or spending time with his wife Amal, Clooney brings light to political issues he's passionate about. Recently, he wrote a New York Times op-ed titled, "Sudan's Rape of Darfur."
In the op-ed, he writes at length about sexual violence in the village of Tabit. "During our own visits to Darfur, the Nuba Mountains and refugee camps in neighboring countries, we have heard story after story like those from Tabit. These 'torture rapes' are just one tool in Sudan's criminal arsenal, which also includes aerials bombings of hospitals and agricultural fields, burning of villages and the denial of food aid."
NEWS: George Clooney Rails Against 'Daily Mail'
At the SeriousFun Gala, Clooney told ET, "It's blown up again. It's getting worse, and it's getting ignored. And we just want to keep the word out there because it’s a real tragedy."
As for why Amal wasn't by his side at the event, she was working for an important cause. "She's got a guy in Egypt she's trying to get out of jail," he explained.

I loved the video of "You've got a Friend" and
how the power and joy of the music eventually got
through to the young people on stage. They were obviously overcome at first but then the music
won and they began to enjoy themselves with
the adults.
And George was clapping out of step for a while....
made me smile.

George Clooney Makes Time for Kids (at the SeriousFun Children’s Network Gala)
It was all about the kids Monday night, as A-listers like George Clooney, Meryl Streep, and Tom Hanks took the stage at the SeriousFun Children’s Network Gala in New York City to perform alongside campers from the charity that benefits children living with serious illnesses. And a success it was: the evening raised more than $1.5 million for SeriousFun Children’s Network, which will benefit its 30 camps and programs around the world.
Clooney—who was clad in a two-piece suit with a blue tie in the charity’s signature color—excitedly greeted the children and introduced himself to starstruck youngsters before posing for photos with his plus one for the evening: Danny DeVito. So does the actor, who recently wed beautiful barrister Amal Alamuddin, want children of his own? “Nice … good try!” he laughed to InStyle before heading inside Avery Fisher Hall to prep for the performance.
Aloe Blacc, looking dapper in an Armani ensemble, performed three songs at the gala and explained why he was so excited to be involved that evening: “It’s special for me to be here because my goal with music is to use my voice for positive social change so this is one way,” he shared. “Offering my songs and my time to this beautiful charity started by Paul Newman is a small token that I can give in the big grand scheme of helping in the world.”

The "my wife is working on an important case" thing will always be perfect for whenever he wants to go stag or she wants to beg off.
I think he was in rhythm on the stage. Just doing every other beat for a moment.
Tom Hanks, on the other hand, dances like a White guy.

How many people use "the husband" expression? I don't like "the wife" reference either. Wives have names. Use them. Or simply say "my beautiful and most wonderful wife".

I am a little skeptical when someone has to keep telling everyone he loves his wife or she loves her husband, which ever the case may be, it's like they are trying to prove it to everyone or themselves.
