Re: George Clooney at dinner in London
I don't know her so I can't know how she is, in fact I have already said that I didn't mean she is not respectable or smart.lelacorb wrote:As you can, from a photo, decide that this woman is not smart? It could also be a future Nobel prize for what we know about her!Doug Ross wrote:Calm down, I mean women.Ocean wrote:"Girl"???!!!Doug Ross wrote:She's not his kind of girl.
He's a 52 year old man. He should be dating women, not "girls."
What are his types? Are you basing it on several mega-fails in a row? After all, they did "break up."
The publicity embarrassments aren't particularly attractive in recent years: semi-naked, trashy photos of women who aspire to be famous models but never made it; peripheral Z-list entertainers??
Let's see, he's been with SO many women, does he have a type?
Thin is his only prerequisite, it seems.
From women his own age like Talia Balsam (older), Carole Radzowill, Kelly Preston, Karen Duffy & so on. Probably tens of others discreetly.
This woman seems respectable. Her shoes are awful & mismatched, but apart from that she's not skank-looking like an escort who posts desperate photos.
He looks better with decent, attractive women, than cheap ones.
Above all, I hope he's happy.
What I wanted say is that she's different from every gilr he dated in past.
I didn't say that she's non respectable... I'd like see him with a smart woman, but it never happens.
I don't even know if he was dating her, so my remark about smart women didn't referr to her.
I was talking about most of women he went out with, and some of them didn't seem so smart.
But it's is life, he can do whatever he wants.
(anyway, sorry for my english)

Not Desplat's wife. She's a blonde and looks like she's late 40's or early 50's.
Found her pic on Zimbo. She's a professional violinist.

I doubt this was a date. I'd wager it was a dinner with some business or film related folks.
That some of you folks are getting all bent out of shape is kinda funny.
Truly if George were "dating" her he sure as hell wouldn't be going any place that paps could catch him until they'd been together for a while. No way he would subject someone he was interested in to his crazy life before he was sure SHE would be comfortable with it.

Whoever this lady is, she looks more age appropriate. Like she's in her 40s.
Although, Monika Jakisic is 36, EC is 35 & SK, 34, they all look much older as well as cheap images. Too much partying?
Anyway, the gossip media has a fascination with his private life. PR teams feed it. He plays it...maybe.

I don't think girlfriend , there is the distance add they both work a lot and I don't think that will equal romance.
It is funny how we all jump to conclusions when George is seen with a woman.

Re: George Clooney at dinner in London
Yes, she's very prominent & successful in her career.
Must be a dominant type, just like him.
Two strong characters. Hope they don't clash.
.....
She studied at Oxford University in the mid-nineties. Graduated in law prior & post-grad at NYU too. Probably in her early 40s. From Beirut.
Intelligent & attractive Muslim lady.
.....
It may be an infatuation. Another challenging conquest for him. Not too hard as she would yield. Many single women in that age bracket would.
He's George Clooney after all.
......
She's respectable, as I wrote earlier on.
A far cry from the image-damaging plain trashy types he chose in recent years.
.......
Maybe he fell in love. Or a blind date.
Or
It may just be work.
.......
All the best to him.

Atalante thanks for the link very impressive lady. Even I would be happy to see, if it was personal. They must have had some conversation, so many interests the same. She is not only intelligent but has the fortitude to do amazing things with it. In that way alone she is like George. Thanks again Atalante for the link very interesting.

Abstract
The Review Conference on the International Criminal Court (ICC) held in Kampala in June 2010 resulted in the first amendment ever made to the Rome Statute. This historic amendment was, in substance, a rather modest change to the provisions on war crimes — expanding the Court’s jurisdiction over the use of prohibited weapons in international armed conflicts to their use in armed conflicts of a non-international character. The amendment was relatively uncontroversial because the language to be added to Article 8, and the accompanying elements of the crimes, already existed for international armed conflicts. This language has yet to be interpreted by the ICC, however. The breadth of the Court’s jurisdiction over the newly added crime will likely depend on how broadly the Court will interpret the prohibition on the use of ‘gases’ and the mens rearequirement for each of the crimes. Perhaps most importantly, the Court will have to clearly define where the jurisdictional line between internal law-enforcement activities and armed conflicts should be drawn.
Overall, the amendment forms part of a broader movement to reduce or remove the distinctions between the protections available in international and non-international armed conflicts. The process by which the amendment was successfully adopted is also instructive for future efforts to modify the ICC Statute.

Yes, she is highly educated & accomplished.
Maybe John Prendergast & his wife Sia Sanneh, who's a law academic & Yale graduate, introduced them as friends or a blind date.
Conversation would have been very interesting. Especially Human Rights work.

Lawyers of her class are by definition discreet. It is part of their remit, and we will never know, but the connections are, I suspect, many. Kofi Annan (who let's remember, has been a visitor to Villa L'Oleandra), Prendergast, ICC, and now possibly advising on Al Bashir.........so let's just say a possible mutual admiration society - or MAS for short.
The knowledge of people like this is invaluable to us all. Oh, and there are quite a few websites in the UK describing the new 'Hottie' lawyers..........not thought to be the done thing until quite recently

Re: George Clooney at dinner in London
This is great news!
At dinner in London, man got to eat.
No booboo. I hate to break it to you pal, but this is not good for the game.
Hugh Grant is to blame for all of this!
(You might be old enough to remember this romantic comedy star, I´m still kind of young but I prefer old movies. So I remember.)
YES HE IS. Damn you Grant, merde! He started it with the exotic women. Talking about a role model. Clooney is following his steps, going clockwise (look at the map), couple of more visits to God damn London, few more stops on his travels, and before we know he ends up with a daughter of Vietnam. Whatever. As long as he is happy and loving it! Wait a minute. Not happening! Can´t be.
Could London present itself as a godsend location for us too? I don´t but there are many women who like exotic eastern men too (IF they have pockets deeper than Saad Hariri).
His satellites must have noticed the moon shoes from light years away! Those shoes are really, really cheap or costs more than the GDP of Sudan or Burkina Faso! There is something to talk about.
Maybe he is practicing for his next role as the neo arabic’s Shakespeare. Could be. Who can tell?
Disclaimer: Do not attack me! I like lawyers, two of my best friends are them. I am deeply depressed with low self- esteem after reading this. I haven´t even been to Beirut or seen Kofi Annan! Where is the nearest chocolate O U T L E T ??? (Box of chocolate won´t do.) Understandably I couldn´t, at this state of mind IQ dropped lower than the room temperature, carefully pen down my post. And it´s rainy day. Tomorrow is Monday. What a relief to get back to work!
Have a nice day sunshines

My impression is that he would respect this lady. No doubt find her challenging. She is attractive, Muslim, highly-educated & successful in her career.
Opposite end of the spectrum than the temporary PR embarrassing images he's promoted on the red carpet, like Canalis & Keibler.
Maybe this is what he likes.
Maybe somewhere between the two polar ends.
As long as he's happy & in love.
