Interesting picture, never saw this.
And how would you engrave his Oscar?
You could put sweet little hearts on it and the date of your wedding day, maybe he will remember it then...

In English it's referred to as a double entendre. Not sure if that translates into French at all. If you ever get to use "engraving the oscar" but there's nothing you cant really turn into a double entendre

Re: George Clooney at the Oscars - 2013 Academy Awards
Whether she's your cup of tea or not, George chose to bring her to the Oscars. That makes her part of George Clooney at the Oscars. If it's related to last night (not her past) it has a right to be discussed here.
I'm not crazy about the beard. I think it ages him. I do think they matched better last night, seemed more a couple, not in love but a couple. I loved her dress and I don't often like any of the red carpet dresses. They just seem like comfortable friends and I don't see why that's a problem. He looked like a proud dad or older brother watching Grant and Ben make their speeches. I think that was my favorite moment.

He did look very proud of Ben and Grant. So loved George's generosity that Grant got to speak first, Ben was beautiful with his voice cracking when he mentioned his children's names. Great speeches all round.

I remember reading somewhere about "the boys" and George was the fixer. If something is wrong he needs to "fix it". He wants his friends to be happy. I love that about him. He really seemed to want to make it their night not all about him.

Ed Reed razzed by George Clooney on Oscars red carpet
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Chris Chase, USA TODAY Sports3:54p.m. EST February 25, 2013
There are two things a red carpet correspondent must do at the Oscars: Ask actresses who they're wearing and get teased by George Clooney. It's part of the gig.
Until Ed Reed's red carpet segment airs Wednesday night on NFL Network, we won't know whether he asked Halle Berry about her Donatella Versace. He passed the second prerequisite with flying colors.
Clooney stopped to talk to Reed, who was a correspondent for Rich Eisen's podcast, on his way into the theater.
"You hurt me bad; I'm a Bengals fan." Clooney joked to the All-Pro safety, according to Dan Hanzus of NFL.com.
It's not weird that Clooney is a Bengals fan – he was raised in the Cincinnati area, his father was a prominent television personality in that city and George once was lured to the Ellen show because she promised a meeting with his Reds heroes, Johnny Bench and Joe Morgan.
But isn't it sort of weird that Clooney is a Bengals fan? It's so uncool. It's so un-Clooney. That's like finding out Frank Sinatra spent most nights sitting in his boxers, watching Andy Griffith reruns and eating Cheerios straight out of the box. No wonder Clooney doesn't celebrate this fact or try to become the franchise's Jack Nicholson. Being a Bengals fan is damaging to his cool cred.
Reed did no damage to his cool cred on Sunday. He wore a black tux and black shoes with purple highlights, a purple bow tie and purple pocket square.
"Usually I'm the guy not doing interviews," Reed told Richard Deitsch of SI.com. "I'm focusing on my job. So to do something different was fun. I think I did all right."
Buried in that Deitsch column is the news that Rob Gronkowski originally was to be the NFL Network's red-carpet correspondent but pulled out last week. Devastating news. Since Harvey Weinstein seems to have his mitts on everything at the Oscars, I wonder if this was somehow his doing. The possibility of Gronk corrupting Jennifer Lawrence with a wink, some intro-to-Spanish pickup lines and a bottle of Budweiser may have been far too risky.
Having Gronkowski interview Daniel Day-Lewis while in a tuxedo cutoff and foam dome wasn't the only missed opportunity. Since Reed was in the building, producers should have utilized his talents. Instead of using the Jaws music to play off long-winded Oscar recipients, Reed should have been stalking the proscenium, ready to strip the statue as necessary. He could have sprinted into the Green Room and placed it into the waiting hands of Clooney. Sure, he's already won a few (and got another Sunday) but even the most successful Bengals fans could use a pick-me-up.

Oscar Bromance alert! Ben Affleck and George Clooney goof it up backstage
By Meriah Doty
Sure, Ben Affleck showed his appreciation for winning a Best Picture Oscar -- along with George Clooney and Grant Heslov -- but that didn't stop their school-boy giddiness backstage.
"Bingo!" Clooney said jokingly to the swarms of ooh-oohing reporters holding up numbered cards in hopes of being called on to ask the freshly minted Oscar winners a question.
All three winners produced some zingers when asked to review the trajectory of their chances to win:
Reporter: Obviously at certain points we thought that other films might win this. Could you describe when exactly you felt a tipping point in your favor?
George Clooney [half joking]: Michelle Obama.
Grant Heslov: Tonight.
Ben Affleck: When they gave us the trophies I was confident that we would win.
Clooney [deadpan, doing that famous Clooney head nod of self-satisfaction]: I'm completely confident.
Affleck: I didn't second guess, is this a prank?
Clooney: He did look at the envelope.
Heslov: Even as I was giving the speech, I didn't think we could win.
Affleck: Once Grant let me talk, I felt good. I didn't get too much into the "Oscarology" and the pontificating. And the guys who do that stuff and report on it, which is great, and people like it and they're interested in it. And I hope people are interested in the Oscars because it helps our industry and helps make better films, but it doesn't help me to read up on that stuff. So I was thrilled for Billy, I was thrilled for Chris, and when it came along, I was thrilled for these two guys.
At one point, Affleck and Clooney went into freestyle mode when one reporter seemed to go a bit too far, asking the winners to attend a special event.
And just to warn you, Clooney got a little R-rated:
Reporter: Hello. I'm from the American Foreign Service Association in Washington. Your movie and also the comments you've made and all of the awards ceremonies has really raised the image and the profile of the Foreign Service, something that we don't get very often, we don't get much play. But I would like to invite you, all three of you to the plaque ceremony that we have in the Department of State on May 3, where we honor fallen Foreign Service officers. This year
Moderator: I'm sorry, I have to interrupt. Do you have a question?
Reporter: Yes. Can you come?
Clooney: That's really a personal question.
Affleck: Do I call you or just...
Heslov: I'm able to, yes.
Clooney : There's a line. There's Ben.
Affleck [for the save]: I don't know that we can come, but we do have, all of us, a tremendous respect for what the Foreign Service sacrifices and goes through and that we, I think, gained further appreciation for that as we shot the movie and visited the State Department. I know Secretary Clinton a little bit and Secretary Kerry a little bit better so we were able to shoot in the I'm not sure that that's why, but from my sort of distant acquaintanceship with both of those Secretaries, I've really picked up an appreciation for what the State Department does, what our Foreign Service does, what they sacrifice.
Clooney: Grant and I will be in Berlin shooting so we won't make it, but maybe Ben might be in town.
Affleck: Thanks, George.
The hilarity -- and a good dose of sincerity -- ensued when Affleck was asked to reflect on the fact that Michelle Obama presented his best picture award:
"I was sort of hallucinating when that was happening. In the course of hallucination... It doesn't seem that odd when some other -- 'Oh, look, a purple elephant, you know, Michelle Obama.' But it's natural because the whole thing is so unnatural. Honestly, I was just asking these two guys outside, was that Michelle Obama? The whole thing kind of alarmed me at the time, but in retrospect, the fact that it was the first lady was an enormous honor and the fact that she surrounded herself by service men and women was special and I thought appropriate. Anyway, it was very cool."
Heslov, chimed in, "And I'm a big fan of the bangs."

You know Joanna I don't normally care much for Piers Morgan but I thought that was a good interview too. I like the way he looked at both of them and talked to both of them during the chat. I don't care who anyone's date is, it must feel odd to not be spoken to. He asked intelligent questions and used what I would call good manners with both of them. Good job to him!

George seems a charming gentleman of the elderly, aged 60 and demonstrates intristisceè thing I look at his eyes, he always spoke and smiled with his eyes and does not happen anymore. The spectacle of the Oscars was boring and heavy worthy of the worst South American soap opera luckily won Argo, only positive note!
SOME TIMES I REALLY DOUBT YOU ARE GC FAN OR WHY YOU TRY TO PUT HIM DOWN WITH MOST OF YOUR POSTS , VERY STRANGE ....
ELISABETTA SAID LAST YEAR SOMETHING ABOUT KARMA ROFL , I THINK KARMA LOVES G AND SK HEHEHE . AND HATE ELISABETTA .
FYI .. EXCUTIVE PRODUCER IS THE ONE ONLY FUND PROJECTS , PRODUCER ACTUALLY HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF LOCATION , ACTORS , AND HELP THE DIRECTOR TO MAKE HIS JOB EASY , AND WE HAVE HERE ON THIS SITE MANY CANDID PICS OF GC WORKING ON SETS WITH BEN IN ARGO ! HE DIDN'T ONLY FUND THE FILM ,BUT I AM NOT SURE THAT YOU DON'T KNW ALREADY !
I am a fan of George for many years but that does not mean I do not have opinions, and that always defend everything he does. I'm so happy that he won that won George Argo, etc. but I'd like (and I think he'd like!) Win an Oscar for director, the producer is very important but it is not an artist, the director is an artist and I I would like to triumph the art of George .... got it! then if you're referring to the fact that I find very old you place two photos taken at a distance of two or three years and these pictures will speak for me![You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I like the shorter beard too. I'm not sure if it's the beard that's aging him though. For me there's something about his eyes, like there's something in the back of his mind, a problem he's mulling over, trying to solve. Maybe part of his brain is still working on MM even while he's here. Does anybody else think his eyes look a little troubled?

The cynical snark in me wants to point out that he seems very in-the-moment in the photos with Grant and Ben, and even leans into or tilts his head towards Grant -- a body language sign of affection. Not so in the, ahem, other pics.
But, not being a cynical snark, I won't say anything like that.

I don't think that's being snarky. I haven't looked at all of them yet but I like body language stuff. I think it can be very telling. There used to be somebody on here who knew quite a bit about body language and I loved her posts. George always seems most comfortable and happiest with his guy friends. And I don't mean that in a gay way. He seems to like being one of the guys.

She looked quite lovely, but he could have been stood beside any woman or she could have been replaced by a smiling cardboard cutout of a woman, for all the interest he showed in her. I never see any deep regard for her. It is all very clinical. They don't scream 'couple' to me.
