George Clooney nominated in International Press Academy Awards (who??)

I'm not sure who the IPA is and whether or not this is a significant award or not, but the prizegiving ceremony is this evening (Sunday). Thanks sis for the link.

The Satellite Award Statuette

Ante Marinovic, world renowned sculptor and designer of the Satellite Statue, was born on the island of Korcula in a Mediterranean fishing town called Vale Luka, Croatia. He graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Split, Croatia. He also completed advanced courses for his degree at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade, Serbia.

Well, that's kind of cute! I think he's won a Satellite Award before. I'll go look...

I guess more than one nomination, but only one win!

I was busy doing the "what nots" and didn't have time to read it!

I really don't care if Stacy was there or not. She can fall down a great big hole as far as i'm concerned.

The real question is, did George go and if so are there photos?

Surely there would be pictures by now if George had of gone. Unless Stacy is really bored at the event and is posting from there it looks like she didn't go.

Fox Searchlight's The Descendants was named best picture of the year at the International Press Academy's 16th annual Satellite Awards, which were held Sunday evening at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

But the neon-lit thriller Drive, from FilmDistrict, took home the most movie trophies, with best directing, honors going to Nicolas Winding Refn; best actor and supporting actor, going to Ryan Gosling and Albert Brooks; and best sound editing.

In addition to its best picture win, Descendants earned a trophy for best adapted screenplay, which went to Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash.
Viola Davis was named best actress for The Help, while Jessica Chastain was singled out as best supporting actress for her performance in The Tree of Life, which also earned best original screenplay honors for Terrence Malick.

The critics group also handed out ten television awards and nine awards in new media. Justified was named best TV drama series and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia was named best TV comedy series.
Mitzi Gaynor, Douglas Trumbull, Peter Bogdanovich, Carl Reiner and the late Tim Hetherington were all recognized with special awards.

No George and no Ryan. I bet that stung. It looks like an old folks convention I didn't even know who a couple of them were. I wonder if George already knew he wouldn't win so he just didn't bother. Still Stacy would have loved another outing so she could wear a long dress!

Normally with our crack investigators, if there are pics out there, they're found and posted. I appreciate all who find these and post for us who are internet impaired (mememememememe!!!!). So, if they don't find any pics for events, etc., I believe that we can assume George wasn't in attendance.

An award event is a lot different to George walking through an airport. It isn't in the award shows best interest not to have pictures of George if he was there. There are pictures of that night and it seems sort of more a d list event anyway. If George was there we would know it by now! You don't think Stacy wouldn't make certain of that? So no I don't believe George was there.
