George Clooney and his wife Amal were spotted touching down in the south of France aboard their private jet with close pals Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber on Friday.
The actor, 61, cut a casual figure as he exited the plane before heading to the Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat in a waiting car, accompanied by the human rights barrister, 44, who sported a stylish fuchsia pink dress for the outing.
It comes following reports that George and Amal were reportedly set to splash out £6.8million (€7.9million) on a sprawling 425-acre estate in the south of France, which is just a stone's throw from a property owned by fellow Hollywood star Brad Pitt.

Amal cut a sophisticated figure in a stylish one-shouldered fuchsia pink dress which she teamed with a tan braided belt and a matching handbag.


Meanwhile former model Cindy, 56, sported a chic cream blouse and olive green slacks, and accessorised with nude heels as she exited the jet and headed to a waiting car.

Joined by Cindy's husband Rande, the group were seen jumping into the car parked on the runway and driving to the swanky hotel.

George and Rande have been friends for more than 30 years and founded the tequila company after doing extensive research, about 700 samples worth, according to the former bar owner. 
The pair were making about a thousand bottles for themselves and friends, when a distiller told them they needed a license to continue, and thus the company was officially founded with another partner in 2013.
The company sold for $700 million in 2017, but the friends still remain part of the operations.

The stunning historic house is also thought to be just a stones throw from George's fellow Hollywood star and Oceans' co-star Brad Pitt's Château Miraval in Correns, meaning the pals would be neighbours while in Europe.
Set on 425 acres (172 hectares) the 18th century main house is thought to be spread out over three stories to provide ample space and have been remodelled in the 1990s by architect Bruno Lafourcade, reports Dirt.

The stunning mansion is also surrounded by perfectly landscaped gardens as well as a smaller house for a caretaker and private olive grove.
While the interior of the home features lots of spacious rooms to relax in, including a large sitting area complete with a built-in bookcase and several sofas, as well as multiple bedrooms and a good-sized kitchen. 
The Clooneys would also have lots of room to entertain while enjoying the sweeping views as the picturesque house comes with ample outside seating dotted around the property.

Off they go! After exiting their jet the group were driven to the Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat, which is part of the Four Seasons chain and boasts suites starting at £2,741 per night
The mayor of Brignoles Didier Brémond appeared to confirm that the Clooneys were moving in when he recently addressed the chatter in the French press.
He told France Bleu: 'George Clooney came above all to seek tranquility and not necessarily a large wine estate. He bought this property to come and rest.'
It is thought that George and Amal are purchasing the spacious estate from an Australian couple.
However there were reports in the French press that the estate has already been sold to a local investor for six million euros - although no contracts have been signed, according to Var Martin.
MailOnline contacted George Clooney's representatives for further comment at the time.

Good point,Pigpen (tho the article is misleading of course). This was last Thursday or Friday. Very unlikely to have missed their birthday yesterday I imagine

I can't believe they'd miss the twins' birthday just to hang out with Cindy and Rande in France - unless maybe this was a business trip - maybe something to do with buying that property. Maybe it became available again. Even so, they must have gone back in time to celebrate with the kids.

I thought they bought this property back in May? I distinctly remember a photo of George and Amal with the town mayor!

Wasn't there something about someone else having a prior bid on the property? I had the feeling G&A's offer didn't go through, but I could be wrong. I'm too lazy to go back and check it out.

PAN - Are you sure the deal has gone through? The Mail  makes it sound like it's still pending.

Nice is nice and has some lovely restaurants, but nothing beats a pain bagnat. I'd rather that instead of a fancy-food meal.

PAN - I guess you were right. So this makes....six? "homes". Eight if they still have a place in Mexico and they're really buying in to the Portugal property.

 I know it's his money and he'd rather buy land than stocks, but there are so many people struggling to keep a roof over their heads this strikes as a little tone deaf and elitist. Most of his other properties make sense. This just seems over the top. Sorry, just my HO.

Liizzy, I don't think the Cabo house is on the list anymore (unless he's kept it for 'The Boys' to    holiday in!), the Portugese one was speculation by the local rag because Meldman has bought    land to develop.

  The NYC one is an investment I think but is very near the UN. Could also be useful for family 
  members.

  Remember that Amal speaks fluent French, there's a vineyard - and it is very very pretty! I'm    willing to bet that the Gerbers were there to look around it....I wonder if the boys toured that 
  area on their bikes - oh, and Bono's not far away!

PAN - Brad Pitt's estate isn't too far away either (unless he loses it in his settlement with Angelina). I think the NY apartment is as much for Amal to use when she's working here as it is an investment.

As far as the Cabo house is concerned, weren't he and Rande supposed to be building homes further up the coast after they sold their adjoining properties? I vaguely remember something about a famous architect designing the places for them.

It's all too confusing. I have enough trouble taking care of my one little flat. Six or more homes are just too much to worry about.

I think I posted a few months ago that Rande and Cindy had a new home built in Mexico.  Cindy was interviewed by Architectural Digest and spoke about how they waited a few years before starting to build their new home. There was no mention of George having a new home there.  I really don’t think George rebuilt in Mexico.

It was said In a tab they were going to build in Mexico but I don't think they ever did.

We have never seen them there again only cindy and Rande with their family have been seen there.

As for the New York apartment it if probably an investment, when Amal and her mother were here
they stayed in a hotel they could have simply stayed there .

So, what? The NY apartment is an AirB&B? Or does it sit empty? Considering how hard it is to find housing here, that would be unconscionable. I swear, George is going to turn me into a socialist!

As far as Mexico is concerned, I thought they were both building new homes but I guess I was wrong. I'm sure G&A and the kids can always stay with the Gerbers if they want to go to Cabo.

Lizzy, I get what you're saying, but it wouldn't surprise me to learn that many of Amal's clients would need a very secure place to stay while they are in the US and the apartment is as safe as anywhere can possibly be - drive in entrance etc.

I also wonder if George has a semi-permanent place in the Carlyle, tho Amal and her mother were in The Mark I think - bear in mind this might have been her mother's choice. Neither are too shabby if you want some paps outside to promote your cause!

PAN - I hope you're right about the NY apartment being used by Amal's clients. It does make sense that the apartment would be more secure and pap-proof than a hotel.

As far as the Carlyle goes, it seemed to be George's go-to before he got married but I don't recall him staying there much since. Maybe Amal didn't like it.

George may be looking ahead. Climate change may hit this place later and less intensely than his Italian estate.

And maybe it came down to a choice between buying in France or building in Mexico.

Way2Old - I have no idea why they're buying in France. Maybe he needs to get rid of some of his money. I don't think the Mexico thing ever happened. It hasn't popped up in a long time - since around the time that he and the Gerbers sold their places in Cabo.

Oh, I was saying that maybe they bought in France instead of building in Mexico, like choosing not to do both.
