The highlight of your week

Melbert, you've given me so much joy and laughter! I'm glad you get joy from some of us, too!

Not so much a highlight for me as an ouch-light! On Friday I was taking a journalist around a partial construction site to see new villas that one of the hotels I work for is constructing.

We had to edge our way across scaffolding on rickety wooden planks and as I set foot on one, wobbly, totally unsecured plank, the plank twisted under my foot I fell off, sideways.

Luckily I didn't fall through the scaffolding, but landed on by rib cage on the layer of scaffolding below, got up, dusted myself down and carried on with the tour. That evening I had dinner with one of our company's vice presidents so didn't get home till 1am and went straight to bed. Had to work on Saturday so didn't have time to look at my bruises until Saturday evening (yesterday) and wowee!

I have a straight line of vicious black bruises across my right hip and again across my ribcage. I've just realised how incredibly lucky I was, not only that I didn't fall through but also that I didn't smash a couple of ribs when I landed with all my weight on my side.

Wow, Katie… That sounds like it hurt! You’re a trooper for not letting it bother you at the time… Sounds like something I’d do…

… A huge fall and after I get up and brush myself off I say, “I’m fine. It didn’t hurt.” While everyone is looking at me in disbelief!

So glad to hear you’re okay, Katie! Don’t know what to tell you about the bruises… except they will go away, eventually!

Ouch, Katie. Glad to hear you didn't get hurt any worse. Hopefully those bruises will heal quickly.

The Man Upstairs was certainly watching over you. Take a nice relaxing warm bath to soothe those aches and for heavens sake, don't look at your side for at least a month. The changing colors can be very disconcerting.

LOL, tell me about it! I'm doing my very own version of autumn leaves changing colour. I had no idea skin could go all these different shades!

When I wrote it, I did think of autumn colors, but the shades of bruises, while as varied, are never, in any way, as beautiful as the leaves of autumn. Be well.

hope u feel better soon katie and every one else too , i can understand what u feel because yesterday i fall on a wooden chair in our living room and i have an awful cut and bruise down my left knee but we are tough girls nothing take us down

Epsom salt baths, also aches and pains bath oil, you were very lucky you didn't break a rib or anything else, get some rest, and take care Katie!

Atalante, that was just down right mean! That girl didn't even have a laptop, just her tutu.

my highlight of the week is that am going after two days for a whole day with my boyfriend in a trip , just me and him , am so excited!

Have a great time. My highlight this week hasn't exactly been a good one this week. Mind you it's only Tuesday but my favourite butcher has closed down. Do you know how hard it is too get good meat that is priced reasonably? A car crashed through his wall and the people who own the building used it as an excuse to get him out. So he has decided to quit being a butcher altogether. So now it's back to trying to find another good butcher! Great news for Dexter however it means while I try to find a good butcher and am testing meat he get's to eat what I don't like. He could end up really big, I am very fussy!

Got a couple of highs this week, a new puppy(like I need another dog) this one is tiny, a little girl, 4 months, maybe poodle and terrier mix, has two toned hair that looks like Crulla DeVill from 101 dalmations. Daughter adopted her, but mean evil roommate wouldn't let her keep her, so mom's got dog #4. She's sweet but I've forgotten what it's like having a puppy around.
Second highlight 90 days on diet and have lost 60lbs.,it's a good thing I'am old enough not to care about my breast anymore because I'm wearing a bra 24-7 just to keep these puppies up!!!

Aaah I love puppies. They have a way of brightening up your day. My gf has a 'teacup' Yorkie whose name is Bryn. Bryn is the main reason I visit gf, but don't tell her that. She's about the size of a baby doll. Never stops running, put her down and she runs like a wind up toy.

And I completely understand the breast deflation. Been there.

Congrats on the weight loss. Maybe after you're finished losing, you can do some breast exercises to give your puppies some muscle tone.

Have fun with the new puppie. How does she get along with the other 3. You should make daughter come and share the burden of training.

Woohoo, Lucy! Go you! i need to get back on the diet bandwagon. I have made myself a promise that I'm getting the 'girls' a reduction when I lose the rest of this weight. I'm down 32lbs and still busting out of my 38DDD bra & I want to prove to them that it wasn't the weight gain that caused it so we can convince the insurance to pay. Hell, I wore a C cup by the time I was in 7-8th grade.

I would be lost with a puppy. Our Boxer is almost 12 so it's been a while since I've gone through the puppy stage.

Highlight of my week so far is finally going to lunch with a friend. We've been planning it for weeks and something keeps coming up for one or the other of us. We talk via phone, email, and Facebook but haven't actually been able to have a sit down conversation since back in the spring. We have a few months worth of gossip to catch up on. LOL

MGK, have a wonderful gabfest. Order cold food, like a salad, otherwise your food will get cold on you. Hope you are making it an early lunch, so you have more time to talk before you have to get home for your kiddo. And keep that weight loss going.

pattygirl, all the exercise in the world couldn't lift these breast.Maybe if I win the lotto I could get a breast reduction and lift, that would be the only thing to move mine upward again.
The girls have mixed feelings about their new little sis, most of the time they are tolerant and even playful, then there are times they grow tired of her puppy ways.

Thanks Atalante, never really got facebook guess you just can't get an old dog to learn all the new tricks. But this time seems as if something good is coming out of it.

Puppies!! I love 'em! I just convinced my husband to get a rottweiler next year. SO excited!

Atalante, having 3 kids that were teenagers all at the same time, my experience with my space and later face book, was that of young people putting information, photos, etc. that IMO wasn't always good life choices. Then the bullying by peers over the my space-face book has left me not wanting to try. Although recently I have been following my nephew & nieces face book, they live in Mexico so it's a good way to stay up on their lives.

That's what I use Facebook for. I don't have any friends on FB that I have not met in real life. I keep in touch with them and ignore the rest of the garbage.
