The highlight of your week Empty The highlight of your week

Post by Guest Fri 05 Aug 2011, 18:22

Hi everyone!

We are always chatting about many things other than George. So, I thought It would be nice to share the highlight(s) of our week(s) with each other and to make us appreciate moments in our lives that make us feel good!

So, feel free to share if you want.

I will start with my highlights. sunny

This week is not over, but I can tell you that I have three great moments:
#1: I was walking from work to USPS during lunch break and I passed by a school where children where playing with a ball Basketball . The ball went outside the gate and was rolling on the road. When I noticed it was rolling in my direction, I made sign so the cars would stop, picked up the ball and gave back to them. Each one of them thanked me, I felt like I "save their day" queen just for giving the ball back. It made me realize how I missed teaching children! I love you Give Flowers

#2: I did really well on my acting class (according with my colleagues and instructor), which means I am becoming less shy and expressing myself better! cheers

#3: Last night, I went to the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) here in Boston with my roommates (yes, I do have roommates!) and their friends to see Chihuly exhibition (glass sculptures). It was just magical, what a great artist! If he goes to your city, don't miss it!!! Thumbs up!

Number 1. Been on a diet , as of today I've lost 18lbs.
2. Watching my dogs play in the sprinklers while watering my
lawn. They are like children, except you can go out and
leave them home alone.
3. So far this week only 1 brown out lasting 3 hrs.

Oh, Lou, you are so lucky to be living in Boston. Love that city, my 2nd favorite (NYC being 1st). There's so much to see and do, so many great restaurants. Love riding the Beantown Trolley to get where I want to go. Stayed there twice while on Coast Guard duty, 2 weeks each time. Lucky, lucky girl.

Now that I finished commenting, I'll add my two cents.

1. Got through my "procedure" (an endoscopic ultrasound) okay. Hardest part was no food for 12 hrs., no drink for 8 hrs. Since it was scheduled for 3 pm, I really went longer than that. Didn't go in till after 4 pm. Knocked me out, took care of business and I was up again by 5:15. Hardest on my daughter. She had her 2 boys with her and they really were in a scoochy mood. Fought constantly. Took them out to eat after - they were starving. Fought through the entire meal. Oh well.

Week's not over yet, so hopefully the best is yet to come.

Contests on the weight loss Lucy! Smile

Between the a/c issues and being sick, my week has been crappy but there have been bright spots too. My 8th old made a card for my birthday and gave me a #1 Mom keychain that she bought with her own money (big shocker) and got me a brownie cheesecake too. So I think all that balanced out the crappy parts. Lol

Kids are the best thing, especially when you need some cuddling. It does make the blahs go away. Girls are especially loving.

Just remember, Louis, if you do change your mind, no guarantee you'll have a girl.

Sarah ali, congratulation's there comes a time when you just need to quit wasting your life with relationships going nowhere and get on with your life. Wish my daughter would do the same, she's got a boyfriend(nice guy) but he can't seem to make up his mind on how he feels about her. Which pisses me off, to me it's like saying "your ok until I meet the right one" my daughter deserves better than your OK!

Congrats Sarah! The right man just moved forward a step in your life!

My highpoint will be tomorrow when the boyfriend comes back from a trip to Dubai. Apparently I can expect an iPhone in a pink case because (and I quote) "you're a chick".

Aussie women on this board I really need your advice: how the hell do you get your men to be even a teensy weensy little bit romantic? Please, I need help!

Yes, Katie, and you can hear all the songs that remind you of him!

My highlights of the week:
One of my officemates, who I don't care much for, got one of the jobs that I was vying for - bitch! But, on the other hand, she'll be GONE from here so we don't have to deal with her anymore!!!

Then, another woman in our office went semi-postal! I say semi, as she didn't have a gun or anything. She just started throwing things around and screaming "you're a liar - you're a liar - why are you saying I'm a liar - you're a liar". And, there was no one talking to her at the time. She was escorted away by the cops and then tendered her resignation.

Other than that...

and NO, stupidvisor was NOT a typo. Most of my supervisors are STUPIDVISORS!!!! I wasn't yelling, just jamming the point home!

MGK, I would rather not say where I work in this now huge Open House, but no, it is not a bank. It's just unbeliveable the amount of shit that goes on in what is supposed to be a professional office setting.

I agree, LL. Sometimes we need to step back and find things to be thankful for.

The highlight of my week was spending time with hubby (alone) and I also heard from 2 friends that I haven't seen in a while.

Know what you mean cindi. Love going places (to see the kids, or on vacation) but when I come back over the bridge (doesn't matter which one as we have 4, 3 from NJ and 1 from Brooklyn) there's that feeling of I'm almost there. The key turning in the lock means I made it and I'm at peace again.

Thanks patty for understanding. My daughter kept asking me what I could do at home and not there. Well, actually nothing, it's just that it isn't "home."

And the avator, if that doesn't grab his attention nothing will. After all at the moment he does like blondes. LOL

I agree. There's no place like home. As much as I hate the traffic and tourists, when I see the mountains off in the distance, I know I'm home.

Now for the highlights of my week. You all know about surprise visit from my son, well believe me that was the highlight of the week. It was short but very happy. It's hard when not all your kids live close. Phone calls are just not enough. Plane fares are so high it makes it very difficult. Going to NM end of month for granddaughter's wedding. Definitely cuts into wedding gift.
