Amal will be heading back to work soon
As usual, I've no idea if that's just a rumor, but:

Looks like Amal Clooney will be heading back to work soon!
George Clooney and his wife have been enjoying the first few months of parenthood after Amal gave birth to their twins, Alexander and Ella, in June.
Now, E! News can confirm the human rights attorney is getting ready to get back in the office.
"Amal Clooney is heading back to work this week," a source told us, noting she will be attending a meeting, which marks her first work engagement since giving birth. Still, we're told she plans to "go back slowly."
Another source explained that it's a bittersweet time for Amal.
"She has mixed emotions about going back," the source said. "She has loved every minute of the summer with the twins and will miss them immensely, but she is also is looking forward to resuming her career work and getting back to it."
And George is obviously right by her side through it all.
"George is very supportive of everything she does and knows she is passionate about her work," the insider said. "He is excited for her and knows she will be able to find the right balance between being a mom and a working professional."
Speaking of returning to work, George and Amal took their 3-month-old twins to Venice—where they got married in 2014—to attend the 2017 Venice Film Festival, during which the 56-year-old actor premiered his new film Suburbicon.
The trip comes after a fun summer for the new parents, spending all the time they can with their little ones.
"Amal is not working, and they both have the summer off and are enjoying Lake Como," an insider told us in July. "They are very happy to be in Italy."
The source added, "Everything is going great with the babies. [George and Amal] are happier than they have ever been and really enjoying being parents...They are truly in love and just want to be with the babies and not do much else."

Re: Amal will be heading back to work soon
That makes George the stay at home dad
If the story is true I would think she would still be working from home to some extent. But it does change her mindset.

I'm not sure I believe this. Has someone put one meeting, probably at her offices at home, and the fact that the babies are three months as an assumption that she's back to work fulltime?
Unless the meeting is in Augusta or Toronto I'm not really convinced. She doesn't have a mortgage on a house to pay back after all! Of course it's possible that they're back in London or maybe NYC next week

Since George is doing the telethon they could be anywhere. she can work where ever they are . One meeting doesn't mean she will be full on in work.

Re: Amal will be heading back to work soon
When the birth was first announced, I think they said she was taking six months off, and even then it was going to be a lot of working from her home office. Obviously, things can change; some people really aren't designed to give up working full time for any extended period. It's funny that old workaholic George is the one who seems happiest to say he might not go back to work for a good long while.
As an aside, three months (unpaid) is about what we get here in the US for maternity leave, if you get anything at all. I'd think Amal would be more accustomed to (I assume) the more generous policy of the UK.

Re: Amal will be heading back to work soon
Yep, that's why I wondered where this 'story' came from, Missa.
She is self employed so has no maternity contract as such.......it's entirely up to her how much work she takes on, tho obviously she will want to be involved and I'm sure is still passionate about some of her cases and causes.
Most people in the UK will have up to a year's maternity leave, depending on their contract with their employers and this often includes people like teachers who may or may not plan their pregnancies so that they have extra time with their babies over summer holidays.
Since everybody who works contributes to the NHS from their salary they are often entitled to monthly payments but obviously not as much as if they were at work fulltime...

Re: Amal will be heading back to work soon
Maybe Annemarie. So much of Amal's work is done behind the scenes. She can easily work from home and go out to meetings when necessary. I would assume some of the lawyers who have worked with her on her current cases have been picking up her caseload since she hasn't been working? We probably won't know when she actually starts back to work.

Re: Amal will be heading back to work soon
She's self-employed in effect and while I think she probably is doing some work already, I doubt she'll be going back to full time work any time in the next five years. Much of her job can be done from home anyway so there'll be no way of knowing how much she's working.

Amal Clooney Isn’t Thinking About Working Full-Time Yet
“It used to be my barf but now it’s the twins’ barf,” he joked to the Associated Press August 29. “So it all works out.” He’s also mastered diaper changes, but the Suburbicon director admitted there’s one part of fatherhood that scares him. “Suddenly you’re responsible for other people,” he says, “which is terrifying.”

But both he and Amal, 39, have risen to the occasion. Spending the summer at their villa on Italy’s Lake Como “has been the perfect respite as they come to grips with parenthood,” a source close to the duo reveals exclusively in the new issue of Us Weekly. “It’s their absolute favorite place and it’s been an amazing opportunity to spend the summer there with the twins.”
And since Amal’s journalist mom, Baria Alamuddin, spent a month pitching in, the pair “haven’t hired a full-time nanny,” says the source. That’s unlikely to change with they return to their newly renovated nine-bedroom manor in Oxfordshire, England this month.

Despite being involved in a few cases, the human rights lawyer — who has advised former U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan and represented WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange — won’t work full-time until 2018, says the source. “I don’t think Amal has ever known how to slow down, but as soon as she had the babies everything made sense,” explains the source. “She’s really not been thinking about anything other than her precious two. She’s taken to motherhood perfectly.”
