George and Amal Clooney, Paul McCartney, and Meryl Streep were among the celebrities who trekked to Washington, D.C., on Friday for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama’s farewell celebration at the White House.
They were among those spotted arriving at the White House for the late-evening event, along with Gloria Estefan, Magic Johnson, Anna Wintour, Bradley Cooper, Harvey Weinstein, Lorne Michaels, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Kelly Rowland, Tracee Ellis Ross, David Letterman, Gloria Estefan, Tyler Perry, Robert De Niro, Jon Hamm, Ken Burns, Stevie Wonder, Al Roker, Chris Rock, and Lena Dunham. Photos of the arrivals were posted on social media by reporters, including CNN’s Betsy Klein, staked out near the White House entrance.
Many of the Obamas’ friends who attended were donors and supporters throughout their White House years and two presidential campaigns.

The party followed Michelle Obama’s final speech, which she delivered in the East Room earlier on Friday to commemorate the 2017 School Counselor of the Year. President Obama is scheduled to deliver a farewell address in Chicago on Tuesday.
The presence of so many celebrities may contrast to the turnout for Donald Trump’s inauguration. His team has been trying to line up talent to perform at his inauguration festivities later this month. Performers like Elton John and Garth Brooks have declined.
The party went on until 4 a.m., with chicken and waffles served to the early morning attendees.

It was freezing here last night. TMZ showed Chrissy Teigen walking in with hubby John Legend wearing a strapless number. No coat!

No, you didn't, but I think the report I've posted now is a new edition - and I also think they've got it completely mixed up with the last big event in a few days time becos they mention Beyonce etc. In fact it was her sister this time I think.

I also have a feeling they have not mentioned any recent stories because they probably don't want to get castigated by George again - and there may even be a new news editor. It certainly seems to be even more attached to click bait kartrashian type non-news stories than ever before. I've never heard of half the people from reality shows (or non reality!) both sides of the pond.......

I find it very peculiar that the DailyFail didn't mention George and Amal being at the party. Every other media site who reported on the White House shindig stated they were there. Almost seems intentional. The DF goes out of their way to cover George at every turn. They mentioned loads of other famous celebrities . So unless it was strictly an oversight I think it's quite odd.

There were a number of celebrities who didn't get photographed but were there according to reports .... Bradley Cooper, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rita Wilson.

George and Obama are friends, so I think George would want to be there if at all possible - with or without his other half. Most of the people there weren't photographed - doesn't mean they weren't there.

There or not, I think they're ignoring the whole media kerfuffle. Why say anything? We'll find out soon enough if she's pregnant. (Just a thought: She's no chicken (38yrs) and is extremely thin. Wouldn't surprise me if doctors told her any pregnancy would be risky and she'd have to be extra careful to carry to term.)

True Lizzy this was a private party no pictures were released by the white house. I think George as a friend would respect that and treat this as an event for friends Not a public event for himself.
There were many more people there and we haven't seen them.
As for Amal being pregnant time will tell if she is or isn't. If she is I wish them a healthy pregnancy and baby.
Amal turns 39 in February so she they be ready for children.

We hadn't known that they were invited at Buckingham Palace just before Christmas 2015, if not Pierce Brosnan and his wife had posted pics of them which included George and Amal.
So the only pics we saw (at least up to now) were the ones before they entered the White House (and they were really blurry and dark) and a few selfies. But there you have some influence if you're photographed or not.
