That's quite interesting then to be back in Italy just before going to Darfur. It would make sense that if Gee went to the wedding, that he and John would go together from USA, so why go back to Como? Also, does this mean he will fly direct from Italy to Darfur? Just trying to gage his thought process!!

Maybe John took a few days before Dafur, to have a honeymoon with his bride and George didn't get an invite!

Interesting that they are not pap friendly this year when last year they were thrilled with the attention. Last year, the pap boats got close to them to get their shots which they happily posed for and let them get "candids" without anyone getting pissy at the paps for being there (especially with all the flash photography after dark to get clear shots). Now this year, they are scowling, unhappy people who are flipping off the paps. You can't famewhore one year then the next year get aggro and abusive (I bet from that picture Gio gave them a mouthful of abuse) that they paps are there "invading your privacy" when you did nothing but encouraged it last year. How about a bit of consistency? Or will they just blame all the famewhoring from last year on Betty?

I thought he would turn up in the Sudan as the first new pictures of him post split.

@watching, thats what I was thinking while looking at the pics,the boys sure do get protective after a break up. Were are they on all the pap DATES?

In the next to the last photo does anyone know who the asshole is who is giving the paps the finger? Nice.

Suppose the good thing this year is they didn't overload the boat this time. And it seems there was no wayward off course fire cracker threatening them this year because they were too close to the action.

@watching: I am with you on that... If they are with George doing this to the paps, why didn't they do that before? hmmm... odd!

I know the Italian paps can be really aggressive (unlike the UK paps), but I wonder what the problem is this year. I notice George had his back turned when Ben was flipping the bird, maybe he didn't notice. I doubt he is so heartbroken over the split that he didn't want any pics taken. Maybe old Ben was just having a bad day.

In my part of the world flipping the bird is reserved for inconsiderate drivers on the road.

Actually, on second look George doesn't look too happy here. It's not like him to just "stand there" with his back to everyone. It's not like him to just stand around period. He's usually running around making sure everything's OK. Maybe he told the boys to react like that! OK, we get it George, no free pictures.

I'm not sure he's just standing there. It looks like they are pulling up to or trying to leave a dock of some sort. I think the paps just caught them at a time when he needed to be steering the boat.
I'm not crazy about Ben's behavior either. I don't think snapping pictures should deserve that reaction, but who knows what the paps might be yelling at George...questions about Eli maybe.

KNowing now that the paps there are more agressive, I bet they were saying some harsh stuff to get a stupid reaction from George. It seems that people in Italy got really offended that he did not propose to Eli,

In terms of dating someone, I honestly hope he eventually finds someone who makes him happy, but what's the deal of dating one person after another? Some people hate to be alone, even if they don't seem to have any desire for a 'forever' relationship. I personally don't get it either.

One of the strange behavior of George, is not it? It has been closed for two weeks in the house without leaving it 'boat it' in motion, strange for a man who has finally released a girlfriend when he was sick. I'm missing something

15 days quietly at home, tucked away in the boat to the 4th of July, the strange behavior with the paparazzi, a few friends. Last year the boat was full and left photographed in intimate attitudes. It seems the attitude of an unhappy man not satisfied with the end of his report.

No, not the behavior of Ely seems normal to me, I posted a link where you vedecenare in the company of a man who is not Angel Life, if ever we will not know the truth but it's all strange. Ely in twelve years has had only three boyfriends, all the others were invented by gossip.Ora shortly after the break we see the attitudes intimate restaurant with a man and a few hours after the rupture occurs Desquared parade, apparently without problems , four days before George was sending 60 text messages a day and in her 'interview with him said he was feeling good and that they never get bored. Everything seems strange because she's smart but not stupid, I do not think that interview was never released if things went wrong between them.

Lelacorb, if you remember last year was a whole lot different in that Ben was getting married, John/Emily wedding, all those celebrities and friends and family all arriving around this time. This year - official breakup, doing editing for Ides, preparing for Sudan, preparing for VFF. Maybe more indoor things right now. I don't find it strange at all. He'll come out when he's ready. I'm sure he's got the itch to get on the bike and/or go out for a real boat ride. We'll see him soon.

Yep, Lucy got it. George is steering the boat. The man standing up is too tall and lean to be George. Either it's Waldo, or it's not Waldo. LOL. But George is definitely the one behind the wheel.

Yes, you are. As Melbert mentioned, he is editing the Ides of March that wil be ready for the first day at Venice Festival in August, editing takes a long time and attention to many details. A bad editing can ruin a movie and he wants to make sure is a great movie because is his baby he wrote, directed and acted. Everyone is expecting great art from this movie, Oscar worthy kind of movie. ON top of that, there is Sudan.

He never flaunted his ass, crotch or biceps for attention... I am sure when award season ends he will be way more relaxed.

Lela, I do understand you are very disappointed with the end of this so called fairytale, they were not all happy. I can only remember George laughing in th every beginning of this relationship and that was it. What I could never understand why it took soooo long for them to end it.

If you have followed his career, he never ever commented in his personal life unless asked too many times about it and he said very little... For me his behavior is not strange at all, it's very consistent throughout 17 years. Can you say the same about Eli?

The girl with her hair down and dark jacket is Ben's wife. Looks like Waldo so the other girl could be his wife. This is normal for George and it is better then Eli popping up with a new guy already after her heart is supposed to have been so broken. We normally see pictures of George with the boys after a breakup. They are very protective off him so the hand sign is no huge shock from Ben. I have seen Thom Matthews do similar in previous years. This year the press didn't get invited without Eli around they aren't getting the tips like they were. George also went to the States for his friends wedding, plus he has editing to do so no big surprise he hasn't been seen out and about. He is going to Darfur soon so he will get ready for that. We will see pictures of him biking etc but nothing like last year! I doubt he is unhappy about Eli being gone he was unhappy when he was with her now it would be relief! She doesn't look unhappy either she seems to have moved on quite well.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say he did his Director's Cut already before going to Italy. Anyone remember when he finished filming and would that be enough time? I'm guessing this because, I would think as a Producer, Grant would be in Italy by now. Though I could be wrong, LOL, and Grant/George work on it after Sudan. Unless, the composer is putting together the music and George will finish after the Sudan. Besides music, isn't there sound effects and other stuff that needs to be added that isn't there while filming? Okay, thinking out loud again, but why waste time with music and sound effects now on sections that George will want to cut?

Sandwiches: I don't know about Italy, but here in US they do. If you ever live in NYC or nearby, you will see tones of parades celebrating holidays/ cultural aspects from other countries (Feast of San Gennaro, Brazilian day, Israeli day parade, Korean Harvest Day Parade, Greek Independence Day Parade, etc). Well, it's not because I am living in the USA that I will forget the holidays in my home country. So, I guess George wanted to celebrate this historical day with his friends.

ps: I remembered a story that a friend of mine told me when she was in the navy. They were somewhere in Chile doing some training and, when the practice was over, the Navy officers from the Chilean boat stopped to congratulate USA for the independence day. She said everyone was really grateful that they remembered it and let them celebrate.
