I was also just thinking this morning, whilst looking at my Good German poster, that George is very canny in his casting.

At the time he cast GG Tobey was a hot commodity from his Spiderman film.  I was at the premiere and girls were screaming when he came in (no I wasn't an invited guest just one of the peons standing on the sidewalk trying to get a glimpse of George!).

Anyway, Tobey was the hot ticket then.

Now George picks Dujardin for his current project, he of course, being the most recent Best Actor Oscar winner.

For The Ides of March he picks Ryan Gosling, one of the hottest actors out there in addition to being one of the most talented actors out there.

His supporting cast is either peppered with long time friends, those who worked with him when he was starting out and whose kindnesses he's never forgotten or those who are talented up and coming newbies.  In a way, paying it forward.

So yea, George is in Como for the summer and I say good for him. He's earned all the perks that come with his career success.

Now if he could just transfer that good sense he uses when picking folks with whom he works on film with his picks of girlfriends...he truly would be the perfect guy!  Sigh!

Mh so maybe he is choosing the "hottest actors" to look even more hotter himself LOL I only see hot George in every movie

Sorry to be different but my George is perfect in every way. Because he is being true to himself. More than that would be doing things someone else's way which is not right for anyone.

I'm trying think right now. but he has a whole slew of projects in the works. I don't know in what order they will go and what one are finalized. There's:The Yanke Commadante, the one that is about the New York Crime Syndicate I don't know if they have a possible name yet. Then there is Coronado High, The Monster of Florence, 1937 Dodsworth, $700 Billion Man and the Art of the Steal. I think there are other ones also but I haven't written them down.

I don't know to what extent their (George & Grant) participation will be as far starring directing or whatever...

I hope he does not have anything to do with "50 Shades." I know people have related him to star, he is nothing like that. Maybe it is because I finally got the book and read to the first sexual encounter and was sick to my stomach. I could not read anymore. That's not love it is grotesque lust.

 

I'd be willing to bet that GC and Heslov are killing several birds with one stone, and not only having some down time, but also editing Monuments Men and starting pre-production on the next project as well. To that end, could be they have a director selected for whatever that project is, and this vampire guy is being offered a role; he and the director could be having some getting-to-know-you time.

Just a guess. They could be bringing in strippers and bike-riding clowns every day, for all I know.

 I think Ian is just visiting Europe, not necessarily visiting Clooney, but if he is, I am jealous. I want to hang with the Cloons!! LOL

Actually I think he is considering him for what I am thinking will be his next project. Coronada High. Ian is still young looking and might make a good drug dealer for the high school kids to trust. And Ian is a good choice period, for several, I think. Prolly is there, but George is working don't forget, so Ian may have to spend some time alone.

Heading over to laglio again tomorrow so will post any updates. There was a guy that came out the gate that I thought was rande but it could have been ian?!

Sorry I will try and pay more attention tomorrow, I am still a little bit in shock with seeing george on friday!!  Never want to leave lake como... tooooooooo good here x

Rande was in LA yesterday at the Ray Donovan premiere party so it definitely wasnt him.

George is so far from 50 Shades content: theme, plot, characterization, writing -- all of it. I seriously doubt he'd consider anything associated with it. Isn't it more Keibler's speed? Perhaps that's the connection - she landed a gig in/related to 50 shades and he's offering support?

Besides I read somewhere in an article back in 2011 about how George prefers not to date actresses. His reasons are tied up in spending time with each other. If both work hard and are always busy, they would get very little time with each other, and he considers a serious relations MUST have that close time to spend with each other or the relationship doesn't usually work out very well. He also said that actors and actresses can be very selfish about their own needs as an actor/actress and EXPECT the other to give in, almost every time. And he preferred that a relationship didn't deteriorate down to that. So he tries to stay away from the women (as far as serious relationship possibilities are) who may have a very active career. That seems to suggest he is looking for someone who won't have that demand in their life, and can devote more time to spending with him, travelling with him and such.

I don't remember much else about that article interview, but I think there was more on other things too. But it seems that question came up in regards to someone he had dated in the past who may have been an actress.

I've heard him say that about dating actresses too.  Funny, the girls he currently dates have active careers that keep them busy and away from him (as far as we know, he hasn't seen Stacy in person in four months), and he's been quoted as saying that that makes things easy for him.  Seems to me he doesn't want to date women who are going to challenge his position as the most famous, successful person in the couple. I think if you added "when he wants" to that last sentence of yours that I highlighted we would have the determining factor of who makes the girlfriend cut.

For the record, I don't think he and Sandra would ever date, but that's his loss. I think she's a rock star.

By the way, does anyone think George maybe back home in the states, editing his movie, and arriving in Como later this month. There has been no photo evidence of his whereabouts. I think the hollywood home would be a good way to hideaway completely.

It always seems in interviews that he really looks forward to and enjoys his time in Como. I'd think he'd want to spend as much time there as possible, since he's gotten a later than usual start to his summer vacation.

There is no telling where he is. He could be anywhere. I just hope he is happy and safe.

I find this really ironic. Think about it. He and Stacy have spent I would round up to minimal time together. I mean Come On, when both were in Europe recently, not even one shot of them together. I don't think that is a problem for him. I do remember him saying that in many cases, the women grow bored of him always putting his film work ahead of them. Still seems to be the case. His first love is his movie work.
Also, about actors and actresses being selfish. No disrespect to Stacy, Elisabetta or even Sarah Larson, but none of them seem to be the epitome of selflessness nor are they actors. Well maybe Elisabetta was. LOL I think that is an excuse for George (forgive me for saying this) thinking he should be the center of attention in his relationship. As much as I love Mr. Clooney, you would be an idiot to not think that he has a big ol' EGO, as most big stars do. You would have to be Mother Theresa to not have some type of an ego with everyone telling you how handsome and wonderful you are. I do believe he is friendly and tries to be down to earth, but he is also human. Love you George, but you are human and capable of selfishness.

He has remodeled one of the villas to accommodate a complete editing studio in Como for that very reason.  He wanted to be able to vacation in his favorite place and still be able to work.  And no pictures means absolutely nothing.  George can hide when it suits his purposes and when he's busy working, that is usually when we don't see much of him.

I agree. His relationship with the media and even the paparazzi is one of mutual understandings. You scratch my back. I scratch yours. Meaning, he knows how to play the game for his benefit. He knows how to hide and to be seen. He just loves keeping us in suspense.    

I agree about his relationship with media but there seems to be more of a diversion because of floating stories of the new studio in Italy--look at this & not what the other hand is doing.  

We won't know until George is ready. In the meantime, wishing him some good quality r&r.

With over 40 you are more mature, self confident. most of the time know what you want. How your life looks like.
 
When you in your 30's you are still open to try things out. Don't feel to settle too much. Jump around life and have million Ideas what to do in life.
 
Also you don't think so much about having a family then when you are 40 something. Sandra has a child don't think he wants that.
 
But yeah having said that. In my head I reached 28 years so I'm not an expert about 30's 0r 40's - not sure if I will every reach there LOL

Gigi, the editing studio isn't especially new. He's edited other films there, I believe.....

I 'm not sure of the newness of studio but just wondering about stories discussing that  particular location as a diversion . There no certainty of George's location.
