Tina Fey:

George Clooney married Amal Alamuddin this year.

Amal is a human rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case, was an adviser to Kofi Annan regarding Syria and was selected for a three person UN commission investigating rules of war violations in the Gaza strip.

It's their first appearance together at a major awards show.
And George and Amal Clooney were the epitome of Hollywood glamour as the couple walked the red carpet at the Golden Globes on Sunday.
Amal, 36, stunned in a black custom Dior gown with cross-shoulder train and elbow-length gloves, in a look reminiscent of screen legend Audrey Hepburn.

The human rights lawyer, who married 53-year-old George in September, accessorised with diamond drop earrings and a chic white clutch on which she pinned a 'Je Suis Charlie' badge.
Amal's couture gown was fitted at the waist and featured ruching on the skirt which flowed diagonally across her bust into a shoulder strap and elegant train.
Her dark chestnut locks were styled in a deep side parting with some soft waves through the ends.

It's a big night for Oceans Eleven star George as he will be presented the Cecil B. DeMille Award by Julianna Margulies at the star-studded event, which rewards outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment.
But once inside the venue the actor found himself the subject of one of hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's many jokes.
Fey took aim at the actor for the second year in a row, saying that Amal was a 'human rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case,

George & Amal Clooney Speak Out Against Paris Terrorist Attacks at 2015 Golden Globes

George Clooney is using the Golden Globes as a platform to speak out against the deadly terrorist attacks in Paris that have taken the lives of a dozen people.
George, who is receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award during Sunday’s telecast, and his wife Amal Clooney stopped by ET on the Globes red carpet to discuss the special lapel pins they’re wearing to honor the victims of the attacks.

“We weren’t in Europe or France, but this was a moment in time when millions of people from every different religion locked arms and said we’re not going to be ruled in fear,” George told ET’s Nancy O’Dell. “We both wanted to be in solidarity with it.”
George and Amal also talked about life as a married couple. “Well gee, I don’t know!” joked George, who was the ultimate gentleman helping his wife’s train on the ET stairs, when Nancy asked how life is different now that they’re newlyweds. “We’re very happy.” Added Amal, making her Golden Globe debut: “It’s wonderful.”

As for whether a mini Clooney was in the cards in the near future, George felt the heat: “Well aren’t you nice,” he joked to Nancy, with Amal exclaiming, “You’re worse than my mother!”
But what about the best perk about being married? George deadpanned, “Being able to say to my wife, ‘We gotta go!’”
Twelve people – ten journalists and two police officers – died on Jan. 7 after masked gunmen opened fire at the headquarters of French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, sparking outcry and questions over free speech.
George, in a Giorgio Armani tux, and Amal, in a black Dior gown and Harry Winston jewelry, weren’t the only ones shining a spotlight on the attacks. Other Golden Globe nominees took a moment to pay their respects, including Helen Mirren, who held up a Je Suis Charlie sign.

Leave it to George Clooney to adorn his tuxedo with a “Je Suis Charlie” button and pay tribute to the millions of people around the world who marched together in solidarity with the murdered cartoonists of Charlie Hebdo during his acceptance speech for the Golden Globes’ lifetime achievement award.
After some jokes about the Sony hack and his less-than-well-received film The Monuments Men, Clooney turned more serious.

“Just one last thing I would say is just to reiterate what we have all been talking about — today was an extraordinary day. There were millions of people that marched, not just in Paris but around the world. And they were Christians and Jews and Muslims. They were leaders of countries all over the world and they didn’t march in protest. They marched in support of the idea that we will not walk in fear. We won’t do it. So, ‘Je Suis Charlie.’ Thank you.”
