Caught out! Amal Clooney chats away during tribute to her husband George at the Golden Globes... but makes a swift recovery after realising she's on camera
Amal Clooney has learnt the hard way - in Hollywood, just like in the court room, you can never let your guard down.
The 36-year-old got sprung not paying attention as Julianna Margulies and Don Cheadle honoured her new husband George at the Golden Globes in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday evening.
As the actors said their rather long speech to present George with his Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award, the lawyer decided to have a little chat to her table mate Bill Murray not realising the camera was on her.

Eyes front: Amal Clooney got sprung not paying attention as George was honoured at the Golden Globes in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday evening
Looking away from the stage to face Bill, Amal suddenly became aware that all eyes were on her and quickly turned back on the charm smiling sweetly at the camera.
To the Hollywood newbie's credit, she did manage to also smile through the always stunning Julianna talking about kissing George during their time on E.R.
However, as soon as her husband of four months took the stage the human rights activist did not divert her gaze once.
And for her devotion, she was rewarded with a rare sentimental gushing by the 53-year-old.
Paying homage to his new wife he said: 'It's a humbling thing when you find someone you love.'
He added: 'Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together I couldn’t be more proud to be called your husband.'
He also defiantly spoke about the recent terrorist attack in Paris at the offices of the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo.

Blame Bill: Looking away from the stage to to chat with Bill Murray, Amal seemed rather unimpressed

Nice recovery: Suddenly becoming aware that all eyes were on her, the 36-year-old quickly turned back on the charm smiling sweetly at the camera
George said: 'We will not walk in fear.'
Both the actor and his wife wore badges saying 'Je Suis Charlie'.
The Gravity star was also full of jokes about himself and the recent Sony hacking.

All smiles: The couple laughed as they soaked up the celebratory atmosphere at the event
'As everyone's been hacked, it's always a great time to meet up and apologise for all the things we've said,' he told the A-list assembled guests.
He even went on to joke about his much derided movie, The Monuments Men, which was panned by critics.
'I've had a pretty good year myself,' the star said before his gushing words for Amal, adding: 'And I'm not just referring to the fabulous reviews of Monuments Men.'

Now watching in large tv I was sure as Amal is physically insignificant, has no presence. I also found it very simple dress, I expected more. George's speech was cool, but I think, "he pushed him" when he said he is proud to be married to Amal. As much as I try, I can not see the passion in this relationship, find it all very superficial.

I forgot to say, I also noticed Amal arrogance to look Giulianna Ransic, perhaps because Giulianna keeps saying that is crazy about George, probably, she must also despise his fans.

George Clooney Finds the Perfect Note on a Too Serious Night
In the past months, between scandals, cyber-attacks and fleeing audiences, show business often seemed to be collapsing at its foundations. And throughout a Golden Globes ceremony that was heavy on teary-eyed, heartfelt, earnestness, it seemed the fun and glamour of entertainment would disappear under the weight of it all.
Enter George Clooney to remind us what Hollywood, at its best, is about.
Still in his early 50’s, the actor seemed an odd choice to be taking home the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's lifetime achievement award, (as the hosts’ opening monologue pointed out) but taking the stage, he showed why he was the perfect pick.
Eschewing the teary flood of emotion that overwhelmed many who stepped forward tonight, Clooney was gracious yet funny, making fun of the awards game while still retaining a bit of humility.
Above all he was absolutely at ease, and even when acknowledging the tragedy in Paris, found the perfect note of support without turning the moment into a celebration of his own virtue.
That is what we once called glamour. And it was on its magic that Hollywood was built.

Re: George Clooney at the Golden Globes January 2015
some PDA?
1. Power Couple: After Clooney received the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement, he was back at his table, where he and his wife Amal Clooney engaged in some rare PDA. They stole a few kisses as Amal played with the back of her hubby's hair and stroked the side of his face with her other hand.

Re: George Clooney at the Golden Globes January 2015
Well, I think George, as he usually does, hit just the right notes. Honored by the occasion, but not taking himself too seriously. Keeping everything in perspective. Able to laugh at his shortcomings. Acknowledging his love for his new wife and appreciation for the "alchemy" that brought them together, but not gushing like a lovesick puppy. And paying tribute to what's going on in the world without preaching. Can't ask a guy to do any more than that.
My only quibble is that I don't like his hair in the slickened 'Hollywood idol' style. I think he looks better with close-cropped layers. But, hey, I'm not the one at the table with him, running my fingers through his locks.

Re: George Clooney at the Golden Globes January 2015
Yes thank you for all the videos and photos.
Much appreciated by me.
I thought they both looked great together and
Amal's white leather gloves added something
special to her total look IMO.
Having watched so many woman showing so much
"Bum & Tits" it was refreshing to see
some elegance when The Clooneys were interviewed.
I liked it that one of the first things Amal said was how proud she was for George receiving his award.

I also want to say how impressed with what George said last night. Many of us here feel he hit just the right note. Not too serious. From the heart. Sincere. He was speaking off the cuff and it seem very heartfelt. I especially liked it when he reminded everyone in the room that by being there they had grabbed the brass ring. They have made it. So even if they don't take home an award appreciate that you've made it. In particular his references to Lauren Bacall and Robin Williams. It's not how many awards you take home it is leaving a lasting impression of your work. I was so proud of George.

Yes DonnaMarie I liked his speech and his reminder that just to be nominated is a fine thing.
It's very true.
I also thought his reference to his wife
was heartfelt, lovely and honest.

i personally think they looked absolutely perfect together. Real old Hollywood glamour! Loved George's speech great mixture of humour and important messages. I also loved the fact that he seemed to get a bit tongue tied when talking about Amal made his sentiments seem genuine. Our boy is well and truly in love!!

Thanks everyone for posting the great pictures, videos and reports. I really appreciate it. Now I can take my time and enjoy reading and watching at my leisure so I haven't missed out at all! Thanks again.

That's great that Don and his family were at George's table. I agree, Rancic did a poor job with her opportunity to interview George and Amal. She seemed desperate. And she made a fool of herself. George always the gentleman handled it well.

I LOVE this one:
Julianna Margulies on George Clooney's Happiness: 'It's Everything You Want for a Friend'
"I have known him 21 years, and his smile has never been more genuine."
So sweet
And in this one she talks about Amal classy look
Sevens your video here was autostarting so I had to delete it. If you can find a version without autostart please repost. Thanks. Lorna

I have been watching photos, videos... almost all the day. Now I am waiting to some after party photos. I hope we get to see something.
I can be more proud of him !! I was already and I thought I couldn´t be more proud because he is in the top of my life, but after the speech, after how he showed his love to Amal in front of everybody and half of the world.... I am speechless.
I loved how Julianna looked at him when he was on stage, so proud of him !

Don't know if this has been posted yet, but George wore his wedding tuxedo last night:

George Clooney, Golden Globes
George Clooney is a sensible man.
So sensible, in fact, that he opted to recycle his wedding tuxedo to the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards!
The recipient of tonight's Cecil B. DeMille Award admitted backstage that he was wearing the exact same ensemble that he wore when he exchanged vows with Amal Clooney.
The A-lister also gushed about his new wife during his acceptance speech, saying, "It's a humbling thing to find someone you love. Even better if you've been waiting your whole life...Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn't be prouder to be your husband." Aw! That Mr. Clooney sure is charming when he's in love!
You may remember that Amal and George tied the knot in Venice in front of several famous friends and family back in late September of last year.
The two were legally married in a civil ceremony on the Monday after a whirlwind weekend of wedding celebrations in the same city.
"George and Amal could not have been happier," an eyewitness told E! News at the time of the big day. "They are clearly on top of the world and are just thrilled to be enjoying their wedding weekend."
Could these two be any cuter?! Probably not...

Sevens I've had to delete three videos you've posted.
They are autostarting at the same time when you get to this page and it's confusing as hell.
Please don't post videos with autostart.
Thanks.

Anyone have the video of ET? When Amal says: You are worst than my mother
Answering the question: When are the babies coming?
BTW. I want to keep all the interviews videos, but they are not on YT, so anybody have them?

Re: George Clooney at the Golden Globes January 2015
Hathaross the ET video was posted earlier on this thread. George always has a good rapport with Nancy. But funny what Amal said to Nancy. Clearly if George and Amal had definitely decided not to have children Amal's mother wouldn't be bugging her with questions about "when".

Re: George Clooney at the Golden Globes January 2015
I think as much as George appreciates the recognition he got on Sunday I bet he couldn't wait to hightail it out of there. The best part of the night was probably the afterparty celebrating with his wife and friends and a tequila in hand.

Re: George Clooney at the Golden Globes January 2015
Good grief, parents never change! Didn't her father ask that question at the wedding? I don't think it matters whether George and Amal want to have kids. Their parents are never going to give up hope.Donnamarie wrote:Hathaross the ET video was posted earlier on this thread. George always has a good rapport with Nancy. I've always thought it really funny that before marriage your parents want you to live your life with your legs crossed so you don't get pregnant, but as soon as you get that ring on your finger they can't wait for you to have sex so you can give them a grandchild! (You know, the kid they can spoil rotten and then go home and leave you with the consequences. ) Some things are universal.

Thanks for all the pictures and videos. In a coupe of the pictures Amal looks like she is fighting to stay awake (or bored as many web sites of indicated). But no matter wedding tux or not, George looks good.

Re: George Clooney at the Golden Globes January 2015
Or maybe it's an old story. Amal was 36 when she got married. Maybe her mother has been bugging her for years " when are you going to get married and have babies?"Donnamarie wrote:Hathaross the ET video was posted earlier on this thread.
