Hey, this is our office parrot. Note the amount of mess he makes (what you see on his perch took him about an hour to achieve). Not also the splats of passion fruit on the white wall behind him.

As I type, he's currently sitting on the end of my desk chewing his way around a USB stick.

He's a messy little bugger isn't he? Is that bottle a plaything, maybe safer than chewing through a USB Stick. Very cute, though birds frighten me, can't handle the flappy wings they have.

And whose job is Lavatory Monitor in your office Katie ??

Sadly we all get to clean his mess up. It's amazing how much poo one small bird like that produces in a day!

Spent the day in a booth talking and talking and talking to people wanting info that I started to lose my voice and it's only the first day!

Good day but I'm really tired, just on here for a few minutes to clear my head and decompress.

Shall share some fun Ive had recently. Well fun may not be the right word for it but anyhoo...

Hubby has had 3 ECG's lately, his existing heart problems have been playing up - so during an avalanche of questions at the hospital, just after hubby has received an earful from me about how he needs to look after himself better, the Cardio asks is he under any particular stress - Hubby looks at me and our 3 children and just nods - Cardio responds with, yeah well wives can be a handful, thats why Im still single!!. I waited until hubby was okay and ready to be discharged and exacted my revenge. I helped him to pull off albeit very slowly the multitude of stickers the Dr had put all over his hairy bod.... LOL - the Cardio came in and said to me I think you are enjoying that a bit too much - Hubby now has little bald patches everywhere so I suggested we should wax his entire body - he is now avoiding me for some reason....

Good news is that he is okay - and contrary to him telling me Im giving him a heart attack - that didn't happen (yet....)

Good for you TheMinis for taking a potentially serious situation to a turn-around. I do hope he'll be okay! Especially now that he has bald polka dots!!!

Yeah Melbert - I was trying to keep things light as I was panicking for real, but with 3 kids watching on you can't show it. When we arrived at hospital, the Emergency Department told us they had no record of my husband - so my 7 year old yells out how could you lose my Daddy - the door to the ER suddenly opens up and he takes the opportunity to run through the Emergency Department yelling Daddy where are you? When he was stopped by a nurse he tells them Im looking for my Daddy but Mummy calls him Honey! Hilarious and so cute

Me Two...her family sounds like fun! So sorry about your hubby. Hope he is doing better. Next, I think you should introduce him to the Brazilian. Guys are apparently doing it now as well which is how it should be as far as I am concerned! Ha!

OMG - he would divorce me for sure - we are talking about a man who squirms and fidgets if I try to pluck his occasional uni-brow.

He is doing better - think its a case of 14hr plus days taking its toll on him, so he needs to watch that.

Back on meds though right?

Yes - still on same dosage - but hospital released him without waiting for results of blood tests - so hes back at the dr today for check-up.

Gotta love doctors...NOT!

Ugh, what a pain doctors and hospitals are. Glad that it's looking ok for him and you sound like a patient wife. Maybe as a school project you could get your kids to create dot-to-dot pictures on your husband's body using all the bald patches you've created?

I thought I'd vent a bit - so here goes -

I had my oil changed yesterday and, knowing this is the best thing you can do for a car I felt good about it. That is until they told me my brakes were bad and I need a caliper and rotor and brake pads. Then it got worse, they told me my battery is dying and my tires were very bad, I had to choose between a new battery for starting the car or brakes for stopping the car. I chose the obvious, brake repair. So $600 later I' m driving with new brakes, but a bad battery and tires about to explode.

When they gave me the bad news I think they noticed I was crying and gave me a free oil change. LOL

oh my! change tires soon!!! ASAP !!!!!

@Cindi...car troubles are so annoying and expensive...I feel your pain, I don't blame you for getting teary! But I agree with IM...get those tires replaced ASAP!

@ktsue, hope your new kidney works well for you for years to come! My sister's closest friend had a kidney transplant years ago and I know the anti-rejection drugs can be tough. My oldest sister went on dialysis a year ago and is having a hard time dealing with it. So, Kidney Awareness Month in this house will be marked!

@cindi, so so so sorry about your car! You take it in for something little and they always find something major and expensive. But, you do need new tires if those are bald..Could you use a credit card and get them at Sears? Then make payments for a few months to pay them off?

My oldest sis has been in the hospital since Jan 18, on a ventilator for at least a month. We had gotten her out, 10 days ago, and into a rehabilitation place but she suffered a set back yesterday and is back in the hospital. My middle sis and I were switching her hubby and son out and staying at the hospital and rehab place but I, unfortunately picked up something at the hospital called C Diff. For 3 weeks I haven't been able to help because I am spending all my time in the bath room. It's apparently a very severe bacterial infection that is prevalent in hospitals and caused by too much use of broad spectrum antibiotics. I have not been on antibiotics for years--usually healthy as a horse--but because I have some stomach issues, I picked this up! You don't want this believe me...worst thing is it's very contagious...only bleach kills it...so I can't help with my sister. Ironically, I'm now on this narrow spectrum antibiotic that makes me sick every time I take it but I think, after 5 days it's finally starting to work. Scary!

Oh dear Oof....so sorry to read about your troubles. It must be rotten for you being so poorly when you want to help your sister. I do hope you get rid of your horrid bug very soon. But be careful as you'll probably feel washed out for a while when it's gone.

Oof, I'm so, so sorry to hear about your sister's illness and your bacterial infection. It seems when troubles come they come in droves. My best wishes for a speedy recovery for your sister and you.

I've been battling stomach problems for weeks now and know what you're going through. And thanks for your kind wishes for me and my car troubles. I have enough money for a new battery but I'll have to put off new tires and hope they don't blow before they replace them.

To everyone who is going through some troubles at the moment, here's hoping for brighter days for you all.

Thanks theminis - my tire treads are fine, it's the little seams on the side that are worn. I think they call it dry rot. I don't use my car every day and it just sits there in the driveway. It's a Catch-22 - I have to get a new battery so when I can afford to buy the tires I won't have to worry about my car starting. My car is only a few years old and I don't think this should be happening, but c'est la vie!!!!

Oh my I am so sorry for everyone's troubles. I hope you all feel better soon...

and cindi I know the feeling about the car...glad you got the brakes fixed. Mine went on me while I was driving and it was very scary....I was about to go on a highway but luckily I was still on a side street.

Again to all those battling illness feel better and I hope your sister gets well too Oof Oof....

Cindigirl - sorry didnt' realise, thought your tyres were like mine, treads wearing thin so replaced them, also have wheel bearings that are on the way out, so know what its like to have to decide what to fix first. I think you are right, all these things shouldn't be happening with a newish car, guess warranty expired by now?

When the sun is shining in spring, all worries just fly out of my head and I regulary suffer from a hormon overdose...

Thanks for the comments everyone! Wish everyonr would take an interest in ridding the world kidney disease! I think everyone should consider donating a kidney, particularly Mr. Clooney. I love the kidney I have, and I wish this great feeling to others suffering from renal failure.

Oh boy it´s already March! Summer is on it´s way.
And I´m stressed out beyond belief!
I´m painfully aware of how fleeting the time is.
Tomorrow is coming all too quickly.
I wish these day´s hadn´t gone by so fast.

All the sunshine reminds me of all this! Weird.

Well we got socked in yesterday with all this snow, so March came IN like a lion it better leave like a lamb!

Awaiting our turn on this nor'easter. The winds have begun to churn and that can only mean power outages. It seems to me that in the last several years the weather has become more violent. What happened to the gentle rains and pretty snow falls? Everything is blizzards and super storms.

My thoughts go out to all of you who are experiencing difficulties: health and other issues. Maybe spring will bring better times.

Hope you are all OK in USA if you have bad weather.....hope all the poorly ones have a better day today too.

Cindi - I buy used tires for about $20 each. They last for 4-5 months, and keep me going until I have money for new ones.

I found that if you live in an apartment, and the electricity goes out for some reason, run the hot water in your shower and it will warm up your place. I moved from a place that didnt have a working furnace so I ran the shower when it was cold outside. High humidity, but I was warm.
