As normal service has been resumed ...and you asked so nicely... here it is...
For some reason when I’m driving I sing along to Shallow, it’s played a lot here.... this is embarrassing but as I turn the wheel, in my mind, I’m GaGa and George is Bradley....
Tell me something, boy
Aren't you tired tryin' to fill that void?
Or do you need more?
Ain't it hard keeping it so hardcore?
I know nuts....

Yes, I just read that you're likely to have bad weather for the next ten days on the east coast.
In the UK we've just had two weeks of hot sunny weather and we're now in the middle of storm called Freya with rain and winds up to 80 mph.
But of course, according to Dump, this is nothing to do with global warming!
Hope it's nice and calm and warm where you are, Katie!

I can't believe that we're in March already !
I have 3 Important Birthdays this month
now so must get my pennies ready.
So far so good weatherwise here in UK
with not much "Winter Weather" to cope with.
We do talk about the weather a lot here ! LOL
Hope those dealing with heavy snow are
keeping safe & sound. XXX

Re: March 2019 chit chat
The "storm" turned out not to be much of a big deal - at least here in NYC. Just a couple of inches of snow that didn't cause too many problems and will be gone fairly soon.
Now they're talking about it getting really cold later in the week. It's like mother nature is running behind schedule and we're just starting to get winter. At least it isn't as bad as in the Midwest. They've got feet of snow and ice!
Hope whatever weather you have you're keeping safe.

Re: March 2019 chit chat
Has anyone else noticed the huge amount of Drumpf garbage online today? I was going to fill out a survey they posted, just to screw up their results, but it was mandatory that you add your name and email address, so I changed my mind. The last thing I want is to be inundated by pro-Drumpf emails.
Also, before you order any clothes from online vendors, go to their website and check out the reviews - especially the one-, two- and three-star reviews. There was one advertising on COH today that has great looking dresses and the worst reviews I've ever seen for a site. (Not talking about Amazon, but I guess this applies to them, too.)

Have to say, Lizzy, that I never order any clothes online unless I can collect them from the shop and if necessary get a refund there and then once I've tried things on.

Re: March 2019 chit chat
That makes sense, PAN. I pretty much only order online from shops where I've physically shopped in before and am comfortable with their quality and sizing already.
Sorry about the advertising on this site - it's not something I've got control over. It's google display ads, which means uncle google has the advertising space here and uses it to show you the ads it thinks you most want to see.

Re: March 2019 chit chat
Katie - Didn't mean to imply this site was responsible for those ads. I've been seeing them all over the place the last few days. The dresses are really cute so I checked out the site and couldn't believe how many horrible reviews there were and warnings not to buy from the company.
Way back a million years ago, when people shopped in stores instead of online, I bought a super-luxurious flannel nightie from an upscale department store. I took it home and couldn't wait to wear it. Well, I should have waited. It turned me and my sheets BLUE! I was a smurf for days (luckily not on my face - that would have been fun!)
I made a beeline back to the store for a refund, only to be told that they were aware of the problem and to try rinsing the gown with vinegar before wearing it again - AS IF! Oh, and no refund because it had been worn! (Although, how I would know about the problem if I hadn't worn it is beyond me.) Anyhoo, just a reminder to shop carefully.

Re: March 2019 chit chat
Re adverts....a tip.
If you got to "ad block" and download it a lot of
ads don't appear when you're browsing.
There's usually an "x" hidden in a corner of a small advert so that it can be got rid of by carefully
clicking on it.
BTW I find using a stylus is more "User Friendly"
than using my finger.

Hope your tushy is mended ?
If that's not what I think it is then I have a good name.
A paramedic once used the name " Flossy".
She said as long as my/your Flossy is covered etc etc.
She told me that it was suitable to use from age 8 to 90.
We had such a laugh when I told her that it was the name
of my husband's first sweet heart
PS....She came to help when I was stuck in the bath
and I was concerned about male medics seeing my all.....LOL. Okay J- I'll ask.. how did you get stuck in a bathtub??? ( moved this to ChitChat so as to avoid messing up the other thread.... you may thank me now, Katie!!!)

I love seeing them all together. I have to admit I think Kate had too much going on the hat which I don't like and the coat with all the buttons. It seems like one should have been the focal point of the outfit.

Re: March 2019 chit chat
My nephew asked all of us for money as christmas present in December. He's 19 and said he'd like a new car because his car was way too old. Of course he got some money, and in February he told us that he found a really nice car but needed some more money to pay for it. Iliked the car because I thought it's a very safe car. So I gave him more money, and he was able to buy it two weeks ago.
Last Friday, Michael had a very serious accident. His new car was destroyed, he was taken to hospital but just had some bruises and cuts. The police said that, if he had a smaller and less safe car, he hadn't survived the accident.
I'm really glad that I supported him financially...

I'm very happy for you that your nephew is going to be alright. Too bad about the car. I guess he'll have to save up for another one.
You reminded me of a friend of mine who got a new car for college graduation. The first time she drove it she rear-ended a bus and wrecked the car - and the bus was standing still! (She was fine. The only thing she hurt was her pride.)

Has anyone seen the tv show "Miracle Workers"? It's a comedy starring Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi. I'm curious to know what other people think of it - especially the basic premise and the characterization of God.

Way2Old- It airs here on TBS on Wednesdays at 10:30. When I googled it to check the network I saw that there are a bunch of trailers online. If you do get a chance to check it out, I'd like to know what you think.
P.S. I think the first season is almost over. Not sure if there's supposed to be another one.

And here we are, 27th March already! Wasn't it like 2009 just a few years ago??
Do we have any holiday plans already? I've just booked a trip to Seville and Granada and am ridiculously excited about it! And I'll be home, soon after the next royal sprog is delivered, hooray!

Have a great trip Katie. No trips planned as of yet have a 35th anniversary coming up in June so we may plan something later in the year. We wanted to see Hamilton, but the tickets are ridiculous 375 per person won't be doing that.

I've been to Spain, but never to those two cities. Have you been before? Have a great time & make a bunch of new memories.
When you say "home", do you mean the U.K.? How long has it been since you've been back? I give you a lot of credit for being so adventurous. I don't think I could live so far away from home for so long.

Katie, sounds wonderful. I’ve been to Granada and Segovia years and years ago. I remember castles, fascinating architecture and hills. Lots of hills. Lots of walking. And walking. Hope you enjoy!
I’m planning a trip to San Francisco in May. Hopefully going on a whale watching tour and a side trip to Monterey.

I watched the pilot last night. It has a lot of nice ideas, but I think if you're going to do 'irreverent,' you should go for broke. I found it surprisingly tame for the premise. Buscemi's (sp?) 'God' character should be playing the area between despair over failure, and total burnout from trying to make us 'get it.' Instead, he's pretty one-note.
I think they left a lot of funny on the table. I hope the subsequent episodes were better. If I had time to watch more TV, this wouldn't make my list.
What did you think of it

Re: March 2019 chit chat
Sounds great, Katie!
Pictures and videos of Sevilla and Granada look unbelievable, this mixture of Arabian and Spanish architecture and culture must be stunning!
And I simply love San Francisco, Donna! It's my favourite city in the States (I was also very impressed by New York City, Philadelphia and Chicago).
I'll go to Tuscany with my family in October. We'll spend eight nights in Florence, one night at a farm that produces organic food (olive oil, balsamic vinegar, wine, pesto, pasta and lots of other unbelievable delicious food, we order their products for fifteen years), three nights in Venice and three nights further in the North of Italy. We're all looking forward to go there. My husband and I had spent a holiday there in 1998, and it's just amazing! You walk in these towns and get the impression that the whole town is a museum. In June, my husband and I plan to go to the Baltic Sea for just a couple of days to celebrate my 50th birthday. Since my twins will turn 18 at the end of July, we plan a big party together, and I don't want to sit at home on my actual birthday and wait for somebody to turn up or not. And if I invited my closest friends and family, I wouldn't need to invite them go the party later in summer. So I thought it's easier to go away, just enjoy having some days for ourselves...
Going on holidays is so special, isn't it?

Carol, sounds like you have alot to look forward to. Tuscany should be just as wonderful the second time around. The farm visit sounds exceptional. I went on a farm visit just outside Sorrento a couple of years ago and it was unforgettable and one of the best moments of my trip.
