OMG! George Clooney is in Florida. He is in Deerfield Beach NOW. Yes, the 954. I found this out after stalking the distribution company of his new Tequila brand, which is called Casamigos. The operator just told me, “Are you the girl from the blog? Our event’s lady Rox is in a meeting with him now. He just arrived, we are a bit nuts here and they are organizing the event as we speak. She will get back to you.”

Casamigos, the celebrity-backed liquor, comes straight from Mexico, the Tequila capitol of the universe. It’s no surprise that Clooney and dear friend Rande Gerber (aka Cindy Crawford’s hubbby) are launching this product NOW—the fun-loving BFFs are known for doing their share of tequila shots. More surprisingly? They are launching the brand in a small way, by hitting up four influential markets: Miami, Dallas, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Miami is apparently first.

The pricing of Casamigos is said to be “accessible,” which is refreshing after seeing spiraling costs at nightclubs for “designer” tequilas. However, since this tequila was especially produced for Clooney and Gerber, I’m guessing they can do whatever they want with it. Shots anyone?

Hey guys. Still up and raring to go! He looks tired and probably a little drunk in some of the photos? Is probably having to drink at every event. Can't imagine this kind of thing is a whole lot of fun. He's most definitely a good friend to Rande for agreeing to do this...or he needs the money.

As an aside, wish he would wear his tees, bomber jacket and jeans. Not a big fan of the open shirt, sports jacket look.

Has G ever done this before? Been part owner in something and be the one hawking it using his image? I can't think of anything but I could be wrong. This whole tequila thing seems so out of character for him to be doing. The ad, the signature on the bottle, etc. It does look to be a bit of a money grab (and I don't know why I think that cause we have known about this for ages).

I know he has the normal endorsements using his image to sell someone else's product and he has invested in projects (I assume like his buddy's restaurant in LA and the failed to happen casino) and whatnot, but has he been involved in a product before from creation to spruiking it to the masses where the whole point of the excercise is profit?

Who wouldn't want to do a few shots of tequila with George Clooney? The Oscar winner walked into Hakkasan Tuesday night and the crowd parted.

The actor was there with business partner and longtime friend, Rande Gerber, to talk about their new tequila.

Casamigos is named after their houses in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

"We were always looking for the perfect tequila and we could never find it," said Clooney. "So we decided to make our own. I'm not just endorsing this. It's ours."

Though he claimed that Casamigos won't give you a hangover, he does have the perfect cure: "Go get the greasiest, nastiest food. If you're going to be miserable, might as well. That's the day to get the fries at McDonald's."

If someone has personally invested in a new product, surely it's good
business sense to be hands on the initial promotion of
your product, whatever that product is ?
It's a business venture, nothing more nothing less.

George has helped other companies make money by his participation
in their advertising over the years, it's now his own company
that he's promoting. Nothing wrong it that.
It's up to him what he does with the profits, so long as its legal
and he pays his taxes.

Yep, Jo. And as it's his baby, he's going to give it all the time he can spare........ and if you think about it, it's something he clearly wants to do, and in the larger scheme of things directing, producing and writing a screenplay based on somebody else's factual book is a lot more daunting.

And if he wants to direct his girlfriend in an ad, that's his choice. Probably worked on it over Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year.

This man can do anything. Amazing!

Just days before he's scheduled to present at the Golden Globes, George Clooney's Casamigos Tequila road trip took him, along with partners Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman, to Rocco's Tacos on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale last night. Clooney & co. were in Dallas the night before and will hit Vegas before heading back to LA.

I don't know how to move this to the appropriate thread, so oooops....

Just my thoughts - this pic looks like it could maybe be an opening shot for their little promo mini movie. Said it was loosely based on a true story. In an article I read about this, it said specifically George in bed with Cindy. Maybe it's played out that George had too much to drink, boarded the wrong private jet and stumbled into bed with Cindy. No doubt the "it could happen to you" refers to a dream coming true and what red blooded male hasn't fantasized about being in bed with Cindy Crawford? It could easily be shot in a style that is spoofy and funny and does not sleaze reputations. After all, the Gerbers have children and surely at least Cindy would be cognizant of the effect a slutty commercial would have on her kids. No, I think it will be a cute, 'simple mistake' kind of presentation and Miss Stacy will play a very minimal role.

Sigh, well I can at least hope, can't I? Still think the Keibs gets way kudos for getting such a public acknowledgement from G to be put in his commercial...............(damnit)

Good point. TV ads are HUGE money, and one minute is a long time, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it marketed in the parts of the world they're pushing it.

Clearly been working on it for a while, and I would take a bet it's already in the can........and maybe all this explains lack of sightings in Cabo i e we'll get pix and film when they're ready. It looks to me as if the NY Post is their organ of choice - if you know what I mean!

I agree with Fava. Think Rande looks ridiculous. Like an old player trying to look young. I also sadly agree with you Lakin in thinking George doesn't look like his sexy self. But some of that looks to me to be discomfort at being there, over indulging in their product and being too thin.

Weight can really make a difference. Look at Matthew Mcconaughey. He lost 50 pounds for a role recently and looked old, and tired. George looks like he's wasting away.
