I think this is Dallas so not far from Los Angeles. Oh and Atalante I wish I could give you mine----my Mom drank grappa all the time and I still have it in my freezer. I tried to drink some of it but could barely get it down. I don't know how she did it. Can you post the chocolate cake recipe on the recipe thread?

I think he looks nice---in performance mode but still nice.

Dreamy Hollywood actor George Clooney spotted in Dallas promoting his new tequila

If you were a big somebody in the Dallas-Fort Worth spirits world, you got to sip tequila on Monday with dreamy Hollywood actor George Clooney, who was in Dallas to promote a new tequila he's launching with hotel impresario Rande Gerber called Casamigos.

Clooney and Gerber's visit was part of a road trip to promote their new venture; Dallas was one of a number of select cities that include Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Miami. The tequila debuts nationally this spring.

Restaurateur Al Biernat started the gossip mill rolling on Sunday night when he leaked on Facebook that Clooney was in town, commenting wistfully that he hoped they would stop by Al Biernat's. "We just happen to have six bottles on hand, just in case," he wrote.

Instead, Clooney and Gerber held court at the Hotel Intercontinental, where liquor distributor Glazer's hosted a tasting for a just over a dozen elated group of restaurateurs and high-end liquor stores. An even smaller group reportedly had dinner with the suavely handsome actor.

According to the New York Post, the pair brainstormed about creating a tequila after Gerber scored a hit with his Caliche Rum, Puerto Rican rum he launched in 2012. Gerber is married to supermodel Cindy Crawford.

Most attendees remained mum about the Dallas event, but a few couldn't resist crowing on the Casamigos Facebook page. "The Tequlia [sic] is fabulous! The Silver and Reposado both are so smooth and taste great," said one attendee.

FrontBurner president Jack Gibbons posted a photo of himself with Clooney and said that the actor was fun and gracious.

"I was telling my kids that I can't go home without a picture, so George handed someone my camera, and said, 'Take a picture of us,'" Gibbons said. "He said, 'Jack we’re going to do a fake left, like a football plan. You're going to look like I told you the best joke you ever heard.' He had this laugh, his head was rolling back. He did it better than I do. He's so good at that.

"The guy is unbelievable. He oozes charm," he said.

I am so not digging the bottle and the label. It looks like bottled water instead of what I assume will be pricey tequila. When I think of tequila, I always think of those short bottles with the wide base.

The label reminds me of government documents, or bank checks, maybe they wanted something to separate them from all the other famous people selling booze, and this was it.

I do not drink tequila if not in coctktail if msi compreròuna bottle of "tequila will Casamigos as a souvenir for the signature of George ........ but I do not know if I will!......because it is a strange situation and George in this situation (help me to overcome!) seems like a jerk!

George Clooney Brings His New Tequila, His Best Friend and His 1000-Watt Smile to Dallas

Unless you live under a rock, you probably know that George Clooney (aka sexiest man alive) was in Dallas on Monday with pal Rande Gerber (aka Cindy Crawford's husband) promoting a new tequila called Casamigos.

Clooney and Gerber's visit was part of a road trip to promote their new venture; Dallas was the first official stop in a group of select cities that include Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Miami. The tequila's name, Casamigos, was inspired by their homes in Mexico, and it is expected to be sold at "a reasonable price point."

The pair later made an appearance at Iron Cactus in Downtown Dallas before retiring to The Mansion where they were staying. Why Iron Cactus you ask and not someplace more high-profile like Al Biernat's? A little birdie told me that Iron Cactus bought 1,000 bottles of the stuff to get them. Sorry, Al, but 6 bottles wasn't even enough to get you a text, much less a personal appearance. But, because of Al's Facebook post, his consolation prize was a packed house full of diners hoping to get a glimpse. Oh, Al. You are a PR genius if I ever met one! I love a man who knows how to work a rumor.

One lucky woman who did get to lay paws on Clooney was my friend, Dana Vidal (pictured above). Vidal told me that both Clooney and Gerber were utterly charming, working the room and taking photos with anyone who wanted them (which was everyone!). Lucky, lucky lady...
