He said he handed the specs to David Fincher, figuring the director would know how to take charge, but he, Fincher, "chickened out." The glasses ended up back with Streep's husband. Or so Clooney said.

Thanks Katie for all the posts above.
I've just watched my recording of the Awards show
and enjoyed it all. Was able to ignore the most annoying
awful adverts that way too.
Lot's of bleeps !

So pleased for George and The Descendants.
But what was with Harrison Ford's announcement
of the winning film ?
When he said "The Descendants" it came across almost
as a snarl ??

So many interesting moments in the whole show and great
to see so many "old" stars from my time.
Sydney Poitier was Lovely !

I was lucky enough that when I got home after work today I switched on the TV and Fox Movies was showing the GG so I was able to watch the last 20 minutes of the show. That story is exactly what happened. The glasses were passed from Streep's table to George who then passed it to someone sitting right at the front (I didn't know it was Fincher) mouthing and gesturing to him to bring it up to the stage, but the man didn't. He (Fincer) hovered a bit, then sat back down, still holding the glasses.

I did catch that part of it. he reminded me of his character in the last harrison Ford movie I watched... I think it was called Morning Glory or something like that. it was a good movie.

i figured i would catch highlights or lowlights of the show in the news. I already heard about the racist joke and then they cut right to the table with the cast of The Help Shocked

I wondered what Michael Fassbender thought of George's speech. Here's his reaction:

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais wasn’t the only one doling out the barbs at Sunday’s ceremony.

When George Clooney accepted the award for Best Actor in a Drama (for his role in “The Descendants”) he not only thanked pal Brad Pitt, but he also took a moment to commend fellow nominee Michael Fassbender on his manhood.

“I would like to thank Michael Fassbender for taking over the frontal nude responsibly that I had,” George joked, referring to Michael’s often-nude performance in “Shame.”

“Really Michael, honestly, you can play golf like this with your hands behind your back,” George said, while making a golf swing motion with his hands behind back. “Go for it man, do it!”

As George joked with Michael, the “Shame” star was seen smiling in the audience, but what did Irish/German actor really think about “The Descendants” star joking about his manhood in front of all of Hollywood and the world?

“I love him, man,” Michael told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman following the ceremony.

George Clooney let Stacy Keibler speak on the Globes red carpet: good idea?

As I mentioned in yesterday’s Open Post, last night was all about George Clooney. I don’t get why he’s so desperate for validation this year, of all years. Why is he pushing himself in our faces so hard? Why was he, like, one of the first people on the red carpet? He arrived before Lea Michele, right? WTF is happening? And most importantly, WHY DID HE LET HER SPEAK?!?!?

So Clooney and Stacy Keibler were one of the first people to arrive on the Globes red carpet, and they did a longer interview with Ryan Seacrest. George let Stacy speak! And dear God, this girl has nothing to say. She didn’t even pick out her dress – George chose it. Probably because he doesn’t want another tit tape disaster, right? My favorite part – the part that made me laugh hysterically – was when Stacy fronted like she and George have ALWAYS done the Globes red carpet together. She said something about how glad they were to be there because “this is always such a fun night!” Like she’s been so many times. Like she and Dame Helen Mirren are always up for awards together.

Anyway, Stacy’s dress was Valentino – I actually like it, and it flatters her figure and it’s a nice color. I don’t even mind the bow at the back. My only problem was with the scraggily hair. What is her hair problem? She does “rat’s nest” hairstyles too often.

So… Clooney won Best Actor over Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender, but he managed to give both men a shout-out in his acceptance speech. I did like what he said about the Fassdong and how… ENDOWED my Fassy is. It was nice of George to notice, and to comment about the Fassdong publicly. Bless his heart.

I bolded that sentence because I've been wondering the same thing. The major stars are usually the last ones on the carpet. Yet George was the first one at the Globes and at the Critic's Choice the other night. I'm not sure what that might signify but it seems an odd change of etiquette.

I thought he once said he liked to arrive on the early side. He also did at the Oscars with SL.

Thanks it's me for the video in Stacy thread. Did anyone catch the video of the girl who escorted the celebs to the presenters all night? She's Rainey Qualley, Ande McDowell's daughter. I noticed her in her gold gown and thought she was pretty.

After making the obligatory party rounds at the Beverly Hilton Hotel following the Golden Globe Awards, many stars ended their evening at the CAA Party at Sunset Tower.

Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Stacy Keibler (just to name a few) were at the packed post-show bash and spent the evening catching up with their celeb friends. Brad and George hung close laughing throughout the night while their respective ladies made their social rounds elsewhere.

Emma Stone was also in attendance, but was absent her hunky Spider-Man costar and boyfriend Andrew Garfield. So who was she chatting with instead?

I saw quite a bit of comfortable communication between GTC & SK, together with laughter and confirmation from BOTH of going to Greece !
