Drink Like George Clooney as You Watch the Golden Globes

Raise a glass to the actor after you make a Golden Amigo cocktail, or just go for a shot of tequila

If you want to raise a glass while you watch George Clooney accept the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award at Sunday’s Golden Globes, it might as well be a glass of the actor’s own tequila.

Whether you and your viewing-party guests want to toast Clooney’s latest award or his recent marriage, you can make cocktails with Casamigos, the tequila brand Clooney started with his friends Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman.

Or we suppose you could really get your buzz going by doing a shot, maybe straight from the bottle, every time the movie star thanks somebody during his acceptance speech.

But Clooney’s Casamigos Reposado is a smooth, small-batch spirit, so you might want to savor it more slowly. After all, award ceremonies are known to run long.

Here’s an easy recipe for Casamigos’ Golden Amigo cocktail if you want to mix things up at home.

Golden Amigo

Ingredients

1.5 oz. Casamigos Reposado tequila
1 oz. fresh lime juice
1/4 oz. fresh orange juice
1/2 oz. agave nectar

Instructions

Shake ingredients with ice.
Strain and serve on the rocks.
Garnish with orange wedge.

My drink will be
50/50 tap water & soda water
With a dash of Dry Martini
in a pretty china mug with a packet of crisps !

.....and I'm routing for Our Benedict Cumberbatch !
