To be honest I doubt the store would last long enough for most of us to visit anyway. In this economy opening up a new business isn't the brightest idea but I think Eli and Val think they can really cash in on her connection by then ex connection with George. Go buy clothes from the girl who caught an A lister...well for awhile anyway. They need to move soon cause once the split happens there isn't a long window of time where people remain interested!

Eli hasn't endeared herself to the Italian public by talking about her life in the US etc and preferring to live there but is quite happy to go back and work in Italy cause it is the only place to get a job. After San Remo people are seeing how untalented she really is. The Chef made a comment to get attention the same way Eli shows her butt to get it too. The show sounds like it has been played with too much and instead of relying on the Chef and the food they are peppering it with Celebs to get more interest. I think she may off promised Alfonso things and it became clear it wouldn't happen. He may off thought George would show up I wouldn't put it past Eli to make promises she knows she can't keep. Yes she sucked but you just don't sack someone after one night. I think something else has happened Chi hasn't run any Eli stories and we haven't seen her with George since the dinner either! It will be interesting to see if Eli shows up again in the pages of Chi and what they say. If she has pissed Alfonso off my guess is it wont be the big lovestory angle anymore.

this night i have seen the whole show for you....she was not that bad and accidents like the one between her and yhe cook happened to everyone so i dont think it was so important,at a certain moment they asked what she cooks for george and she laughed and said we prefer to go out so signorini said that liked that she was sincere and she added that she often makes pasta with pomodoro and that she wanted to say thanks to mrs elena who cooks in casa clooney and who taught her some recipes

I would think then that she couldn't rent anything on a tourist visa. What sort of visa would she need to open a store unless her friend has links with the US and has no problems in which case everything will be under her name. I don't see Eli working in the shop and putting things in a bag for you. She would probably be the face off!

Anyone else find it strange that Betty states that she now lives in LA but Val is the one looking for real estate?? That Val needs help finding a realtlor? Wouldn't her business partner who claims to be based in LA be able to make those inquiries? Or was she too busy in Mexico working on her tan? Also what kind of partnership is it if Betty was in Italy at the time that Val is looking/organising the store location? If that was me and my name was most likely going to be use to help promote it then I would want some say as to the layout, location and the such. Maybe this is Val's baby and Betty's name is just going to be used to get an initial spark of press attention.

My guess is that Betty (and Val) has put money into it. If it had silent investors, I think they would want the store up and running already as to trade on the Clooney connection as soon as they could. Also I think investors would get them to open a store in Italy first to ensure that they can run and manage a store where they are both known before setting up shop in another country in one of the hardest retail areas to make a profit in the States especially as neither of them has any current store experience and both are relatively unknown in the States. I do think Betty will be in the store - at least for a long as the paps are around. She can get press coverage, the store gets press coverage and once it dies off, then they get someone in to manage the day to day.

If the store even exists, then I think Betty will be there about as often as Kim Kardashian is in hers, ie: never once the launch party is over.

Betty does have retail experience, ahem, having designed her own range of clothing some years ago. I can't find where it is now, but we did have pics of it on this forum a while back.

What you show up stand around take a few pics, check your phone for messages, sit in front row etc. etc. etc. How many hours do you work, for the money you earn? No wonder chef on cooking show made the comments he did!

I just did a search for retail spaces in Beverly Hills available for lease and I came up with over 65 properties (see here). So finding something in the neighbourhood should not be too hard. I guess it depends on their budget.

I do wonder about their business plan for this store though. Val was asking for help to determine the best location in beverly hills for the store (on my interpretation of her tweet). Would you not have done your research to determine where your customer demographic is so that you can ensure the store is in the right neighbourhood? Or do are they just zip code snobs who want to say that their store is in BH as if that on it's own makes it a successful venture?

parade but that was undoubtedly paid to attend and wear
clothing designer.
Yes, when it is part of a certain world (fashion and entertainment and Ely is part of it and not two years but less than ten) is easy to earn

Well that actually makes the outfit even worse if it was given to her by the designers to wear! After seeing that fab dress on the cooking show her look for the fashion parade is worse then bad. I don't think she would get that much money for showing up some free clothes and press and a seat in the front row. She couldn't be that hard up for cash surely!

I think the most Bette will do is be around enough to have her picture taken maybe help choose the name and do the launch. I think they picked the richest area because they think they will make a lot of money. But in this economy it is pretty stupid to start a high end business with no experience. Retail is very different from PR etc and Eli has already failed once and that wasn't running an actual shop! I think there will be investors she has lots of friends who have or have married money.

I have read ALL the blogs in Italian. No, Canalis will not be back, you could not have two primadonnas in a cooking show when the real characters are the cooks. Every articles, magazines, newspapers and blogs say that Belen has REPLACED Canalis in the cooking program. The rest of the cast remains intact but there is the possibility for a singer, Iva Zanicchi, to partecipate, who, besides singing well she is also a cook cook. By the way, it seems that the relationship between George and Canalis is over but I have to start a new post for that I suppose.

For Elisabetta the summer will not be spent organizing luxury parties in the villa in Laglio, no more boat nor motorcycle trips holding on to her George. For the former pretty velina there is nothing left but to console herself cooking, but no longer in TV, and to enjoy her house in Mexico that her ex-boyfriend gave her sometime ago.

Sorry for writing in Italian but it seems that it is over. I remember an interview with the director of an Italian newspaper who said that it would be over by July 2011. It was indeed a publicity contract.
I still have in mind a photo of a trip together to LA. Eli was extremely sad. Look also at the latest pictures of George on the lake, he has a very gloomy face. I wish them both true happiness in the future. Regards to everybody.
