I've been married over 30 years and still enjoy my husband's company over anyone else. Maybe a handful of times in all the years we've gone out to eat, even a burger joint, have we not talked and looked at each other. Those times we were probably bone tired or were fighting. I can see once in a while getting pics of them like this, but there seems to be no connection between them in almost every set of pics I see. BTW, I've been lurking for awhile now, but I'm ready to jump in and join the conversation. I like the way you all respect each other.

I believe that between Gee and Ely is a story that will last:
- He is very protective of Ely, takes her hand always
- She has never been photographed holding hands with his former, not his habit
- Both are free to go out with friends without having to be constantly together
- She, unlike the other girlfriend, has made sacrifices to be with him, away from his job and his friends and family
- Both involved in their history, their parents, would never have done if it had not been a serious matter, because both are very attached to family and respect.
- Temperamentally well together because they resemble, they love being with friends, only in red carpet but in normal life are elegant dress with a t-shirt and jeans.
- Both are simple people, who love the simple things
- She, in all the interviews, has always avoided talking about him and when he spoke always made fun of the interviewer, this belief has learned from him

I was going to write that I think you're the only one who thinks this is a love story, Lelacorb, but then I see that four people voted they thought George and Betty will get married so maybe you're not.

For me, I think they're ok together, but this is no deep love and they will split up, probably by the end of this summer.

I don't see it as any great love and maybe it will last another year, maybe not. George always treats his girlfriends good and is considerate of woman in general. Be it either putting his hand on their waist, leading them out of harm's way, etc. This I witnessed personally, so I can say he is a gentlemen, even to perfect strangers or fans. He always hold hands with girlfriend, some guys don't, George does. I don't pick up any great chemistry between these two. He was with Lisa on/off for 5 (?) years, so as long as the relationship fits their expectations at this time it will/might continue.

Trust me, there is a long line of woman who would chuck their lives and spend every waking minute with George, if he would let them. Betty has spent alot of time with George but obviously still picks up little jobs here and there. When he starts changing his schedule to accomodate them, then it might be something. He is heavily invested into his work, if she didn't change her schedule, they wouldn't be together. He has taken some time, to go visit her parents, pick her up before Venice, etc. but she has given up more. Although he is inviting her to come, whereever he is, so he must want her around.

Of course it was scripted caused to get attention. Even mentioning Clooney to get some attention. All seems a bit desperate I don't know any other cooking show who needs to go to those legnths. Masterchef is huge over her and Top Chef is a great show too. Maybe it is just the italian way then feel the need to see scantily clad women everywhere even washing up. Doesn't sound like Eli was a success anyway it appears even washing up people don't buy it! The Chef sounds like he was trying to be Gordan Ramsey rude which seems to only actually work for Gordon.

I don't know much about Italian TV, but are there not many shows that the format is comic with sexy younger woman dressed less? From what I have seen most shows are alike.All about the woman that is a fantasy,there to arouse/please.

Not the cooking shows generally. We have Masterchef and I watch Top Chef etc and none of them have anyone on like Eli. Padma the host of Top Chef is lovely but she doesn't come across as just window dressing and rarely is she tarted up like Eli. It's supposed to be a cooking show not a comedy if he has bought a franchise show he has played with the formula there is a reason why the original would have been so popular. The chefs do the drama on the show they generally argue with each other not the helpers, but then I can't remember a cooking show that has had the "star" helpers like this one.

The american traslation ( popsugar, zimbio etc..) was:I will married George and I don't want children,
It's 'necessary to translate interviews in Italian is learned the language or perhaps lies part of the gossip?

Eli made it clear she wants marriage one day she also made it clear in her last interview that she does want children. She also said she wouldn't be with someone who disrespected her by saying the never wanted to marry her or have kids. George has made his feeling clear on both these issues but has never said I will never marry Eli or have babies with her. Of course the gossip sites make their own headlines but in this case Eli gave them the bullets to do it. There was no need for her to mention marriage or babies or George but she did! And she did it cause she uses the press just as much as they use her. As for the great love between the two I don't and have never seen him act anyway different then he has with the last few girls. He holds hands with all of them, leans in a little kiss on the cheek he does it too all nothing special about Eli. Same with the folks all the girls seem to meet his parents only unusual thing was her getting him to be so public visiting her family. Normally he does that a lot quieter but it didn't look like he had much choice. Although she has gotten to talk a lot more but I think she may be getting a little desperate cause it is so near the end. I think the split will be public by the end of summer actually I think before that. Darfur is looking good for a time for the split. The leaks of unease between the to keep coming and people are not buying this great love story. If it was a real love story she wouldn't be talking about him and doing these desperate ass shots etc. George if he ever marries will do it in secret and it will come out of the blue to someone a lot quieter and a lot less seen then Eli. Some girls you marry some girls you don't Eli is not a marrying type of girl! I won't shed any tears for her she has made plenty of money off George and will bounce back and hook up with someone other rich guy fast!

I find it hard to believe that George would allow her to get away with calling the paps, he wants his privacy. Do you think she could do this without him knowing? Don't underestimate him, even when he looks like a foolish older man with a younger GF. IMO he has much more experience and alot more going on than Ms. bettabuns will ever have.

What I meant to say/type which I did badly in above comment is most of the Italian TV programs that I have seen( not many) the format is always the same, betta type women dressed sexy, made fun of, there for eye candy, while the men have the more important roles, more serious parts.

But I have the impression GC is like my brother (non-confrontational type), but my brother will give hints to his girlfriend if she is making him upset/unhappy and if she keeps doing over and over, he will eventually break up... The last one he did that, he dated for 3 years and when he realized she would not change, he kept giving hints for like 3 to 4 months and then, he broke up and said: i had enough and I warned you for 4 months that I was getting tired of it. Mind you he loved her and we also liked her too.
