Debi and I ate supper at Caproni's the only fancy resturant in Maysville Ky. about 45 miles east of Alexandria saturday 2-26-11. We walked in and there sits Nick and George Clooney with Nicks wife and George's girl friend. It was cool. No one bothered them, including Debi and I , the waitress said Nick eats there at least every other week. George not very often. Here is a cell phone photo which does suck, but the white hair guy is Nick, across from him is George. The wife's /girl friend is behind both. It was low light and I was shooting thru glass. Maysville is across the river from the Yum Yum.

Sanremo 2011, costi e guadagni: i cachet degli artisti e i ricavi pubblicitari.

Sanremo 2011 is now over a week, but the long wave of controversy is bound to last long in the corridors of Viale Mazzini. Rai out of the buildings, though, there's curiosity about the costs and revenues of the Sanremo Festival: to reveal the cachet of the artists involved on the stage of the Ariston February 15 to 19 last thought for Vanity Fair, showing payments of Gianni Morandi, Belen Rodriguez, Elisabetta Canalis, Luke and Paul and superospiti, Roberto Benigni Robert De Niro, Monica Bellucci, Andy Garcia, Take That, Avril Lavigne. But an assessment of costs can not be done without a look at revenues: Sipra figures show more than 20 million euro from the sale of advertising space.

What were the cachet of the artists of Sanremo 2011? He tells Vanity Fair that in some cases confirmed in other rises, the figures circulating in recent days.

The CACHET TEAM

ART EDUCATION (valleys, choreographers, directors, writers)
We also see the fees for some pictures of 'support': Ellen Hidding, star of TV promotions with Morandi, 2,500 € spot, for a total of 50,000 € (for the relationship with the showgirls very well paid) for the valley Szilvia Winter, appeared on stage in San Remo to deliver verdicts in the envelopes of Morandi, 500 € per episode for a total of 2,500 €.

Large team of authors (creators of the wonderful interviews that will be one of the 'cornerstones' of Sanremo 2011) composed by Simona Ercolani, Federico Moccia, Martin Clericetti, Ivano Balduini, Francesco Valitutti and Michele Ferrari, who would cost around € 336,000, more food and accommodation in San Remo and Rome (for the preparatory meetings).

We come to superospiti: Rai did not pay a euro for Robert De Niro and Monica Bellucci (and not so bad, considering the horrendous interviews that they have been key players), paid by Filmauro De Laurentiis, a production of Manual of Love 3 as the special price for the film, free participation for Antonella Clerici, which is touched to open the 61st edition Maelle with his daughter to pass the baton to Morandi, closes the list of guests at no cost Avril Lavigne, came to promote Ariston its disk.

Rai has instead paid Andy Garcia, host of the first episode, which has paid € 250,000 and Take That, which would go to 130,000 €. This has helped us prof. Doglio Daniel, Professor of Media Economics at the Catholic University of Milan, a regular guest of TV Talk. Starting from the premise that advertisers do not care the percentage of share (rather useful to broadcasters to assess the relations of the competition), Professor. Doglio has pitted some of the advertising revenue figures of Sipra, the licensee Rai. Recall that in that case a second spot costs € 100,000, the figures we are around 5.700/5.800 per second. " Unable to make a comparison with the U.S., of course, but advertising revenue of Sanremo are useful to understand the cost-benefit analysis: those so criticized Benigni for € 250,000 (donated to charity, however, Mayer Pediatric Hospital of Florence) earned him a lot, but much more to Rai.

Quali sono stati i cachet degli artisti di Sanremo 2011? Ce lo dice Vanity Fair che in alcuni casi conferma, in altri alza, le cifre circolate nei giorni scorsi.

I CACHET DELLA SQUADRA
Partiamo dal capitano Gianni Morandi: per lui si era parlato di un compenso lordo di 600.000 euro, ora ritoccato al ‘rialzo’; il cantante avrebbe percepito 800.000 euro di contratto cui vanno aggiunti 24.000 euro per ogni telepromozione. Considerato che ognuna delle cinque serate del Festival prevedeva quattro telepromozioni, in totale Morandi avrebbe portato a casa 1 milione e 280mila euro, ma non si sa se lordi o netti.

Sostanzialmente confermati, invece, i cachet di Belen Rodriguez ed Elisabetta Canalis che hanno guadagnato ciascuna 160.000 euro (anche qui non si sa se lordi o netti): non molto, considerato il peso di Sanremo. ‘Fuori budget’ Rai la villa in Messico regalata alla Canalis dal fidanzato George Clooney.
Per Luca e Paolo, veri mattatori di Sanremo 2011, 150.000 euro a testa; diciamo pure che non sono andati lì per soldi.

SETTORE ARTISTICO (vallette, coreografi, regista, autori)
Vediamo anche i compensi per alcune figure di ’supporto’: a Ellen Hidding, protagonista delle telepromozioni con Morandi, 2.500 euro a spot, per un totale di 50.000 euro (per rapporto con le showgirls decisamente ben pagato); per la valletta Szilvia Winter, comparsa sul palco di Sanremo per consegnare le buste dei verdetti a Morandi, 500 euro a puntata per un totale di 2.500 euro.

Rimanendo sul settore artistico, Daniel Ezralow e il suo corpo di ballo si sono divisi 340.000 euro (da cui vanno dedotte le spese); Franco Miseria, coreografo di Belen e Canalis, ha portato a casa solo 40.000 euro, mentre il regista Duccio Forzano ha ricevuto un compenso di 100.000 euro che ha coperto non solo le cinque serate del Festival ma anche tutta la lunga preparazione. Per Gianmarco Mazzi 200.000 euro, stabiliti da contratto; altrettanti sono previsti per Sanremo 2012.

E perché non dare un’occhiata ai compesi degli autori? Nutrito il team di autori (artefici delle splendide interviste che rimarranno una delle ‘pietre miliari’ di Sanremo 2011) composto da Simona Ercolani, Federico Moccia, Martino Clericetti, Ivano Balduini, Francesco Valitutti e Michele Ferrari, che sarebbe costato in tutto 336.000 euro, più il vitto e l’alloggio a Sanremo e a Roma (per le riunioni di preparazione).

I CACHET DEGLI OSPITI DI SANREMO 2011
Veniamo ai superospiti: la Rai non ha sborsato un euro per Robert De Niro e Monica Bellucci (e meno male, considerato le orrende interviste che li hanno visti protagonisti), pagati dalla Filmauro di De Laurentiis, casa di produzione di Manuale d’Amore 3, come costo promozionale per la pellicola; partecipazione gratuita anche per Antonella Clerici, cui è toccato aprire la 61ma edizione con la figlia Maelle per passare il testimone a Morandi; chiude la lista degli ospiti a costo zero Avril Lavigne, giunta all’Ariston per promuovere il suo disco.
La Rai ha invece pagato Andy Garcia, ospite della prima puntata, cui ha versato ben 250.000 euro e i Take That, cui sarebbero andati 130.000 euro. E appare evidente come le polemiche sui 250.000 euro a Benigni siano state assolutamente strumentali: non c’è paragone tra l’ora di show ‘regalato’ da Benigni nella serata dedicata all’Unità d’Italia (che ha totalizzato picchi di ascolto di oltre 19 milioni di telespettatori proprio durante la sua esibizione) e l’inquietante mezz’oretta che ha visto Garcia ‘intervistato’ da Morandi, con annessa esibizione canora su Cuba Libre.

Per quanto riguarda gli ospiti ‘mancati’, per Fabio Cannavaro erano stati concordati 150.000 euro, mentre Sylvester Stallone aveva richiesto 380.000 euro, cifra decisamente troppo alta data la media dell’annata.

Fin qui i costi noti, visto che mancano tutte le spese connesse all’organizzazione dell’evento (dalla promozione all’ospitalità, dal comparto tecnico a quello logistico e via così), ma cerchiamo anche di capire le entrate della Rai per le cinque serate di Sanremo 2011.
In questo ci ha aiutato il prof. Daniele Doglio, docente di Economia dei Media all’Università Cattolica di Milano, ospite fisso di Tv Talk. Partendo da presupposto che agli investitori pubblicitari non interessa la percentuale di share (utile piuttosto alle emittenti per valutare i rapporti con la concorrenza), il prof. Doglio ha snocciolato alcune cifre degli introiti pubblicitari della Sipra, la concessionaria Rai. Ebbene la Sipra ha dichiarato circa 41 milioni di euro di ricavi dalla vendita di tutti gli spazi previsti (break, spot, telepromozioni, farfalle, etc.), che al netto degli sconti applicati per i pacchetti Sanremo porterebbero a circa 28/29 milioni di entrate pubblicitarie.

Ecco quanto dichiarato dal docente nella puntata di Tv Talk di sabato 19 febbraio: “Come al solito è impossibile fare i conti in tasca alle singole manifestazioni, perché gli spazi vengono venduti molto prima, vengono venduti a prezzi di listino, la trattativa comporta forti sconti… io posso darvi i cifrec certi: la Sipra ha dichiarato intorno 41 mln di raccolta pubblicitaria per questo Sanremo – dice Doglio – Applicando gli sconti medi, il risultato netto potrebbe essere intorno ai 28/29 milioni, che corrisponde al 2,5% della fatturato annuo di Sipra“.

Cifre di tutto rispetto, quindi, che permettono alla Rai di portare a casa un discreto guadagno, al netto delle spese organizzative e ‘artistiche’. Certo, cifre ‘irrisorie’ se confrontate al maggiore evento della tv Usa, il Super Bowl, citato dallo stesso Doglio per dare una misura delle cifre del mercato televisivo internazionale. “Il Super Bowl registra 110 mln di telespettatori per un‘ora e mezza, Sanremo 2011 ha raccolto circa 55 milioni di telespettatori (sommando i dati delle varie serate, n.d.r.) in 25 ore di trasmissione: gli introiti pubblicitari di Sanremo sono circa meno di un decimo di quello che ha raccolto Fox per il Super Bowl. Ricordiamo che in quel caso un secondo di spot costa 100.000 euro, da noi le cifre si aggirano sui 5.700/5.800 al secondo“. Impossibile fare un paragone con gli Usa, ovviamente, ma gli introiti pubblicitari di Sanremo sono utili per capire il rapporto costi-benefici: quei tanto criticati 250.000 euro a Benigni (devoluti peraltro in beneficenza all’Ospedale Pediatrico Mayer di Firenze) sono valsi molto, ma molto di più alla Rai.</sup>
