OH George Clooney, what’s the matter with you?

You have a gorgeous new girlfriend, Stacy Keibler. She’s blonde, she’s beautiful and almost 20 years younger than you, you grizzly old goat. And she’s a wrestler. That’s about three male fantasies all wrapped up in one fabulous body.

Yet when you step out together in public for the first time, what do you do? You keep her at arm’s length.

You don’t smile at her with suppressed longing. There is no contact between you, no sign you care two hoots that this lovely creature is with you.

Your last girlfriend, sultry Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis, was gorgeous too. And the one before her, cocktail waitress turned model Sarah Larson, and the one before her, our own Lisa Snowdon. Before her there was Celine Balitran, another waitress who was also studying law, so she was obviously brainy as well as beautiful and stylish.

That’s quite a line-up of exes. But did George Clooney ever look pleased to be with any of them? No he did not. The man whose innate wit, charm and refinement bring endless comparisons with Cary Grant just looks ill-at-ease.

He can pretend to have the hots for his female co-stars but stick him on a red carpet in the company of a woman he is with by choice, rather than because it says so in the script, and he doesn’t know what to do. Presumably he has been intimate with these women yet it’s all he can do to drape a gentlemanly arm around them. And if they should venture to kiss him… well, George’s heart never seems to be in it.

Sometimes his lips aren’t in it either – or anywhere near the right area. Elisabetta Canalis is reduced to planting a loving smacker on his cheek, as if she were thanking her dad for letting her borrow the car. Little wonder they split up six months after the picture was taken.

Did George Clooney ever look pleased to be with any of them?

He even seems unable to turn it on for the fans, which is odd considering he is an award-winning actor.

Still, they might not get the ring but sometimes the Clooney girlfriends end up with something far more valuable – a career. After five on-off years with Clooney, Lisa Snowdon went on to present several TV shows, was a celebrity contestant on Strictly Come Dancing and co-hosts Capital FM’s breakfast show. Elisabetta is currently in the US Strictly, Dancing With The Stars, despite having no profile there apart from her association with one of the country’s favourite sons.

Clooney has famously sworn never to marry again and, of course, we must respect his decision. But please, George, while you are with a lady at least try to enjoy her. It’s only polite.

Well truthfully the way she was dressed, if he has any style sense (and I'm sure he does) he may have been embarrased by her appearance. Wouldn't blame him!

I don't know. I think there are many pics of him whispering in Eli's ear, snuggling close, and other such actions. Okay, he's not overly amorous in public situations, No kissing, fondling, holding hands while walking, etc., but then those are the personal things that need not be shown to the paps. He's really a hands on escort, hand on small of back guiding during passage, arm around waist w/hand on hip while standing talking to others.
Why he doesn't seem touchy feely with SK, I don't know. In all the pics, he never lays a hand on her. Don't know if that video shows him kissing her or someone else since it was incredibly dark and grainy.

I think he may wondering about the wisdom in his choice of gf's. It's as if he is thinking should I or shouldn't I? If Stacy was dressed and coifed properly I think people would have a much better first impression of her and G may have been seen in a better light. IMO

Maybe the whole thing is getting old even for him. Maybe he should try going stag to some events he might have a good time. He looked as if he was enjoying himself in Venice and Telluride, without a date.

I think that too. Bringing Stacy was a mistake he has done these campaigns solo before and it worked fine. The lack of any PDA is what people are noticing the fact her side has been pushing it's all hot and heavy and then when they go out in public together it doesn't even look tepid. I think they could be friends it just came off odd and people have really noticed! George needs to make up his mind either he wants it to be private in which case Stacy shouldn't go have a posing session on the red carpet by herself so everyone knows she is there she could of gone in a side door and be discreet or he walks her down the red carpet. George has shown he can keep them underwraps and since they have only been together for about 4 weeks and have had more leaks then a sinking ship clearly this isn't one of his more private girlfriends. I still think this has to do with Eli and when she is voted off DWTS the Stacy and George show will very quickly be over.

Have to agree that it's a little fishy Eli=DWTS George= the SK timing so you could be right about the start and finish of this romance Dex. But I've also wondered if the GC&SK hook-up happened way before a month ago. Yeah I'm wishy-washy, just can't make up my mind on this one.

I still think the hook-up started in Cabo and the PR blitz is to draw attention away from Betty. Half the PR about her DWTS gig mentions ex-girlfriend. Now that a new one has appeared Betty is yesterday's news.

Do you really think that Eli would have sat still and kept quiet if the hook-up started in Cabo last Dec.? I think she'd have made a hell of a scene. Besides, I don't think she really let him out of her radar range, was always fairly close by and I'm sure within eyeshot. Wouldn't have had much time to create hook-up situation. IMHO anyway.

He had happy candids with Celiene. He also had happy candids with Lisa, though not that many that I found looking at Clooney websites (past and present). In the beginning he seemed happy with both EC and SL, too.

Even though he is suppose to be having back and/or neck problems now (possible reason for looking glum with CrayCray), the day or two before his original surgery, he was able to put on decent happy face with Lisa at Ocean's premiere for the paps.

In photos of him when with friends at TIFF, does he have a decent smile?

When they were in Cabo, Betty's family and friends were there. So were Rande & Cindy and lots more. So yes, I think there was time to get friendly. Betty and G were apart very often after that. I don't think he was alone all that time. He has done stuff like this before according to posts I've read here. Just MO.

I don't know if he cheated but they hung out in the same circles so they would see each other. Once he and Eli split whenever that was I think they got together. But, according to the associates they were always splitting and getting back together so maybe when they were apart things got started.

I just cannot see George having an affair. He’s been way too busy for that. Are you guys saying he’s had affairs before? Well… no matter how it happened, we probably won’t ever find out the truth. But I have to agree with PattyGirl, Eli would “have made a hell of a scene”. Maybe that’s what we’re watching play out before our eyes… Hmmmm….

LOL, he's not married, so I wouldn't call it "an affair". What I meant was that as far as he was concerned, the relationship was over so he moved on.

He's not shown much emotion with any woman he's been seen in public with in over 10 years. Even with Lisa Snowdon he mostly looked like he was in deep pain when he walked down the red carpet with her. There weren't an awful lot of smiles with Sarah Larson either.

I think that's just the way he is.

I think it just shows his acting skills. For a man who shows so much enjoyment relating to the people around him, even autograph seekers, to look so devoid of feeling for a woman that he is obviously in a relationship with, is really fantastic acting on his part.

It does seem like a double standard, doesn’t it? He looked genuinely happy with his friends in Venice but not as happy in Toronto. We only saw a few photos of him in Telluride. Very strange… But I think I’ve seen him look happy with some of his women until closer to the end of their relationships. IMO

and another thing that he just broke up with betty a month or less and when they don't walk the red carpet together it give their relationship more point to me because any one out of failed relationship needs more time and that's why they taking things slowly not to blow it if he didn't care about stacy he would take her on a motorbike ride . and play the game again ,she is not like bette way more honest person not playing games and be a diva !

I remember reading an article where George said he liked to get to know women in private no public dates. I know he has known Stacey a while but not romantically so this may be his way of getting to know her and not rush anything. I also think he has learned that taking any woman other than his mother to an event detracts from the event so that is why he and Stacey are not photographed at these events.

lolo, what you say is interesting but George and Betty broke up in the beginning of June, TIFF started August 30. That's about 2 mo. How could you possibly tell that George was blushing in those pictures. The atmosphere they were taken in was a nightclub, which is rather dimly lit and they are lighted by the flashes from cameras. Besides, don't really picture George as the blushing type. Really have no comments on your Stacy statements. As you say, we'll have to wait and see.

Exactly lelacorb! He knows exactly how hard it is to be in the public eye and the sort of criticism that Stacy is suddenly exposed to.

He wouldn't put a woman through that intentionally when he could easily put a stop to it by denying it.

Remember that just because something's been denied it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Also, the story that he 'never' denies rumours is a complete fabrication on George's side. His PR team have issued a number of denials and announcements in the past couple of years.

Hey how come my number went down? What's the problem? Lelacorb some rumours are just too stupid to deny. Waldo is actually a married man who has been George's friend for years. George has made plenty of jokes about the gay rumours over they years he has made it pretty clear he likes women ALOT and he isn't gay! George also knows there are some people silly enough believe those rumours and over time he has just given up denying things. People will say what they want anyway. There were marriage rumours with Elisabetta I never said she started them although she certainly encouraged them. The napkin ring, letting Chi know she had ordered a white dress etc. As for the italian rumours about him being gay etc they have those sorts of rumours about everyone, they also swore black and blue that he and Eli would wed, that wasn't true either. All the articles you have read are from Italian gossip mags with no credibility or evidence except George is seen in the company of men. Shock horror a guy who likes to hang with other guys makes him a guy not gay. There is actually a difference! No one has ever had any proof that George is gay writing he is doesn't make him so.
