George Clooney: Success is dangerous

George Clooney has warned that it’s “dangerous” to fall in love with success.

The Hollywood star is one of the industry’s most sought-after leading men. Since shooting to fame in hit show ER, the 50-year-old has enjoyed a high-flying career and won numerous awards for his work in front of and behind the camera.

George says that doing well is a positive thing, but believing the hype can be treacherous.

"Success in itself isn't dangerous, but to fall in love with success is," he told German magazine Emotion.

George also revealed the things he misses the most now that his private life is restricted by his level of fame.

The star explained that he would like to be able to sit in a public space with pals when attending events rather than being in a cordoned off area.

"I can't go and watch a basketball game anymore,” he said. “I don't like the VIP lounges and would like to sit with my friends.

Of course he did manage to sit with folks at a football game recently! Can't see why he couldnt go to a basketball game Jack Nicholson and several other celebrities do.

As the saying goes "It's Tough at the Top" It happens

I don't think dear old Jack would cause the same commotion
at a basketball game now as George would !
Many years ago yes, but not now IMO

I think G means that he would attract too much attention, and distract from the actual enjoyment of the game. Fans would want pics and autographs, even during the game. Others would stare at him; security would need to focus on G. This would make his friends feel uncomfortable and be a nuisance.

Phys Major,
If G wore a disguise, the paps and international press would make fun of him for the rest of his life with crazy pics. Also one fan would recognize him, and then everyone would be gossiping and not focusing on the game.
