Throwback to the 2010 Screen Actors Guild Awards - George Clooney popping champagne

Anyone else thinking that you don't invite George Clooney TO a party - he IS the party??!

George Clooney popped some champagne for his table. 

Absolutely Katie! He probably tells the best stories and can make some mean drinks!

I'll bet he can!  Anyway, as I can't remember as far back as breakfast, let alone an awards show 10 years ago, I went wandering around the internet to find more stuff about the awards (it happened 9 months before this site, so I don't have anything on COH).

He was, apparently, still dating Elisabetta Canalis. Remember her?  So I imagine most Clooney fans were crowing over the fact that he came solo.  

According to EW, this went down:

Betty White: “I am still to this day starstruck. I look out at this audience and I see so many famous faces. But what really boggles my mind is that I actually know many of you. And I’ve worked with quite a few. Maybe had a couple.”

Props to George Clooney, who, while presenting best performance by a cast in a motion picture, told the audience: “I think it was 1987, I did an episode of The Golden Girls, and I would like to thank Betty White for her discretion.”

Yea I distinctly remember George saying while on stage talking of Betty that a friend of his said she was a bobcat in the sack! So George.

At one of the awards shows that year, George attended with Canalis, and there was a shot of them at the table (so... Golden Globes?). George was sitting with his back to her. I knew then that they were done.

2010, ah the good old days (before Amal)
