George Clooney sponsored a golf team at the Screen Actors Guild Foundation Golf Classic, but made sure the entire field of competitors was properly supplied with booze.
A source says Clooney, who’s shooting “The Monuments Men,” “arranged to have a bar set up for all the players,” stocked with his own Casamigos tequila. Celeb duffers at the Lakeside Golf Club event in Burbank included Ray Romano, Tim Allen, George Lopez, Dennis Quaid, Dermot Mulroney and Robert Hays of “Airplane!”
Thanks Henway for this one.

Generous George! And shrewd promotion of Casamigos brand.
Like t-shirts he wears lately. Clever move.

SAG RAISES $320,000 FOR CHARITY AT 4TH ANNUAL LOS ANGELES GOLF CLASSIC
The Screen Actors Guild Foundation raised more than $320,000 during its 4th Annual Los Angeles Golf Classic on June 10.
The major fundraiser benefiting the SAG Foundation’s Catastrophic Health Fund and Emergency Services Assistance Programs was hosted by Dennis Quaid and Aimee Garcia at the Lakeside Golf Club in Burbank.
Celebrities including Tim Allen, Gabriel Aubry, Benjamin Bratt, Peter Gallagher, Andy Garcia, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Ioan Gruffudd, Richard Karn, CS Lee, George Lopez, Danny Masterson, Breckin Meyer, Dermot Mulroney, Ron Perlman, Joe Pesci, Ray Romano, Kevin Sorbo, Patrick Warburton, Tom Welling and Scott Wolf teed off for the charity, which raises funds for performers facing life-threatening illness and severe economic hardship.
Casamigos, George Clooney’s new ultra-premium tequila brand, hosted an on-course tasting followed by a cocktail reception; Clooney also sponsored a team. The tournament concluded with a dinner and awards ceremony where Quaid and Garcia resented prizes and trophies to the top teams and players.
The first place net team went to the Puma Team which included celebrity player Scott Wolf. The second place net team went to a celebrity team including Gabriel Aubry, David Leisure, Danny Masterson and Michael Pena. The third place net team went to the Carson Foundation Team which included celebrity player Tom Welling.
Other prizes were given for Closest to the Pin and the Men’s and Women’s Longest Drive, with sixteen-year-old actor Kathryn Newton taking both contests for the women. George Lopez was the top bidder during the live auction, taking home a set of Puma golf clubs and a Lamborghini watch auctioned to benefit the SAG Foundation. Actor Carlease Burke, who was helped by the work of the SAG Foundation’s Emergency Assistance program, also spoke to share her story and thanked the actors for their support.
The tournament was sponsored by Integrated Wealth Management as well as United Airlines and the Carson Foundation.
