Amal Clooney never fails to impress with her office style.
The 41-year-old human rights attorney stepped out in a perfect fall look on Wednesday as she headed to work in New York City. 
Amal, a Beirut-born Briton, has represented such figures as Julian Assange and ex-Ukrainian PM Yulia Tymoshenko.

Off to work: Renowned human rights attorney Amal Clooney stepped out in a perfect fall look on Wednesday as she headed to work in New York City
She stepped out on the crisp fall day wearing a black wool sweater with a midi length houndstooth plaid skirt by Silvia Tcherassi.

The wife of George Clooney topped the ensemble off with a smart, long black wool coat, a pair of sunglasses and a classic pair of black pumps.


Her luxurious raven locks were left down with a slight wave and she carried a small hot coffee in one hand and a leather bag full of files int he other.
A world renowned international barrister, Amal has represented many high profile clients and works tirelessly in the field of human rights.

She is also the UK Foreign Office's special envoy on media freedom, and addressed the UN just last month on the dangers faced by journalists around the globe.
She described the dangers many face as they attempt to simply do their jobs.
'Our research targets laws being used every day to punish journalists for their work,' Amal told the UN.
'Laws like criminal libel, vague or overboard hate speech laws, so-called fake news laws, and laws that muzzle the media by imposing arbitrary conditions on ownership, accreditation and funding.'

Amal told Vogue last year about how she manages 'quality time' amid her demanding work and philanthropic schedule.
'Between six and eight in the morning we get to have them in our bed - I don't schedule any calls before eight,' Amal explained.
George and Amal celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary last month and were joined out to dinner in New York by their pals Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber.

At home: Amal told Vogue last year that she gets in quality time with her kids every day 'between six and eight in the morning' when she makes sure she doesn't schedule any work calls 

  Amal appears to be walking out of George Clooney's New York home today.

She is leaving their home .

Who LEAVES their home with a takeaway coffee - I'm sure they can afford a nespresso machine

You can buy take away cups in the grocery store she probably uses them for convenience.

I Sincerely Hope that Amal is safe following the attacks 
on ISIS leader and family.

And of course that George and his family is safe too....

Nope. Wouldn't get accreditation if they did that - but obviously the Florence instagram was from a private account and they could have held on to it for days. Although if Casamigos say George was in Italy a few days earlier................

All I know is that she took her almost-flop in NYC on Wednesday. The rest is a total mystery!

I can't understand how ladies live in those 

High Heeled shoes !

Surely they put a strain on the balls of foot

and toes  ??

Does anyone here wear them ?

I'd love to hear what they're like to be worn.

Dearest Jo - Are you truly one of the lucky ladies who hasn't had the glorious experience of squishing your poor toesies into a pair of too-high shoes? How did you get so lucky? I used to wear them all the time, though I never went higher than a 3" heel except on rare dress-up occasions. If you're lucky you find a pair or two that fit well and are comfortable enough to wear all day, but this is rare. Usually, by the end of the day your feet do hurt, at least a little. I guess your feet just get used to being abused.   (I once worked with a woman who only wore heels because she was short. She had been doing this so long she couldn't straighten out her feet!)

That sounds like me, Lizzy! Tho not quite so bad with the feet - a size 3. Never not worn a heel and can't do flat shoes or trainers at all. High instep is my excuse. Can't do the pointed versions now tho - far too painful....
