George Clooney and Amal Clooney separated and headed for divorce

Depending on your point of view, this is either shocking news, or a totally predictable development that you've been anticipating for 5 years.
According to Radar Online, George and Amal Clooney are currently separated and bracing themselves for a $520 million divorce battle.

The site claims that Amal has absconded with the couple's twins, Alexander and Ella, and the three of them have taken up residence -- sans George -- at the Clooneys' recently-purchased villa on the Italian island of Sardinia.
These two even make divorce sound classy!

"George is beside himself," a source tells the site.
"Pals said he is pleading with Amal to come home!” revealed a different insider.
“He wanted them to enjoy the new property together, but after an explosive argument she ran off there with Alexander and Ella," the second source adds.
"She’s told him if he comes, he’ll have to stay in the guest house!”
The insider says George feels he is running out of options and has resorted to anxiously texting Amal:
“Let me see the twins!” and "Let's get back together for the kids!"

hat last one seems a little on the nose, but we suppose it's possible.
It's unclear what prompted Amal to take flight, but accounts seem to concur that George is to blame.
"Remorseful George is telling Amal he will do whatever his wife wants as long as she comes home," the source adds.
"He will change his ways and stop driving her up a wall."

Part of the problem, it seems, is that George has maintained his carefree lifestyle despite becoming a father.
"He has let her know in no uncertain terms that he will 'toe the line' and be more involved," says the insider.

"He will do whatever it takes to make her happy."

The tipster claims those who know the Clooneys best are not surprised that Amal has gotten fed up.
"People already thought it was weird that they didn't spend their anniversary together, and it definitely raised eyebrows when Amal missed a party for George's Casamigos tequila brand while [business partner] Rande Gerber's wife, Cindy Crawford, was there," the tipster reveals.
"There was talk that a divorce was underway."

Yeesh. Bet you didn't think you'd be spending part of your day feeling bad for George Clooney!

Well,

we hadn't seen any of them for about a month inbetween Amal's talk in London a week before christmas and George being pictured with Rande leaving Craig's. We don't know where they spent the holidays and New Year, so anything's possible.

But it's this usual 'a source' and 'a second insider' meaning it might just be another made-up story. Plus the fact that none of us has ever heard of them buying a villa in Sardinia - they had rented one when George was shooting 'Catch 22'.

By the way: i' just googled George's name and found several articles about them divorcing with exactly the same textas posted above. There were about the same number of articles saying that they will adopt a baby.

So I wouldn't take it too serious...

The article is quoting Radar Online. Radar Online is owned by SuperTrump friend David Pecker, who also owns The National Enquirer. It was Mr Pecker who has paid off a variety of women for Mr Trump

do you think it was any different if they would show up together at a film premiere, fashion show, a restaurant or similar public places every week? Would post tweets and pics on social medias every hour? I don't think so, and we've seen couples who lived a very public life, declared their love for each other and separated the very next day. So that's not a sign for a perfect relation. 

George and Amal have decided to live a private life and seem to have friends and family who respect their privacy. They seem to protect their kids as well to guarantee them a normal life. Of course the fact that they weren't seen in public together for months may be a sign for them splitting up - which would be a shame IMHO because I wish them happiness - or it may be a sign for their private and probsbly very busy life. We've read articles like the posted one since their relation became public, they never commented about them and just let their public appearances speak for themselves.

Your're probably right in that case, and as we all know the Clooney name sells so the more drama in the headline and the more people who believe the more money the likes of the National Enquirer makes - as well as the advertisers on their websites.

It's only six weeks since we saw them all together in NYC - and it was Christmas and NYD since then - and it's a tricky time of year for sales of rubbish magazines!!

Goerge and Amal have said they lead a pretty private life. That is why they have the homes to entertain and not go out and be bothered by the paps. 
This is just one of the articles all lies that have been written in the last few months.

Gossip cop has already denied this nonsense.

Are you referring to recent reports.  I've read through several in the last week.  I've not seen any statement from Stan, George Clooney's publicist.  There are so many reports, I'm thinking there may be some truth to them.

The rags need a big couple to break up those stories seem to sell. George and Amal are the biggest couple left that I can think of. The stories are ridiculous they can't even get their facts straight we have seen them since august .

Then the one where they are adopting a little girl. And this goes on and on I can't imagine how much time Stan would have to

Ladybug - Just because something is repeated in multiple tabloids or online gossip sites doesn't make it true. Most of the time they're just copying each other. I trust Gossip cop when they say they spoke to George's actual legitimate representative  and he said this story isn't true.

I doubt George could have screwed up so badly since she gushed all over him at the AFI Awards that Amal's ready to leave him now. After all, he's her great love she never thought she'd have.

The story's garbage, but I wonder if they did buy a place in Sardinia. They seemed to like it there and it probably is more private for them than Lake Como. Not that they need another home, but they can certainly afford it as another getaway destination. Does anyone know whatever happened to the houses he and Rande were building in Cabo?

PAN, seems that every couple of years the tabloids try to convince us that George has bought another place in Italy and is giving up living in Como because of the lack of privacy.  None of those stories have every panned out... (Ha no pun intended PAN!)

No offence taken Donnamarie! Como will be always be theirs for obvious reasons - but another house purchase somewhere wouldn't surprise me either

Not Malibu. If he hasn't bought there by now, he never will. Besides, didn't Cindy and Rande just sell their Malibu place? And wasn't there a lot of fire damage there? Considering he's already got homes in Studio City, Cabo, NY, Augusta, Sonning and Lake Como another house seems a bit much - unless he's going to get one each for everyone in his family and all his friends. I don't think even George is that generous.

I know that he's famously said he prefers land as investment rather than shares, and it's clear he loves properties near rivers and lakes and trees - willing to bet there's a place in Kentucky.

I wouldn't be suprised to hear that they've swapped the NYC apartment for a townhouse there. Certainly makes more sense for the children.......

PAN - Why what? I think if he owns property in Malibu we would have heard about it, but I guess it's possible. He does own the house in Augusta, Ky. that the student they sponsored is living in. It's also near water. Maybe he feels it affords him more privacy to be at least partly surrounded by trees and water - makes it a little harder for fans and the paps to gain access.

Sorry, but I can't see them in Brooklyn. Most of their reasons for being in NYC are in Manhattan and getting there from any of the outer boroughs during prime time is horrendous. I also think privacy and security would be big problems. They're safer and more protected in the apartment.

I don't think the apartments in New York were for them to live in, I think they were investments. 

Cindy and Rande have another apartment in NY.

The house that Cindy and Rande sold was a fixer upper not the home they live in.

As for the house in Kentucky, I wonder if it is the one that Nick and Nina owned. They held Rosemary's wedding reception there and it is near the water.

annemarie - I don't think the apartments are investments mainly because they need a base here for when she's working at Columbia or the UN and this building seems to offer all the amenities they'd need. Besides, they need a place where they can leave all their stuff in between visits. If they rent a place or stay in a hotel they have to bring everything with them every time they visit. That's a pain in the neck.

Rande and Cindy bought an apartment in the same building that George and Amal purchased in NYC.  But I was surprised that when Amal was at Columbia in the fall it looks like she stayed at the hotel.  Does that mean that George and Amal haven’t had time to furnish it so they can move in or maybe they decided after the fact to sell it for whatever reason???

Every time they are here they have stayed in a hotel. They bought the apartment before Amal got pregnant and it only has three bedrooms so I think it may be
too small with the twins and the nannies.

I was out for an evening stroll ... just took the long road round....

It's wonderful to know George Clooney is happier than ever.

I wonder how Amal Clooney is taking the "it's over" reports.

I think they must annoy her but,  the paps are always saying it's over it's been said since they married so nothing new it just gets stranger.

I think it's a good thing Amal Clooney's children are to young to know what's going on.  I'm sure when they are older, they will look back at the fake reports and laugh.
