George is on the executive energy board of Swatch Switzerland who make Omega watches and Nicholas Hayek the chairman and owner appointed him in 2007. So it's entirely possible he was there

We know he was in Augusta, Amal has to be in New York on the 28th so they may be here. their anniversary is tomorrow
and they both love New York.

The list of awards for the American actor, director and producer George Clooney has achieved is long: Oscar, Golden Globe, Emmy or BAFTA as well as UN ambassador of peace or Sexiest Man Alive.
And this fame also shines a light to the Swiss watch company Omega for which Clooney acts as an ambassador. "One time Biel instead of Hollywood" is the title of a PR note pointing out Clooney's visit to the watch factory in Biel.
Clooney visited the new factory opened in 2017. Clooney who's an Omega fan since his childhood, 'took the exciting chance to experience how modern collections are developed nowadays', as the press release mentioned on Tuesday.
Other brand ambassadors for Omega are Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig, Eddie Redmayne and Abhishek Bachchan.

"George who? Doesn't sound familiar to ne." Walter Enders is sitting in a restaurant in Itingen on Tuesday at lunch time, his opponent Kurt Rytz can't believe this. A picture helps: "Of course, this guy!" In fact, there's hardly anybody here whose eyes weren't shining with joy when hearing the actor's name. And everybody asks astonished: "Clooney was here? In Itingen?"
Yes, on August 17th, the Hollywood star visited the small village with just  2,000 people. He was there to visit Renata Batteries AG. Clooney is a member of the executive board of the research company Belanos AG for which Renata will produce batteries for electric cars soon. Both companies are part of the Swatch Group, owned by Nick Hayek who was also present at Clooney's visit. But nobody knew about this, except of those in the factory. Itingen's mayor Martin Mundwiler wasn't informed about it and just read about it when NZZ reported about the visit last weekend. Hayek was quoted: "George Clooney is not just a member of our executive board, he motivates our staff with his presence and gives lots ogf creative impulses." They also offered a picture of the visit to NZZ.
Our magazine wasn't offered this picture though and didn't get any informations of the visit as well. The restaurant's owner Nicola DiVenere also heard about it later as well. Staff members of Renata reported that Clooney had been driven to the factory directly and protected by bodyguards but posed for pictures with staff members. "It's an honor for our village, he's finally one of the most famous stars", said DiVenere. Two years ago, a visit had to be cancelled.
Two women sitting on the restaurant's terrace, are also gushing about him: "Clooney has such a beautiful wife!" They also praise his social and entrepreneurial commitments. That's also what the two men are highlighting: "This gives a positive impulse to our economic region", Enders, an architect, mentions. And Rytz, an engineer, adds: "Swatch keeps something at the back of its mind for the future of Renata when presenting the factory to Clooney!" Mayor Mundwiler is also happy about the surprising visit although he doesn't expect an advertising impact for the small town. There's only one thing he doesn't like about the news coverage: that the NZZ describes Itingen as a picturesque farming village. "We hardly have any farms anymore."

Thanks Carol. I'm always impressed by Our Man's commitment long term to serious projects. I think he was a friend originally of Hayek Sr and went to his funeral - the Omega brand continues too
